Amazing paint job
I am in the process of disassembling my E38 engine bay. I have exactly the same rust holes on the right side! Currently I am trying to remove the ECU box, but there I fail. And I thought only mine was eaten by rust so hard.

I wonder though you are complaining about the heavy bonnet - it shouldn‘t be heavy at all since the pre facelift V12 received the aluminium bonnet from the factory!
Looks like you kept the original bonnet that came with the car though…

What an amazing result, congratulations. Hopefully you will protect it with lots of cavity wax and anti corrosion stuff like Krown spray oil, since it has welded areas that are more vulnerable.
