    The UNO universe expands with UNO R4 WiFi: the same industry-standard form factor at 5V operating voltage, but with the enhanced performance of a RA4M1 32-bit microcontroller by Renesas with ESP32-S3-MINI coprocessor - for increased computational power, memory and speed - as well as Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® connectivity, a 12 x 8 LED matrix, and a Qwiic connector.

    Finally. An actual hardware specification.

    Thanks, helpful. Did not however appreciate the ending advice to stay safe and be kind.

    congrats with the Qwiic connector. This will be the standard now.

    how do the two controllers communicate with each other? can we program the esp32? can we use its ram?

    Can it be programmed from a usb 2 serial port?

    • @MahBor

      Most likely yes

      The schematic for the board shows that the D+/D- data lines are the only ones connected. The TX/RX pairs used by "super-speed" USB 3 are not connected. So yes, it's a USB 2 device.

    The Arduino board LED matrix... WHY/WTF?!!?!! Are we jumping the shark when it comes to LEDs?

    • @tetsujin_144
      @tetsujin_144 Před rokem +4

      I think probably it was like a case of "why not?" - The new CPU has more I/O lines, so add a dollar worth of LEDs to the board and those I/O lines that would have been unusable now have a use.
      If you don't want to use the LED matrix, don't use it. Or buy the R4 Minima version, save a bit of money and do without the LEDs, WiFi, and QWIIC port

    You can add wifi but not nrf24
    Why??

    • @tyttuut
      @tyttuut Před rokem +1

      NRF24 is a lot less versatile.
