The worst part is that LED screens have been shown to work at concerts before (see HoloFES). The problem is that there is ZERO attempt at filling the rest of the stage and making everything in the performance blend in, oh my god.
My hope is that they have improved that by the time they arrive in europe. There seem to be very small improvements every show.

Thats right, even the Nico Nico douga concert from 2022 actually usted a led screen but It was wider, and even if It was pretty noticeable the animators Made a really good job by blending It with colorful backgrounds and shades that Made the illusion of the singers actually being 3D.

I went to the San Jose show and good lord. My friends and I were talking about how we were making fun of the VTuber concert and here we are, watching a virtual artist through a TV screen.
The Vtuber concert was actually for free (you had to pay a little fee if you were in cosplay I think?) and the Vtuber holding it had little budget and didn't expect for the negative press around it but at least the Vtuber guy actually is pretty nice unlike crunchylol and this expo

I think Crypton are just lazy workers (weird in Japanese work culture), selling the rights to Crunchyroll and then feck off into the distance. What do we care what they do know on the other side of the pond.

Im genuinely thinking of selling my tickets (my closest concert is May 14th) because this is just insane. The ticket presale, the merch presale, the SCREEN?? and coachella had it too it wasn't absent to be there
i went as my first ever miku concert, it was still super fun id just recommend getting closer to the stage
The small size of the display surprised me, but the fans were going insane and I had a ton of fun too. The cosplay was intense and I was able to hang out with complete strangers and talk about Japan and Miku after the show. I had a monocular with me as well that let me zoom in, although my neighbors were waving their light pens so hard my seat was shaking. I was not dissapointed. The only thing I didn't like was that the lines for merch were an hour long, I floated around to see all the cosplayers instead.

I think the only main problem is the fact that they didn’t even try to blend the LED with the background. If they at least tried to make it look more presentable I don’t think it would be a big issue.
Also, the way merch was handled was terrible. My blind dog could do better

I waited almost 3 hours despite being there an hour early to get into the tiny ass rented out store that only 10 people were allowed in at a time and they had nothing left in Europe 2020

But seriously, even though I would still probably have a good time, I’m glad I didn’t buy tickets because the closest one to my home was like a 6 hour drive away during finals week. I’ll just wait until I can visit Japan.
They have shows in Europe in October, November. I don't know how it's available to you but tickets are with 63-90 $ (not VIP) way cheaper and it's not made by Crunchyroll (at least nothing was presented).

Just watched Miku's solo concert on Coachella and omg, it's so sad.
The hype was 90% non existent. World Is Mine sounded so muffled 😭
It also felt SO LONELY. Like, I knew the other Piapro Characters weren't able to appear, but it felt so empty. It's also the TV and void-esque stage.

People make it out to be way worse than it actually is. Internet loves to complain, but in reality it's still a fun event. Realistically the only way you can possibly make it bad is if you convince yourself that it is, so you might as well go in with optimism.
Never let Crunchyroll take over Miku Expo in the future. We don't want *ANOTHER* disaster happening next year.
I really really considered going this year but I'm so glad I didn't. They could have at least added a background or some other visuals to make it fit with the stage. I hope next year's Miku Expo is better...

This was my first Miku concert, and our tickets were insanely expensive due to scalpers. I'm talking many hundreds of dollars for 1 ticket. I've always wanted to go to a Miku concert, so this was my big dream. And I can say, without a doubt, that it being a screen DID NOT RUIN THE EXPERIENCE! It was epic, and everyone was suuuuper hype. It definitely was badly organized (couldn't get a single piece of merch on venue, had to buy shirts online but penlights were out of stock there too), but to act as if the experience is thus completely meaningless because it could have been better is ridiculous imo. Yeah, I'd like to see Miku projected rather than on a screen one day, but that concert was so much fun still.

This was my first introduction to Miku, I had my expectations on the floor. Unexpectedly I was truly blown away, from the 9th row center, she looked 3d and life size to me, I was lucky to have a good seat. Hoping I can see the hologram next year!
Damn that sux. I saw her 2015 in Seattle, and it was jaw-dropping. They played a version of Glass Wall i cannot find anywhere but i still remember the bass drop shaking the building.
Ngl I went to the Dallas show and it was a lot better than I was expecting. The screen was not bad at all in person. Tickets and were cheap as dirt too only 11 bucks.
yeah, I went to the Denver one with my dad, and honestly, it was actually a lot better than I thought it was gonna be, and we got our tickets for 12 bucks a piece. plus, there was no way I'm missing out on Hatsune Miku coming to where I live. Hell, my dad knows nothing about Miku or Vocaloid, but he was really into it. While I would have liked to see the hologram, just getting to see the characters I grew to love so much sing and dance right in front of me no matter how they did it was 10000000000% worth it for me, and I hope to do it again.
Okay as someone who’s first Miku Concert was yesterday it was actually pretty fun and while having fun I competed forgot a screen was there but it was still so much fun
been a vocaloid fan for 14 years now (since i was little) and was going to try and get tickets but ultimately chose not to because of their price and the setlist. if this had been my first vocaloid concert i would have Karen'd it uppppppppp. word of advice to everyone saying they're fine with it because they've waited so long to see vocaloid live, never let a company trick you into settling for poor quality products and services for far more money just because of hype, or they'll find more ways to take more of your money and cut more corners. no way they won't try to get away with ripping fans off again if they feel like they can
if you had fun, that's well and good, but you still paid more than people did years ago for less than people got years ago. we have to raise the bar!
that's why resellers are selling their tickets for so cheap, I think people should definitely experience it for themselves and not have to pay a buttload of money expecting something different.

I've been a Hatsune Miku and Vocaloid fan ever since Project Diva F game came out. And my first ever Vocaloid song was The World is Mine Live Concert Miku Expo song. No matter what happens with Miku Expo, I'll always be a die hard Vocaloid fan. Hatsune Miku is the best. And Vocaloid music will always be my favorite to listen to.

I was actually really pleasantly surprised by the LED screen. Doesnt beat being able to see through it like with the holograms, but it was really very good. It was especially nice not having the glow around them like on the hologram screens. My phone camera could actually focus on them.
If this is the future, I think I'll still be okay with it.
That being said, crunchyroll and ticketmaster fumbled real hard. Why were standard tickets 4x the price they used to be?
@@DavidNightjet I don't think CrunchyRoll is to blame for all of this, cus there are some shows that happened that weren't sponsored by them so I think it's a Crypton thing, like Coachella for example.
