1977-1978 Cruising with my husband to be in his 1975 Chevy Caprice Lowrider in Sacramento CA. Love the 70's - music had so much meaning and love. RIP my husband, someday we will continue the cruise in Heaven's glory for all eternity.

Then a couple of years later I was in college, and my roommate who had a few crates of LPS ended up putting this song on and that's when I was finally able to learn who SUN was and I was hooked!
It took me over 20 years to find out who sung this song everyone I asked never knew. the radio stations would play it and it always seem like I would catch it at the end of the song.

Sun was one of those fabulous funk bands from Dayton, Ohio who really helped clearly defined what FUNK truly was supposed to sound like. They had a festival in my hometown of Springfield, Ohio every summer ( now called the NeedMore Festival) when I was growing up (early-mid,-late '70's) where all the upcoming young bands would perform. Can u imagine seeing Sun, Slave, Phase-O, Lakeside & others, all just coming into their prime, (like early to mid 20's) those dance steps, solos & all?!?! Crazy Good!! Oh yeah, & their was a young guitar player who used some kind of a crazy talk box thing attached to his guitar, that would in later years become part of his band's trademark, distinctive sound, & it would be copied throughout the industry (& still is today!) At the time they were called Roger & the Human Body, but are known today as..Roger & Zapp!! Dayton, let the Funk live...FOREVER!!..& that's not even counting other Ohio bands, like the founding fathers, the Ohio Players, Bootsy's Rubber Band, the O'Jays, the Dazz Band, & of course, the legendary Isley Brothers. So much Funk, so little time!! Ohio Funk WILL live forever!!!

SWEET MEMORIES ❤
Holding hands, strolling through the park
Sweet memories are torn apart
I made a promise I could not keep
I played around, oh, girl, I made you weep
I had a choice
And I chose wrong
I made a promise, girl
To leave it alone
You gave me trust
I threw it away
Baby, please
Baby, please
You were honest right from the start
The love you gave, baby, came from the heart
I should have known our love was right
I was blind, oh, couldn't see the light
I love your charms, I miss your smile
Please baby, come on, lay with me awhile
I crave the love that we once shared
Open up your heart, oh, girl, don't despair
I had a choice
And I chose wrong
I made a promise, girl
To leave it alone
You gave me trust
I threw it away
Baby, please
Baby, please
Ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...
Ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...
I had a choice
And I chose wrong
I made a promise, girl
To leave it alone
You gave me trust
I threw it away
Baby, please
Baby, please, listen to me
Holding hands, strolling through the park
Sweet memories are torn apart
I made a promise I could not keep
I played around, oh, girl, I made you weep
Baby, please
Baby, please
Baby, you got me down on my knees
Baby, please
Baby, please
Whoa...oh...yeah...
I'll be so honest, I'll be so true
I'll be so doggone good to you
Baby, please
Baby, please
Baby, please
