This is a video I took at SEMA 2011 demonstrating how to window tint professionally. Window tint has been around for a long time. However, tinting curved glass, such as a back window has always been a challenge. Now you will learn a method that makes this a very simple process. Knowing a few of the tricks of the trade can make the job much easier.
Sit back and learn how the professionals at 3M do this. - Jak na to + styl
I'm sure she could do it faster, but she is demonstrating and answering a lot of questions as she goes. This was a demo at SEMA.
Sema is an awesome show for the car enthusiast. We have been there 3 years in a row.
I agree, lot's of great stuff to see there. I've been there a few times too. Thanks for watching!
Yes, they are just shaping the tint with heat to fit the glass from the outside since it is a curved glass. Once it is heat shrunk and fits, then they will apply it to the inside. Does this help answer your question? Thanks for watching!
She did an awesome job, very informative valuable info.
I applied tint for the first time today and it is definitely a skill. She does a good job, its a trade show, she's not trying to beat the clock and is explaining how the product is applied. I can see why the shops charge what they do to apply the film. Its tedious work.
@Formula400Pontiac opps...I posted on the wrong user. Thanks for letting me know. I posted it to the person asking. Thanks for watching!
3m crystalline is what I heard.
@PerfectShadeTX She says in the video that it is their best line of tint, but I can not remember the name. I will try to find out and get back with you.
Thanks for watching!
That's NOT a curved window !!! Try doing a corvette or vw bug then,,,,,,, make a video. I'm a master tinted of 30 years
@Formula400Pontiac She says in the video that it is their best line of tint, but I can not remember the name. I will try to find out and get back with you.
I shot this video at SEMA. I am not a tint expert, but I would think warm weather would be best. I know you want a clean environment to eliminate dirt from getting underneath the tint. Any tint experts out there that can help us with this question?
Yea, it was looking a little dodgy for a while but she did it! Thanks for sharing!
OMG I've been installing window film for 14 years. I could have literally tinted 2 of those mustang back glasses before she even got it shrunk! Absolutely the worst way to shink a back glass.
im no tinter but planning on it and even i agree!!
Robert Bennett hahaha, and she didn't finish tinting
Don't be so hard on her. You can tell she is new to this. Even i can see a rookie and i don't do this.
I'm fucking dying here they can't even handle it appropriately
Terrible!!!
She made heat shaping so much harder than what it is.
Good god.
hah people this is 3M's crystalline film. It's an entirely different beast then the simple films you're used to. You must shrink it uniformly with heat from top and bottom or you'll create distortion in the film. Built out of nearly 300 layers.
Yas 3m carestailin VERY hot Wark I'm job 3m
which side of the tint do you shrink?
That's just more work!!!!
They said it was 3M's top of the line, but I do not remember what is was called.
You can have you car tinted any time of year. It will dry fastest in hot weather though.
Ok quá chuyên nghiệp
Where can I buy 3m Window film rolls?
Beginning !!!
i think is 3m chrystalline ,wich is known as verry difficult to shrink , interesting method ....
What film was used?
I agree with Itint08
Try a 90's 4 door Saturn or 4 dr. Oldsmobile that's a curve...or 90's Ford Thunderbird that gets your hard card tools all full of that black junk trying to get the tint to stick in bottom corners...
Sn po pwd mg train ng tint
tint is not supposed to mounted from the inside??
aqui no brasil ponho pra ferve e coloco sozinho esse film ai em 10 minutos...se nao to morto...
Crystalline is the most expensive film they have....But there is a ceramic film out now but I dont know price...
WINCOS TINT is the BEST!!! CERAMIC!
she did fine, she was demonstrating at a trade show, not playing beat the clock. she might not be down in the trenches every day but she was knowledgeable, more "corporate" 3M, give the gal a break.
She did make it looks easy, though...
She must have all the time in the world when she tints a car
WINCOS FILM IS THE SHIT
3M please hire a installer
she does not have any knowledge in this work
Is it a slowest-shrinkers championship? :))))
Max 3 min to shrink this bg...
@8:10
not the most effective method, but everyone has their own i guess.
너무 어렵게하네요
This lady already had 2 creases in the first 6 minutes of her heating the material, she should have started from the middle and worked her way out.
talk about doing it the hardest & longest way 28.55 mins lol
Well she took forever... Shrink & install film on that back window 15 mins max...
3m piece of sheet, not good, I been doing window tinting for 18 years believe me. Llumar-Johnson-aswf. Are the best.
N make sure you don't have a belt buckle on to avoid etching the car paint job...$$$ out of your pocket...
THAT WINDOW SHOULD TAKE THEM AT LEAST 5 MIN TO MOLD AND INSTALL AT THE MOST.... FLAT ASS GLASS
Theres 3m film is okay.. I hate it.. I like Wincos and Suntek
U can use bouce or a bar of soup
it could be the best to shrink.she just look so awkward..she tried her best i guesss
If i tinted classes that slow i would starve to death :D proffesional my ass :D:D:D and that class isnt that curved what would she to with opel omega b universal she would tint it for a week :D
uhh okay haha now i know i was right haha
jajajajaj # 0
this bird is shocking!
The longest demo ever...
she has good technique, but it takes too long, there are other techniques faster and more efficient.
3M tint is not the best. Both Llumar and Solargard are better films and shrink nicer. I dont use 3M ever.
She's says topically way to many times
very very very bad. I'm sorry.
listen mate your not professional tinted installer.... i advise you seat and take a course, before you try to speak of it... alot stuff you said you didnt know how to explain.....take care...
God forgive her, because she does not know what she is doing!
This tinted job is not for a female CEO...i guess
She is so good at that.....diy demo huh? 🫤
