Check out the castle area behind where you start. Places just right there's like 5 levels you can mess with. I am planning a pretty unique setup utilizing that different levels. It is starting level with couple stone and trees to start the first base it's pretty cool idea imo

-264, -268 is gorgeous on a plateau overlooking the world and a lush forest, also there’s a skill tree I little ways up the cliff
Built on the beach behind where you spawn.
Raid enemies glitch and get stuck on the ledge since they don't path to the point where they climb down, allowing you to just fly up and kill them with ease.
and it's a nice open beach area next to a dungeon
At 7:29 in the video you can see the two light rings on a building, I set up shop in the middle of that. With good placement the entire outer ring is the max dimension. It's all level and no raids have ever occurred. As well as a pretty good very of the snowy area and the city below
I built my base in the same spot! Some struggle with the foundations as they can't be built in the middle of the smaller ring but I was able to resolve building around rings and then continuing to build vertically, definitely the best base spot! (There are also chests which respawn after some time, very usefull)
@jackez0906 I have been struggling to place foundations, how exactly did you go about building around the rings? Did you just create a cylinder like base that goes up and around?
@@aidanclayton4048 I just built foundations wherever was possible (so outside the smaller ring), the "base" is like a ring (or a donut 😂).
I wanted an high roof at least 3 "meters" tall for every single floor and also stairs to reach every floor.
The zero floor stairs which connect the first floor were built facing the middle of the ring (and where is the pal box) as stairs can be build ever where foundations can't (only for few space btw) and for the stairs which connect other floors between them I simply built stairs on the "foundations surface" of every floor.
If my explation was too tricky, I'm going to upload a short video tour of my base in order to clarify what I did 😂💪

These seem mostly geared toward mining base locations -- while appreciated, I find that a main base performs best with in the flattest areas and the least amount of distractions for Pals (ex. no trees, stone, ore). I would consider some of these to be good as secondary bases, however.
What are your suggestions for good large, open flat areas? I'm struggling to find a good main base to settle on

@@MentalMonkey2525 There's a lot I'll give you a few examples. Marsh Island (358, -306), Forgotten Island (-460, -31), Ice Wind Island (-301, 5), Eastern Wild Island (474, -159). All of these have a lot of open flat areas, as you fill out your map there's a lot of dirt patches that are often flat areas for building a base.
Been looking for this comment for a while now as its exactly what I found too. I now have a Base 2 mining base for coal and ingots/production lines and if needed I can use the monitor stand to toggle harvesting wood as and when required. This way my main base (Base 1) can be flat with no trees and can focus on food/breeding without the nodes and trees distracting them or else you always have crap on the ground lol. Base 3 can be a temporary one for remote fast travel access....e.g. Nature Reserves, Desert, etc

thank you i looking for location around volcano, and snow because is the best location for my potato pc, that map its the most stable map with less framedrop.
Mount flopie summit base also has 8 ore nodes right off the side of the cliff they will be included in the base area if place right
My Tipp large flat spaces without trees in them.
There should be more in relaxaurus lux area high up on the mountain as well. Raids wont be able to reach just like the one near chillet. Medium size n partially slops n more to flat depending how u setup ur palbox.

Second location actually have 7 more ores just closer to the edge furthest from the fast travel.
A few of them are the absolutely worst options... Like the castle and desert plateau before it. Ledges means more places for the pals to spawn out of safety and possibly be trapped until you go and reset them whenever it happens. Unless it's just a base for show and no practical use of course.
I’m on a cliff and mine don’t spawn off the cliff. Just build a solid foundation and they’ll stay within bounds

What's a good spot to make a dedicated breeding/ cake farm that can't get raided since will have low level/ weak pals
Id say the beach are behind the first spawnpoint inside the castle area, npcs get dtuck trying to go down from the castle area and eventually just leave
-475 -82 completely flat and so far no single enemy can reach the my base, they just stuck below and you can kill them easily because they never counterattacking you.
Yeah some of these you mentioned can’t be built in because Area is close to a boss.

Most CZcamsrs: You really should have your bases at resource nodes, else you're wasting your time.
Me: I prefer not so flat areas that look beautiful, like I'm in a forest or what not. ..If only I could tell my pals to STOP chopping the trees down and use the logging thing!!

doubtful, i think its balanced out by the difficulty of building there. its not nearly as convenient as a flat open area.
I just use that spot as an outpost, every other day or so I'll go there, toss out a personal digtoise with the collar and a handful of swift flyers with logistics and afk for a few minutes then pack back up (until they fix derendered base automation @@zeebaka

Nah you won't lose any,done it a couple of times.
some of your items at base will break but the mats will stay on the ground so you can collect and rebuild elsewhere

You definently dont know good spots for a base. Pals glitch throug the foundations and you need flat areas. you recommend build on a plateu for whatever reason. maybe in a future update where you need to defend for pvp but atm your only good spots are the ore farming one.

most of these are actually horrible options for building a functional base, all you did was find spots that look cool and put no real effort into testing a single one of these locations, pals will get stuck at most of these and be K.O'd due to lack of food
