My favorite part playing volleyball when younger was the fact that you can save the ball with your foot and it still counts. That still is one of my favorite things. Nothing gives you more adrenaline than being able to keep the ball from hitting the floor with whatever part of your body you are able to hit it with

Volleyball is such an awesome sport and reflects really well what a team actually is, it's so sad that it isn't protrayed like that usually compared to other more famous sports such as football that nowadays its more about money.

I watched Haikyuu when I was struggling in volleyball at school, Haikyuu not only got me into volleyball, it taught me all the rules of volleyball and how to play it properly. I still play volleyball with my friends in my free time because I love volleyball and wont stop. :)
@HammerBann no that's just anime. Anime is dramatic so it's not really a waste when that's what the entire industry is doing. The story was made by a volleyball fan and I believe also played so I can't disrespect that type of art (esp since from what I've seen alot of the actual animation and is a beautiful depiction of real volleyball motion and technique....except the hands....they piss me off)

I still struggle to understand how it is humanly possible to land a block out xD and dumps and those amazing last-minute saves... I mean, when it’s in anime you know that the plays aren’t gonna be realistic from the get go, but then you see some of them irl and it is craaazy! I really wanna get into watching volleyball, it’s insanely cool.
People who watched Haikyuu probably even hears the internal monologue that goes in their head.

I don’t think it’s a carry either. If you have the right angles and push off the left hand more you can achieve that play legally. It’s more of “the stars needed to align” kind of moment
