      Meh, it's symmetrical in that everyone gets spirit's. It's asymetrical in that you make better use of spirit's than anyone else at the table

      I think it's pretty good. Unless your opponents are also putting out tokens they're losing their creatures that are helping their strategy. Also it sees your spirit tokens so you get them back to recast Millicent. Good deal

    You can really take that $50 and upgrade the mana base and mana rocks and still have a good time with it. I think it's focused enough that a new player can buy this, buy some duals and talismans and just keep adding to the deck as time goes on. Probably won't even cost $50 to do that

    I disagree every time you say unclaimed territory is a bad card. Its a fenomenal tribal payoff, that enters untapped and can even net mana for spells outside of the tribe.

      @jetcell4517 Před 2 lety +6

      It depends on the deck. In 3 or more colors with a high creature volume and with very limited colorless lands, it’s really good, e.g. slivers

    • @MichaelMcDonald714
      @MichaelMcDonald714 Před 2 lety +2

      In a two color deck it’s just not that good, maybe in a five color dragons deck or something, but in a two color tribal deck there’s plenty of dual lands to get you what you need.

    In defense of Verity Circle, it is pretty bad that you don't get to draw off attackers being tapped but there's plenty of good cards you could use to support it and draw you cards. Even lower cmc cards in white and also the pre-con has 6 cards that care about tapping your opponents creatures to support it already
    Edit: forgot to mention I played this pre-con against several different types of decks and there are alot of activated abilities of creatures that do draw a few cards very fast once VC is out. Maybe its situational?

    It did look like you were struggling a bit with this one, maybe it's because the starting point is a little uninspired (she's a fine commander but the deck itself feels dull), maybe it's price inflation narrowing options? that katilda card is a major story spoiler, since katilda was in the last set as a human :)
    Fractured powerstone is bad, mind stone at least draws you a card. wayfarer's bauble is better, it gets you a land on turn 2 and I don't think wayfarer's bauble is all that expensive now. the new one that can fetch a sol ring or a land is also better and if people have been buying the latest commander pre-cons they already have one of those. and you left in the locket and the commander's sphere? 3 mana manarocks are bad.
    Here is a question for you: What is the difference between glacial floodplain and azorious chancery if you don't run fetch lands? the answer you are looking for is: "nothing", they both enter tapped. the nice thing with glacial flood plain is that it can be fetched, thats why commander players run it. if you don't have fetch lands, get a basic land instead. I run usualy run bounce lands in my 2 colour decks, because I don't play cEDH so I can afford the time, but sometimes a basic land is just better.
    I got some other spirits in my binder I might add, I got a Spell queller that needs a home, so gonna put that in here I guess.

    word of advice if your opponent is playing toxrill as a commander, you might as well just play a different deck, you will never be able to keep your tokens on the board long enough to synergize, and will be left with a open field all game. already tested, this is not fun. however it is funny when you use mirror mimic to copy toxrill.

    What would you do to power this deck up as strong as possible? The spirits route is cool but jamming them out makes no sense and having no plan.

  • @kentsilvain7329
    @kentsilvain7329 Před 2 lety

    Kinda disagree with the tap hate here. Spirits do have solid tap outlets in cards like shacklegeist and nebelghast herald, both of which are very abusable in this deck. Throw in a Willbender, and all the sudden the plays can get silly, with each of your tokens stealing a creature, and then being usable with shacklegeist to steal even more. Add in a pyre of heroes, which is just solid in any tribal deck, and you can even take advantage of the weird overlap that spirits have with humans to reliably find these pieces. Not to mention, once these pieces are out, you have solid protection from spirits like Kira, spell queller, unsettled mariner, and guardian of faith.
    Even without willbender though the tap theme improves our gameplan, as it gets the few things that can block our spirits out of the way so that our nontokens can almost always connect, to trigger Millicent. Verity circle can also be a surprising counter to things like mana dorks, or other strong tap abilities.

    As someone who is more annoyed by extra turn spells than anything else in this format, there is nothing annoying about their use here. It's when a non-combat deck is durdling-- they're annoying. You're leveraging more than an extra draw step and a bit more mana, and its not chained together but to hopefully close the game.
