Welcome to my channel
My name is Koby and I am a surfboard shaper from Israel
For the last 7 years, I shape and build surfboards in my small workshop and now I will expand for more great projects using Epoxy resin such as River tables, woodworking, and more. I will upload surfboard building tutorials, shaping tools reviews, and great tips about working with epoxy resin art.
All my boards are made from EPS and epoxy resin and I like to go crazy with my resin! I will do swirls using tints and pigments, cloth inlays, weird shapes, and more.
I can talk about surfboards all day, so feel free to ask me any questions you may have and I will do my very best to answer them in the best way possible - Jak na to + styl
Sick! That looks amazing.
Magnifique
It looks almost like tie dye! Very nice.👍
beautiful colors and blend.
Very cool man. love the shape and the colors!
Thanks, i will upload picture when it is done 🙌🏽
Beautiful board. Thank you for the videos, you helped make my first epoxy resin swirl come out decent
You are welcome! Send me pictures over Insta 🤙🏼
Muito irado. Radical ao extremo! Mahalo.
Looks great!! Thx for sharing…🤙
Thanks 🙏🏽 happy you like it 🤙🏼
I love the tail and overall glass job. The board looks great. I can tell you put in the wrench time with the planer. Your video has really helped me with a 98 takayama terriakai sauce r10 ft remodel that I am going to try and pull off in the next couple months.
GOOD LUCK!
Oh man sooooo good. I haven’t watched one of your vids in a year or so… I’m just getting ready to glass my third board this week. That is tight doing an initial dark stain under your full pour. I love doing a swirl but I’m definitely not confident enough to do that within my pot time. Looks awesome bro!!!
Have someone with you to mix each color- you will nail it 🤙🏼
What paint you are using for your resin sir,?
Parabéns , ficou bonita!!!!
Hi Koby.
This is pure magic what you created with this board. Perfect !!! I really like it.
What kind of color do you use? is it acrylic base, special for epoxy, liquid or more like a cream? It would be great for me to get some details about the right color ; )
Thank you.
Matt from Switzerland
Special for epoxy, this liquid but more creamy. I got mine from Australia, search online epoxy resin pigment 🤙🏼
@@kobymaymonsurfboards7320 thank you for your help. I will try different samples before i do the colorwork on my Foilboard🙂
Ey! Amazing swirl. That looks beautiful. I have one question, do you pour all the tinted resins in the big bucket without mixing them too much? And also, the big bucket has another amount of mixed clear resin?
I have one base color and i add small amount of other color without mixing at all, the pour dose the mix. Yes it is recommended to use clear on top, this way the resin will not mix too much into dark color at the rails 🤙🏼
Great job, if its tinted epoxy will it still discolor over time? like yellowing if its only clear
The tint has nothing to do with discolouration- only the quality of the Epoxy and clear coat, i use kwik kick by Resin Research and it is the best by far. I have boards 7 years old that been outside alot still white. Not the same as it was but for sure NOT yellow
Great looking board. Quick question for you. For an EPS board, how do you work a resin tint without resin pooling in the foam and throwing the color (i.e. dark spots in the voids)? Do you seal it first?
First of all, I always seal the board, regarding the tint - the first color to hit the fabric will stay, never pooling into the foam, the dark spots will mix a bit into the rest of the resin but this is a part of the art 🎨
@@kobymaymonsurfboards7320 Awesome. Thanks for the reply!
@@kobymaymonsurfboards7320 hey! Great laminating process :)
That's it? Good flat seal without any kind of 0.5mm deep holes which usually appear after first layer of sealant?
And I got secound question, how do you get soooo good deepness of colour?
Is it more than 4% of tint? Or is this about having a good tint quality?
@@TheMrpownager good tint and 5% max. The sealing process should be good - the surface should be smooth without any holes, professional finish (or close to it)
🤙🏼
@@kobymaymonsurfboards7320 that's great! I might change my current tint since it's not that deep looking while i put it on white foam
thanks for your reply and advice!
Amazing videos 😍 I have a question for you : how many epoxy resin do you use for a whole process of a surfboard shaping ?
I use 100gr per 1ft for glassing (6ft board = 600gr total) and 50gr per 1ft for hot cote/gloss cote 🤙🏼 resin swirl is much more
@@kobymaymonsurfboards7320 thank you 🙏 so for exemple for a 6ft board you use 600 + 300 = 900 gr in total ?
@@louissej1097 nope, i will use 400+200 🤙🏼for one side (with the 2 layers of fiber) bottom i use a bit less..
You can surf the meddiyerenain?
100% great waves- not big but good 🏄🏻♂️
