- These surfboards were made from the Greenlight mini surfboard hobby kit. I used some additional materials including extra resin, fiberglass, resin pigment and fins I made from scrap resin. If you are looking to get some experience before building your first surfboard, this kit is a great introduction.

I do a lot of small crafts with resin and I nearly cried when I saw all the waste. You really should get yourself some small molds like coasters & ashtrays, that's what I pour all my junk resin in. The coasters you could put your logo on and either give them with the board or sell. Really cool boards, I live in Florida, don't surf but I get it.
I up-cycle a lot of my resin with molds - shown on my Instagram account

These came out awesome! Eps takes a little getting use to when shaping. I suspect the mini boards are alittle harder to shape then a full size board.

hello im 15 years old and i want to build a surfboard. i saw a surfboard building kit on the website viral surf and i thought that you could maybe try it out and make kind of a review of it.

so I tried this and got it from my aunt for christmas. it sadly didnt work and I had no clue why. I watched all the videos, read instructions and was very persise with it! I messed up when doing the layer part. its the part where you put the resin ontop. anyways it kept folding its self and never worked
Dang man sorry to hear that! Sounds like the fiberglass cloth was bunching up on you. It helps if you pour resin down the length of the stringer at the start to help hold down the cloth and then lightly spread without too much pressure. Wearing gloves helps so you can use a finger to hold it down while you spread the resin into the cloth. Better to learn from mistakes before jumping into a full board. Better luck next time!
Mate having shaped glassed and sanded a triple stringer blank (full size not miniature) i feel you and can say that imo shaping is the easy part, glassing a board is where the skills are...it should be the glasser/sander that gets to put his name on the board not the shaper!!...hey at least u didnt ruin a ÂŁ300 triple stringer clarke foam blank that could have beena beautiful gun!đ€Šââïž

Awesome thanks man! I got a 12 x 7 x 7 and it was $100 on Amazon at the time. Itâs a little small for a longboard build but thatâs the space I had to work with in my garage.

Hi! Can I use spray paint on my board? Can I put the color between the resin coats? Or do I have to put the color under all the epoxy? Thanks!
You can use water based spray paint (acrylic paint) and spray it directly onto the foam blank before glassing. Or you can spray it on the finished board after sanding the hot coat. But not in between resin coats
