Why Kids' COVID Vaccines Are Different

  • We're talking about kids and the COVID-19 vaccine. When we filmed this video in early November, news of the approval for children ages 5-11 was just breaking. Now, almost five million children in this age range have received at least one dose of the vaccine, and there have been no reports of myocarditis in this age range! However this is still less than 20% of children in this age range, so we hope this video can answer remaining questions parents have, or be a place to ask more!

Do you have other questions about the COVID-19 vaccine and children? If you have an eligible child, have they been vaccinated yet?

Hi Alex, awesome content as always! It is reasonable that the vaccine for kids requires it's own independent trials. But if so can it be tuned for the current dominant variant as well? Or is it too risky?

I appreciate this video, I still think people shouldn’t be treated as irresponsible children for not getting it. More clear adult information and explanation of the facts are much more convincing than. Do what we say or lose your job. The myocarditis stats, vax vs contracting covid should be a bigger point to convince people the less risky option than getting the virus.

I haven't bothered with it. When I consider that only 18% or so of the population in my state have tested positive, and the side effects of the vaccine, I am following a policy of "Just say no to spike proteins." They had an invitro study where the spike protein was able to enter the nucleus and cause double stranded DNA breaks. That was Jiang 2021. Another study found a protein of the originally SARS-CoV called 9b was also able to enter the nucleus and trigger cell apoptosis (Sharma 2011). I am just not interested in something having an Epstein Barr virus style link to cancers.
With that said, if the vaccine protected against absolute infection of the lungs, I would probably consider the vaccine. Because the idea that the spike protein can potentially contribute to lung cancer is worrisome, and they believe there is a link between the original SARS and lung cancer. So, getting natural immunity is not exactly a risk free option, either. Thus, right now, I am just playing the percentages that I will not likely wind up infected. My plan is to not get infected, eat healthy and supplement with things that help minimize risk and severity, and save my vaccination status for a potentially brutal variant where a vaccine might be the overwhelming smart choice.

      Let's try a riddle...
      Zero successes.
      Can't know the reason.
      Always try again
      kid, don't give up.
      9 times I tried this.
      just to see no result.
      aaaand
      That's all folks!

You should both be wearing masks though, so that is kind of weird. Seeing as the vaccines do not prevent infection or spread of the virus.

This seems like a propoganda video, persuading people to do something. You make it seem like this is an easy question to answer but there are massive incentives to over report the danger of the virus and under report the side effects of the vaccine. Additionally, young people who develop natural immunity after recovering from a virus are a critical part of how we naturally develop herd immunity. The question of whether it is right to vaccinate children is only this cut and dried if you are not thinking critically.

@@i_am_lambda So stating facts is now "propoganda" ? If you're not swayed by facts then what do you get swayed by? Nothing? You have to come up with the right answer the first time without any inputs? Take a step back and think about this corner you're painting yourself into.

I should say I think it's a really well made video and I think Alex genuinely thinks she's doing a good thing. I guess I'm just concerned that the big pharma companies have some very shady practices and good people are being tricked into recommending some very questionable things
