I didn’t realize how DONE I am with crease looks until you said not to do one! I have hooded eyes (plus I’m 54 now so they are getting worse with age). I saw a picture of myself recently with my eye makeup done and I did not like it at all!! I felt like I looked terrible and old fashioned for who I am now.
I remember growing up as a child in the 70s and early 80s. My aunt still did her eyes with the winged liner from her 20s in the 1960s. By the 80s, the winged liner was an obvious outdated look. (I was THRILLED when it came back eventually!!)
I remember my cousins trying for YEARS to get my aunt to stop the winged look because to them it did not look good. They felt it dated her. Frankly, she did rock her winged look and she looked really good in it. Yet, I remember, though, I felt as a preteen/teenager (by the early to mid 80s) that she looked liked she was stuck in a rut.
I can understand my aunt’s winged eyeliner look so well now. It’s nice to stick with a look that works even if the world changes around us! We got THINGS TO DO, baby!
Now, I can see I’m stuck in a rut like my aunt was because my face has changed and I’m not sure how to change with it. Plus, it’s tiresome to figure a new way of doing things out sometimes. Ah, life is such a circle!
Thank you, Wayne! I’ll give this a go. This is such a lovely, simple tutorial!
I resonate so much with your comment. I am the same way - and every time i try to change it up, I end up doing what I have always done and I detest it when I am finished.
I can't wait to try this look. I have hooded eyes too, and trying to carve out a crease is damn near pointless.
I agree so much with this.
I resonate so much as well. I start to do something different and end up falling back on what I’ve always done. That might have worked 50 years ago, but now….not so much!
My hoods are the bane of my make up life . I just cannot get it right. 40 odd years later
Thanks Wayne! Will definitely give this a go!. Having upper eyelid surgery next week so I’m looking forward to being able to do proper crease work and winged eyeliner though too! X🙏😊👍
This hooded-eyed 72-year-old thanks you immensely, Wayne. ❤
It is simple but it looks great. I am o. 50 and I have still a lot to learn about eye shadow...So watching your videos to learn. The reason is that I used very few make up when I was young (natural look).Thank you for this easy method, which is nice for a daily look❤
Same!
@@elizabethsahu7822 really, that's interesting 🤩
Same here, and the beauty of this look is that it is still a natural look. So many for hooded eyes especially use 3 or more colours with oodles of blending and then eyeliner on top, I don't have the time to spend and don't like eyeliner or mascara anyway. This is perfect for so many of us.

Thank you for caring about mature women! ❤
Agreed, because there're not too many out there that do! 💜
that wink…tickles me every time 🥰
Thank you - at 76 I need a quick eyeshadow method. You’re the best Wayne!
Also ~~~ a neutral one and done cream shadow is beautiful on mature eyes as well. Cold copper from Armani is gorgeous and for affordable ones Moira has tons. 😎♥️👍🏼
@@Queenmarie88Agreed!! I’ve always loved a quick cream eyeshadow look with one shade, concentrated on the lid then feathered up to the crease and blended out with a finger. So simple. There are some great ones from the drugstore, Maybelline and Revlon are my faves.
Tonight I figured out why YOU are the only beauty influencer that I watch... we're the same age & we have the same shape eyes! You're absolutely perfect for me.😂😂 Thanks for being you. 🤗💕
Thank you, thank you, Wayne❣️ I'm 80 young and have hooded eyes it's been taking longer and longer to apply my eyeshadow lately and I'm definitely going to try this today 😘 Luv from California and have a great day 💖
I recently turned 50 and I feel like I’m learning how to apply makeup all over again because my skin has changed so much. Everything suddenly clicked while watching this video and I finally understand how to get my eyeshadow to not make me look like a $2 hussy. Thank you, Wayne! 😊
Me too. I even stopped using eye shadow. I bought a eye shadow palette, in the nude range. Now I'm rocking beautiful, nearly nude eye with brown mascara. At 76 I had to learn all make up again & so so glad I did. Was a bumpy road, with a few disasters along the way, but finally I mastered it for a lovely soft look. Thank you Wayne, for all your knowledge & expertise you take the time to show all the beautiful seniors. X
Oh wow so quick and easy! Thanks Wayne I adore you 😍
I have really hooded eyes and this method works best for me.
This looks easy,I will try it right away tomorrow morning. Hope it will work on my "wrinkely" 54 old eye lids. Thanks for showing and sharing this hack👍💃🏽🍾🥂🥳😍
Thank you Wayne, I am going to try.this today. As always I like the way you always get straight to the point in your videos without alot of unnecessary talking beforehand.
I love all your technique videos. You should come out with a patented eyeshadow tissue guard maybe like a post it note or painters tape. Something to adhere to the skin with very light tack. ❤ 🙏🏻
Merci beaucoup ! Love this ! ❤❤❤
Thanks a million. I love these short videos!
Now this is the content I like from you, Wayne!
This is great! You are going to put those big eye shadow pallets out of business! I love it! I’m 72 and I always wear makeup when I leave home. But I’ve been unhappy with my shadow lately. Tried this today and it’s just great! Love you!
Thanks Wayne, (huggs) I like using a straight edge guide, and my makeup application is looking better. I like the ability to angle the straight edge and go partial under my eye as well and the look stays connected and on point. (the sides of my eyes are beginning to go downturned) I like using the guide (straight edge) for blush, contour and highlighting, and blending really well. using the guide in combination with bone placement seems to help with the facial changes of aging. Using this method is pretty cool in my experience because what emerges is "the true you". I enjoy creating different "looks" with this method because the placement is always "correct". When i tried doing makeup the old way, i looked "weird" my eyeshadow is always going way too high :D (yes hooded eyes) Hooray to all the Women doing their makeup! Beautiful! Hooray to Wayne for helping lead the way!! (extra-special Rose) :)

Yay !
Have not wore a full look in 16 years and really planned to start again this new year. This is truly a big help as I don’t even know where to start with all the looks out there.

Thank you so much for sharing, Wayne! Looks practical and doable for beginners and low-maintenance people like myself! Blessings and more success to you and your family, Wayne! ❤
I recently bought bold, earthy colours, and I think this technique will work wonders for my eye looks! Thank you so much!!! 💓
Thank you this is so great ! I never use eyeshadows because I always think that it’s a long process but this one technique is really amazing. I’m gonna colour myself more thanks !
Hmm gonna try it!
Not just for beginners. Love the simplicity.
You are simply brilliant Wayne. I've done makeovers, you learn things, don't necessarily apply them. I've changed quite a few things in my make-up routine thanks to you. Bravo! x
Love you Wayne.
That is so easy!
Excellent
Very nice!!
Loving this trick! Could you do another 30 second eyeshadow for a doe eye effect?
This technique is amazing! I completely agree that full eye looks aren’t always necessary or even wanted. Any color recommendations that work best with this? Love your videos and how down to earth and easy to follow they are!
Oh my dear wonderful man....that is simple.ans it is pretty and I may do that 1 day but YES! I HAVE to have my shimmers for now lol
I'm going to try this today
Thank you, you gorgeous man!
Thanks Wayne
I tried this today and oh my goodness! It gave these 50 year old eyes so much lift and it didn't look over done! Thank you!!!
Thank you for sharing this video. Do you think this is gonna work for deep set eyes too
This is the sort of tutorial I enjoy because it it easy and quick to use. Perfect if you're just popping down to the shops and simply want the only part of your face seen over the mask to at least look decent and restrained rather than a wash of colour - especially if you've hooded eyes. THANK YOU, will be trying this this afternoon. So quick and simple and no concealers, extra colours or anything else. BLISS. You're a true genius.
You are still wearing a mask? Wow
As someone in her early 40s who has yet to feel competent at doing a proper cat-eye, I can see this as being a perfect and doable stand-in. Thank you Wayne!
He looks so radiant in this video, really glowing 💫
This is perfection! I tried it out uncertain because of my sagging eyelids (also having deep and close set eyes). It worked first time and it looked better than times I’ve spent ten minutes carefully layering and blending neutrals 😮 I was using a matte shade from the Hindash Monochromance palette with Rose Inc no.8 brush, both of which I bought as you mentioned them. You are make up angel❤
