They "discovered" these places, so ati the locals and fishermen there didn't know about these places. I am now beginning to unlearn what I was taught in history wbout these imposteurs.

I have always been in full support of changing ALL the silly colloquial names given by the colonisers for our physical features that had their own local names. The question is who lobbies this and how do we go about it as it's been along time coming?

That's one of the issues we have in Africa. How to implement change. For something like this, we will need a critical mass who will come to petition relevant authorities to make the changes.
