That bag is appropriate for everyday/casual occasions, but not for social gatherings. A clutch or small purse would’ve been more appropriate.
I think he was mocking how she appeared to have brought her “only designer bag” she owns, and how she is a “lower class” trying to fit into the upper circle.

Absolutely. Her usage of improper language was “ludicrous”. Her asking for selfie was intrusive, I felt embarrassed for the lady.

I worked for Burberry and I can confirm logo maniacs, who are not actually wealthy, go for those type of bags. The company knows and very happily cashes in on them.
The question is do you judge these people who buy them?

Didnt match her outfit and occasion. Was def too big. But i think just like gucci its logo is very obviously recognisable. I'd know a Burberry bag anywhere and i have never owned anything from them, saw their commercials twice and thats about it Its just very recognizable and sticks into your memory.

What is unstated is that this is probably her one “fancy bag.” She is wearing it to a “fancy” event because she wants to impress. Plus, she doesn’t discretely leave it in a closet or slide it under a table or behind a chair somewhere. She is wearing it as if she is at the store running errands and is worried that someone will take it. It further shows a lack of confidence or security or knowledge of self or place. Tom is calling her out because he knows of what he speaks: He too is a stranger in this strange land.

@@EughhBrothereughh They are trying to make it a fashion house. If everyone who bought the brand originally die, then yes it can be a fashion brand in 20 years. Now this is just laughable. I like some of their things, but come on, it is one tier above RL, not even at the Bogner level of quality. Sure they make other things asides from outerwear, but if you had my parents in a communist country wear this as everyday outfits, you know it has 0 prestige to it.
