Pillars are one of my favorite things about the update!
I've added stone pillars all through all the walls of my bases & now my buildings not only look tougher now, they don't have the awkward gap you can see when looking closely at connected walls.
& thanks to this video, I now have a deeper understanding of how they work & I like them even more now!
yesss they look really good even as just a filler for walls! and fantastic, thank you for the comment! 👊
So next give us triangle foundations, half walls and PLEASE a square instead of a circular base shape!
Such a W addition to the game. Already looking to revamp my cliffside base.
oh thank god, this makes placing bases near a body of water so much more convenient.
Pillars are amazing; all of the benefits of a foundation with none of the drawbacks with what I'd like to call "backwards compatible snapping". Being able to snap pillars to existing roof tiles makes building on slopes so much easier. It let be build something akin to a land based oil rig on Mount Obsidian to keep the oil pumps out of site (since they don't need to be maned) with a perfectly flat factory floor well above it. And then when I realized that I could really use a pathway down to the oil extractors so I could have a transport pal collect it instead of myself, it was super easy to make a new set of pathways down there going from pillar to pillar with roof tiles and stairs. If you're building on essentially a flat pad (the game includes a number of such areas that encourage such base building) then foundation pieces do well enough, but anywhere else and pillars beat foundations in every way.
Man i spent so much time trying to make a flat surface there... because placing your palbox on a foundation and accidently deleting said foundation is too tedious to ever try that again.
@@Quintessence4444 I tried making my first major factory (on my second playthrough) in a dessert island coal area that was nothing but slope because I thought it'd be a really cool looking multi-tier base. I gave up after several hours of failing to get higher elevation foundations to line up because foundations don't snap to roof pieces (as far as I'm aware) leading to a base that looked completely jank that I couldn't make multiple stories for lack of support in the right places. If pillars were a thing back then, that base would have been a breeze to build and I'm sure would have looked amazing (barring the fact that there'd be gaps where the walls can't go into ground I'd need to plug in some way).
So pleasure vid! Rly enjoyed it. Keep up the good work!
They need to incorporate the Less Restrictive Building mod into the game natively.
It's a very forgiving game, and the patches keep making it even more forgiving. Wait and see. It could get there.
Building in this game is still pretty scuffed.
I know it's not the main point of the game, but it's still a pretty important part of it. Hope they can continue to improve it. There are like 50 other survival games for them to take inspiration from when it comes to better building.
Please make a video showing how to make an incredible and beautiful base like yours. Hail from Brazil 🇧🇷
Also if you build a 2nd floor covering the entire zone you can delete everything supporting it except for a single pillar and it'll support everything somehow. Idk how that works but it did when i was destroying my bases to relocate for oil.
I've not really messed with the new stuff yet, I started over on a public server. But, I did notice that my base by Penking is no longer immune from raids.
HA!
That's EXACTLY where I build my glass bridge.
The glass trangle on glass, is working for me on pc.
Really wish i knew this before i build 4 new oil bases. It would've been a godsend at the base with 3 oil nodes.
First video I've seen of yours, very great and informative! I'm curious, how did you get your bases to be so big?
as a builder, i also love the new pilar, and potential for building nicer looking stuff, but i gotta know what armor are you wearing
Playing as Saya? Wow, modders are fast.
the whole ass update was barely out an hour or two when I saw this mod pop up lmfao😭
Love the pillars, it helps my base have a more open space rather than all the walls I had to use for support. I don't know how to flip the triangle walls to be upside down on console and I have spaces everywhere that really bug me! xD. They really need to make building less restrictive as it seems to hamper my build projects I need for my sanity rather than spend hours trying to fix one thing that could easily be remedied.
You actually can't flip triangular walls upside down. This has bothered me so much since the first time I played the game. It's the no. 1 feature I'm waiting for every update.
Edit: you can't on console, pc or any platform AFAIK.
Cool thanks,I had no idea there were pillars and you could do that, just updated it the other day and still finding out new things,so this definitely helps,thanks.....btw I think they should let us increase the size of the circle of our bases to either make a massive base or a smaller one, that would be dope asf imo
hell yea, glad to hear it and yeah I agree, base size should have some sort of size scaling
@@priqe for real,I feel like I could create so much more cool looking buildings and since you told us about these pillars it's gonna make building stuff so much more satisfying, but an increasing or decreassing of the bases circle would be fantastic
Neat trick!
On Xbox if you left trigger while you’re trying to place stairs, you can place them down off of something
this video is super high quality and relaxing, i think you could gain a substantial following if you keep to what you're doing regarding palworld, thanks for the video and good luck man! :)
maby this is stupid question, but, if you build a fundation thats conected to yours base but this certian fundation is oudside the ,,base area" will be destroid after some times? or only building and chests etc will be destroid? soryy my eng is bad
Now all we need are rails
Like I have been wanting to move my house in Palworld for some time.. this might let me just do it hey :)
i just gotta ask is the outfit you have in game a mod or could it be obtained from the tower bosses on hard mode?
With that tower boss outfit I'm guessing you have to defeat the hard version of the tower boss twice to get the full outfit? Cause I only got their hairs unless there is a shop where they let you buy their outfits I don't know about. Good vid though.
Cool
Id why folks have issues with stairs u just have to look a certain way and somtiems your the aligin tool
I dont have any problems building stairs, if you use the change building mode key it ONLY builds them going DOWN. I want to be able to build them going UP! 🥲
No mod came with update press lt and hmmm I can build up I legit have to find a tiny spot where it will build up not down buy it does
Interesting addition to building. Artful base design is the one area of the game really lacking imo, but it's not so noticeable since there's so much else to focus on with a base.
I agree actually, bases typically have to be super space efficient and functional. But I think with them raising base limit up to 10 you can utilize some of those extra bases for just fun design! 🙌
how do I disassemble pillars that are underwater? made a mistake and it doesn't let me delete it, great vid btw.
Thats pretty cool now i just need them to add about 3x the content thats currently available in the so i can come back and actually play without clearing everything in one night
I need a day 1 server... =x this update are to good to play alone.
How did you get that clothing
U know what. I had to rebuild my town base since pillar is out....
And now im just thinking. Should i just left this game for a year for it to release all the necessary update to building and functionality?
if you plan to rebuild everytime, then maybe! you can just make a new base tho as they add new materials and things!
Is it just me or is there a size difference in base build areas between steam and xbox?
Nuanced building tutorial.
oh i dont need to bother some connect with bottom fondation anymore huh.. thx for info.. try make one off cliff base than...
*Did they ever increase your palbox radius*
It’s one reason I stopped playing. So small of a circle
no :-( that is 100% something they need to do tho i agree, i have to use a mod bc its so small lol
Can't grenediers toss a single grenade over your wall and take out a whole cluster of pillars at once?
WAIT, how did you get that outfit? omg
there are some real useful ones for sure! I use a unified inventory mod, 2x base range mod and additional bases mod
With the most recent palworld update, I can only play for 1-2 min at a time. Then it crashes
oof, i saw a few others have that problem, maybe can check the palworld discord if they have a fix?
Yall bases look way bigger than mine wtf. I feel like i don't have room for shit
Hm.... so the underwater piece is pretty much same thing as in valheim.
This could've been a 5 second video, all you needed to say was pillars from ark
@@priqe fair enough, it's still a pillar though, is it really rocket science?
Nah he did get into more specifics that aren‘t immediately obvious. Like how many tiles are supported is it the same as foundations or not (it‘s not). You can build over water but not by directly placing a pillar in it but by starting from the shore and building over the water and place pillars down from there. You can align pieces directly in the middle between two walls with them.
Those are all technicalities that aren‘t immediately obvious and shows he‘s done a lot of testing with the pillars. He basically shows everything what‘s possible and what isn’t possible with them. Justifies more than just 5 seconds imo.
@@x3SayuriChan yea they are technicalities, but certainly stuff you would easily have found out on your own within seconds, especially if you have any sort of building knowledge from any number of games, even if you haven't played ark
WUB WUB IN THE CHAT
This is all cool but does not help ppl to realise that this isnot game about building XD
well it is a survival craft, craft being the term that makes it about building and crafting!
Building houses is the most irrelevant things in this game. You do not need them for any reason what so ever.
@@priqe no way! You don't say???? You're clearly not a very bright one. I never said anyone couldn't do whatever they wanted. All I did was express an opinion that wasn't even targeted at anyone at all. Don't hurt yourself trying to think little guy
wut u doin down here
