Who do you want to see manage Liverpool and Barça next season?!👇
Liverpool: Alonso
Barca: Klopp
Alonso to Liverpool. Don't care about Barca. Klopp to take Germany job.
Liverpool: Alonso or nagelsman
Barca Needs a person like Mourinho who can handle the shit, Barca's shirt is aggressive and heavy, and he also can build structure in his failure, we need a character like Rekaard who will make the hard decisions, or Alonso cause he is very good.
Lijnders for Liverpool
With regards to Barcelona as a destination for top managers - that hasn't actually been the case for as long as I can remember. I mean you're going back as far as maybe Louis Van Gaal in the 90s after he won the CL with Ajax for anything like that - just about all their managers since have been guys at the earlier stages of their career (and often had played for the club).
Rijkaard had been sacked at Sparta Rotterdam, Pep was running the B team, Tito was his assistant, Martino had only managed in South America, Luis Enrique didn't have much of a record to speak of, then there's Valverde & Quique Setien, Koeman wasn't a big name as a manager just a club legend, same with Xavi. So taking a chance on Alguacil at real Sociedad, Motta at Bologna or Michel at Girona wouldn't at all be out of character
I think thats the problem though, it's going with the obvious choices. The club needs changes. Football has evolved and Barca simply refuse to adapt with it. The club is constantly trying to find it's next "pep" to replicate the past, while everyone else to moving forward. The club needs something new and drastic. I would personally love a German manager in, to really emphasize physicality or the lack thereof in this Barca team.
Mitts would be a surprise; Brazilian (Italian) and non affiliated with the club. But I think that’s where Barca are at with pull as a club.
@@jakubstoklos7983I don't think Xavi changed his ideas much, that's more of the problem
I see the Thomas Frank connection to the Liverpool job a bit like replacing Ferguson with Moyes
I thought Hodgson
Right, just feels like a cheap copy of Klopp
Surely it’s pretty simple to understand the difference between “a quadruple” and “the quadruple”
Exactly my point! There is no quadruple without winning the Champions League. Just like you don’t win a treble with the Europa League.
(Dougie)
@@FootballDaily winning the 4 trophies Liverpool can win would be a quadruple but not the quadruple that would be the pinnacle of football. Like Liverpool did a treble in 2001 but it wasn’t the treble because of the cups it included.
Diet Quad. Quad lite.
It will be “the quadruple” until someone else does better.
@@FootballDailyfour trophies is a quadruple.
And if it happens, it will be the best quadruple the Premier League has ever seen, until someone does it with the champions league.
Liverpool & Klopp releasing that info when they did probably means they're about ready to start speaking to potential candidates. Cause when they do that the risk that info gets leaked becomes pretty high, so better to release it on your own terms. Additionally, the squad and the fans would now use it as fuel to send Klopp off with as much success as possible. Whereas if they win 1 or 2 trophies and then Klopp announces he's leaving would only cause depression with no upside
Thanks for the upload guys. Your hard work is appreciated. Keep up the great work ❤
In regards to Liverpool, FSG will probably name a Sporting Director first (perhaps even re-hire Michael Edwards). My two top managerial candidates are 1. Xabi Alonso 2. Ruben Amorim 3. Roberto De Zerbi 4. Hansi Flick or Julian Naglesmman 5. Thomas Frank
Why not just put Flick and Nagelsmann at 4 or 5😂
@@SeasonedRookie Don’t really have a good reason but I just couldn’t 😂
Been waiting all weekend for this one
Keep up the great content boys!
Great to see Dougie and Mccubbs..
Good ep lads, McCubs needs a couple soothers and a glass of water mind but im loaded with cold so I can sympathise 😂
Enjoyed us getting some European analysis this week, had a touch of the EFD haydays of old. Barca is still a massive pull regardless of financial situation even if I totally understand why they *shouldn't* be right now. Its just as mentioned wages of certain managers that would be the issue.
Alguacil would get my vote personally, think hes shown he can elevate younger players with Sociedad and Barca are going to need someone who can come in and get the most out of a squad thats full of promise. Not saying Nagelsmann, Michel or Tuchel couldn't do any of that but I think in terms of someone who's wages are achievable long term and plays a style that the support would buy into Alguacil seems to make a lot of sense
What the hell is that thumbnail of McCubbin? Haha
These thumbnails are cringe as hell. Pulling OMG faces regardless of the video.
Great chat here boys 👏👏
won’t be long till mccubbs is a rockstar & dougs is doing these vids alone
There is absolutely no chance Thomas Frank gets a chance at Liverpool. 2nd Choice is way too high.
Cool it with the thumbnails i feel like yall are testing to find out how wild the faces can get 😭
In all seriousness, Salah could be sold in the summer for £100m+, which could help rebuild the squad. It's probably worth doing if there is a structural overhaul. As much as I wouldn't want to lose him, sometimes the team comes before the player
Doubt you'd get 100m for Salah. A more versatile player in Harry Kane didn't even fetch that. 75m seems more realistic.
He'll be 32 in the summer and very few clubs can afford to take on an older forward at that money. PSG have failing forwards in droves. Madrid will have eyes for others. Newcastle and Chelsea are trashed. Who else? Would he throw the rest of his career away for Saudi money?
@alexchetverik3982 Saudi's offered 150m last summer. He is still clearly our best forward and he is so sought after by them that they will pay over the odds to get him
As a Muslim player he has shown a desire to go there, similar to Benzema
@@alexchetverik3982Saudi will obviously make a massive big again. He’d be their star asset
@@chrisnicholson5032 The Saudi league are struggling to get any eyeballs, the stadiums are empty, a large number of big name signings are trying to leave their contracts. There is no guarantee the Saudi royal family will continue to want to throw good money after bad. Salah is clearly still at the top of his game, and competitive - I can't see him wanting to go to a poor quality, nobody could care less about, league no matter how much money is throwing towards him.
He clearly loves playing in Europe and the CL - moving to Saudi is just an admission by anyone that they are greedy and they don't think they are any good any more.
From a Liverpool fan, there's nobody we can get to perfectly replace Klopp and everyone knows that. Of course, the fans want Xabi and I would like him too but tbh I genuinely wouldn't mind any of Nagelsmann, De Zerbi or Thomas Frank. Ive always liked Thomas Frank's work at Brentford and his general tactical switches and persona is really promising and hiring him would be a Liverpool esque move imo. Nagelsmann would be the most elite appointment, Xabi would be the most emotioal appointment but Frank could genuinely be the smartest option.
Quality video
Are Dougie and McCubbs the only 2 left
Joe will do Sunday vibes sometimes, other than that yeah I’m pretty sure it’s these two
Last man standing
That thumbnail is hilarious
big up the boys
We can't go from Klopp to Frank and not experience a lot of churn in our elite players. We need a young hungry top manager.
Gna be good to look at this in 5 years time, but in 3 years time i think it'll be:
Liverpool - Xabi Alonso
Man United - Tuchel
Man City - De Zerbi
Arsenal - Arteta
Tottenham - Postecoglou
Chelsea - Idk lol maybe Thomas Frank?
And tbh even though its been amazing having Klopp as our manager and Pep also in the league, when both of them leave, the PL could be such a close fought contest (yes these managers aren't as big names as Klopp and Pep but this could be really good for the Prem)
I am surprised that you didn't mention de zerbi and flick as candidates for barca. Especially de zerbi would be a great fit
From a Liverpool fans prospective it has to be Alonso. Thomas Frank would unfortunately not demand the respect of VVD, Salah, or Trent all of whom have contracts running down. Nagelsmann has a patchy history in regard to leaks to BILD etc. De Zerbi is one dimensional and a big risk. The only other candidate that isnt Xabi would be Ruben Amorim however 90% of Liverpool fans want Alonso.
Xabi understands the weight of expectations at the club, he would have the backing and patience of the fans on his side, and hes been coached by some of the best managers in recent history. Hes also a serial winner who would demand respect from the big characters in the dressing room. The prospect of our young players like Bajcetic, Jones, Elliott etc learning under his tutelage would be very exciting indeed.
The appointment of Xabi Alonso is almost too perfect to imagine anyone else succeeding Jurgen
40:40 totally agree! It’s also his boyhood club
Very interesting
alonso and arteta seem like the best picks but on a wild card lets go slot for liverpool and guardiola back at barca once city get done for the 115 haha
I'm sorry but Thomas Frank screams David Moyes at united
For Barca, I would be partial to Michel, Thiago Motta or Alguacil. I am curious 👀 about Nagelsmann.
Any chance for a team talk ?
I actually think Simeone would be a good fit for Liverpool as he has had for 10yrs had to compete with some of the best Barca and real teams with a fraction of their budget,he plays high pressing football these season and his atleti team it you watch the laliga or even watched the supa copa or Copa del ray game vs real have become an offensive team rather than a defensive team, the players fight for him, just watch a game of their, you see someone like griezman who,s a superstar in his 30,s running for 90min,pressing,defending and you see they really want to impress him,he gets the best out of his forwards,we saw with costa, even suarez when he was thought finished after Barca and now morata,a real and lsea flop.he can work on a limited budget without getting into conflict with the management as we,ve seen with atleti
Simeone would be terrible for us as a Liverpool fan. He plays highly negative, foul-first football, and has only scored 2 goals a game in one full season ever (13/14, where his AM scored 77 goals in 38 games). Even this season, when he is apparently "more offensive" they have only scored 42 goals in their 21 games - and La Liga is easier to score goals in.
The last time they were involved in a title fight, they did win it (2022/21) - but with one of the lowest total goals scored in the history of the league (67). Nobody thought Suarez was "finished" - he averaged a goal or assist every 95 mins for Barce in his final 2 seasons there (despite injuries), but they couldn't afford to keep him; At AM it was a much worse every 118 mins, so he was significantly worse playing for AM compared to Barce those last 2 years.
And their performance in Europe has been significantly below averages last few years - 4th in a very average CL group in 22/23, scraping through with only 7 points in 21/22 before being beaten by an average (in CL terms) City after beating a below average Utd by 1 goal in the next round; being thrashed by Chelsea the year before (who scraped 4th in the PL) in 20/21; etc.
Alonso or Nagelsmann for me. The key incoming apart from the manager is the director of football. they must get that right. Someone of the same calibre as Michael Edwards allied with Alonso or Nagelsmann would be great. In terms of player exits: Salah will be sold for big $$$ at the end of the season; VVD will stay and will only go for big $$$; Thiago will go.
Not sure Salah will be sold unless we are bringing in Mbappe/Vini Jr - Saudi league has already lost its appeal, with zero people following it, and all the "influencers" who were being paid to tout it at the start losing interest. Salah is also ultra competitive and wouldn't want to not play in the CL - and not sure anyone else is still paying large sums for an older player.
Thiago can go - his contract is ending in the summer, and he is so injury prone, we should not be looking to extend. Key signings will be 1/2 CBs (as Matip is also going, due to contract ending; and I'd like more cover as good as Quansah is). We're set at RB with Bradley, should be good for LB (Gomez has been excellent, and can play there if we do get 2 new CBS instead of just 1 to directly replace Matip). Unless we can get a truly world class "destroyer" DM (I would like Andre, and he would be very cheap coming from SA, so am surprised we've not heard more about him this month), don't need new Midfielders (Szobslai is great, Curtis has had a very good season, Gravy has clearly got something, Mac Allister is fantastic, then we've got Baj to come back, Elliot is class, etc). And as long as Salah stays, a phenomenal attack.
So we won't need the money Salah brings in unless we *are* signing not just a "great" replacement, but an actual top 3-5 players in the world player.
McCubbin inhaling like a maniac after every sentence is rattling
Could be asthmatic and didn’t take his inhaler
i think franchesco farioli and michel would be exelent apointments at liverpol
Bill Shankly to Bob Paisleyy...Jurgen Klopp to Xabi Alonsoo
I disagree.a back 3formation might actually be what Liverpool need as pple forget but Robertson was awful before he got injured coz of the way he was used,it would give him and Trent more tactical freedom and would negate the need for a wc dm and might unlock pple like jota and gakpo more as they are play their best football centrally not in the wide areas.even Salah these days
Barcelona was never about spending money for success. They produce from La masia , those are the successful years. Now they are bringing up lots of young talent from academic , I can see bright future soon. Watch out
Just a query. This channel puts out one video per week, but the editors CBA with putting timestamps in, not very helpful.
Would be delighted with Alonso as a Liverpool fan, but would love a Luise Enrique for a couple years before hand tho.
Sorry Dougie but if a team wins 4 major trophies, that is by definition a quadruple, and considering nobody has done it in England, it would be THE only quad achieved. Fyi I think it's probably not possible.
"If Liverpool want to try winning titles immediately after Klopp then maybe not Thomas frank" What?? You think the players they have are going to be like oh well it's ok, we're fine with just trying for top 4 thanks.
A single season isn't sufficient to assess Alonso's managerial abilities. The proposition of Alonso as the next Liverpool manager seems to stem primarily from his status as a former player. However, appointing Alonso carries substantial risk, as we haven't witnessed how he would handle both European competitions and the domestic league. Klopp's ability to navigate both tournaments during his time at Dortmund illustrates the importance of managerial experience. Even Leicester managed to win the league under Ranieri, showcasing that a successful single season doesn't necessarily translate to sustained success.
Wrong on at least one count - we do have evidence on how he would handle both European competitions and the domestic league - bloody well. Best performance of any team in the Conference League (and massive favourites for it - so by end of season we would see if they win it) and top of the bundesliga (first time in over a decade that a non-Bayern team are top after this many games, and are threatening to win it all).
Alonso's performance this season is far superior to Ranieri's at Leics, at least IMO - pre-Pep City were incredibly inconsistent and barely scraped 4th; Chelsea had "third season worst manager in the league" Jose, who tried his best to relegate them; Brendan was at the end of his career at Liverpool and we had a bad team; their closest rivals were spurs, who did Spurs things, and managed to finish 3rd in a 2-team title race. Leics won the title with 81 points - normally not enough for 2nd.
Whereas Bayer are currently leading the Bundesliga against a Bayern who are a dominant domestic team who have just bought England's best ever striker (probably) and is already on 23 goals for the season - even if he "only" comes 2nd, and continues winning in the ECL - that is still a phenomenal acvhievement.
I really think that well keep next manager appointment in house like we used to. It'll be ljinders next
i would be hounding carlo ancelotti and give
him 2 year contract and tell xabi alonso keep doing what your doing and you come in after carlo
because it’s huge to replace a klopp and at least carlo will come in demand respect not change much and bring confidence to the dressing room where as if xabi comes in straight away the players might not have it going from a winner like klopp to a novice like alonso in comparison
Carlo was at Everton though so that’s a big no with the fans and the club
@@macaulaymcgregor768i don’t think liverpool fans care and i don’t think carlo will either because i certainly don’t maybe everton fans will though
Why would he downgrade from his Real Madrid job
First off. King Dougie.
Second, as both a Liverpool and a Barcelona fan, this is the worst week of my life.
Rijkaard did Oranje at EURO 2000
It is definitely a quadruple lol
As soon as you said Rodgers was a good appointment you lost me! The last thing we need is to go back to anything like Rodgers!
When we appointed klopp, he had actually won stuff. Alonso has won jack yet
i could take the barcelona job
Dougie: Would anyone have imagined 5-6 years ago that a real sociedad manager would be taking over at barcelona?
Also Dougie: After Alonso, Thomas Frank (A Brentford manager) would be my favourite for the liverpool job
I said Nagelsmann, McCubs said Frank?!
Barcelona are also a bigger club than Liverpool!
(Dougie)
Think both of you have been quite disrespectful with the liverpool managers
Stepping stone to Madrid and other clubs and then "you can't go from Tottenham to Liverpool"
Why?
We went to 3 champions league finals in a 5 year period, one of which was beating Tottenham, we were 4 games away from THE quadruple....when was the last time spurs won a trophy ?
Even mentioning Graham Potter but not mentioning names like Zidane proves my point
Do I want Zidane, no I'd like Alonso but we are closer to a Zidane style appointment in stature than a Potter
Put the respect we earned on our name!
Frank would end up like Rodgers
Klopp to Napoli
Alonso to Liverpool. De Zerbi to Barcelona.
It's Lijnders, not Linders
Lol, no Liverpool fan thinks you can just replace Klopp. 😂😂
Can u go back to football punditry every day?
Nagelsman was so right, muller doesn't start although he still plays well when he comes on but on deligt, spot on,an average player living off his ajax hype.slow and makes useless sideway passes, his long passing and switches of play aren't good and he just isn't that good,at least nor good enough for where Bayern want to be.even tuchel doesn't like him and drops him every chance he dan
*every chance he can
Me planning to go Lidl after watching this video 👀. Am I just like Barca.. poor?
Someone just said four titles isnt a quadruple, I'm out 👋
NOT A PRAYER THAT THAT NAGELSMAN SPACE CADET WILL GET OUR NEXT MANAGER JOB.
He's not really got much experience managing at top level. His one big job at Bayern was a disaster. Man thinks he's THE new footy genius. Even Bayern had enough of him but when his next job offer came along at spurs amongst others and the cheeky get thought he was calling the shots.
SAUSAGE!
Thomas Frank is definitely not a Liverpool manager by absolutely any logic guys and also Graham Potter you guys if you have no hetter options don't mention those two their mindset is that of a mid table club
Liverpool vs leverkusen in Europe
I think xabi alonso should go Liverpool and Michel should go Barcelona
rafa marquez has my vote
What Liverpool fan thinks it’s capable to replace klopp
Klopp he’s off to
Barca wait how fans will the owener to leave after they know the reason
No offense but where PATO!
Sad.
Barcelona need to move on from the past. It is finally time for a modern big name. My pick would be Nagelsmann
Hearing the spit swallow every two seconds is horrendous
Guys I really don't get this negative propaganda everytime Barcelona is the topic of conversation. Yes Barcelona made mistakes in the transfer window but for who? Xavi, look at the team he inherited in his first match and look at the team that got humiliated against Bilbao and Villarreal, not against man City or Bayern.
I'm not a big pan of laporta at all(preferred font), but whatever he does he's not gonna win.If he backs xavi, then the players he signed was not good,if he doesn't then xavi was left to dry. The only signings Xavi didn't approve was cancelo and Felix which btw even though they aren't pulling any trees, they did save Xavi's ass from losing and getting sacked before December.
And this constant undermining of Barcelona and it's attraction. When it's United that's been spoken about "it's still Manchester United" but when it comes to Barcelona "are they even attractive?". Guess what, that's what happens at big clubs, look at Madrid they had to go back to Zidane and Carlo twice because all other managers failed. Look at Bayern, how they destroyed Julien. Don't be so biased by your hatred.
🎉🎉
Mmmmmmm yes... the human elements of a human.... mmmm indeed
Liverpool haters Daily
“It’s not a quadruple, it’s just 4 trophies” …wtf?!? Does this blockhead know what quadruple means?
Liverpool need to replace Klopp with a big name, someone who has won Titles.
Forget about De Zerbi, Thomas Frank or Ange - they won't handle the pressure at Liverpool.
Ange would definitely be able to handle the pressure. He’s won trophies at every club he’s been too. There’s enormous pressure when managing Celtic. Expected to win every trophy every season which isn’t an easy task. While also having the expectations of performing in the champions league against teams with 6x the budget
What kind of Pressure is in Liverpool-- a middle table club before ----Tell 4 consecutive years liverpool played in the UEFA champions league..... It was always under dog-- Liverpool won 2006 Champion league--- what position were they in EPL----- Liverpool 2019 against Barcelona was lucky.
These thumbnails are cringe as hell. Pulling OMG faces regardless of the video.
Tell us again how we're not going to replace Klopp while we pull the crayons out of our noses! The ego of this man, thinks he's Gandhi! 🤦♂️
Barca will be relying on their past heritage to land a half decent manager coz they can't pay for one lmfao
Frank should go to Newcastle
