First off, Great video Kev. You’d think a premium knife that has the price that the JWK have, would come perfectly centered. Then the fact that they only gave you 2 days to do a “review” is kind of crappy. I don’t see how a proper review can be done in 2 days? I do really like what JWK has been doing since coming out a few years ago but it almost seems like the first run or 2 were the absolute best and then they have kind of slowly went down in quality. The first run of the patterns were always in titanium and fat carbon/camo carbon or full ti and now it seems like quite a few are in acrylic which is generally a less expensive material. I just feel like the ones that have the acrylic inlays should be priced accordingly. Hopefully this comment isn’t taken as “bashing” or “hating” on JWK because that is not at all what I mean. I would still definitely recommend their knives and do very much like what they are putting out.
Hey man. They don’t ask for a review. They just send the knife and let me do whatever. So thats my own expectation i guess. And i just remember them sending them earlier before. But maybe they saw the excitement wane off if some ppl posted right away and others waited til the drop. Now everyone is going to try to post before the drop. Marketing wise i think it makes sense. For the quality, I haven’t really felt that. The Mini Cyborg is as good as it gets. Best walk n talk in the collection. I talked to Ben about the centering. He didn’t have a spare for marketing purposes to replace this one so it is what it is. I had to mention it of course because the one i’m reviewing/showing has the issue. But i said it’s not a huge deal because if you bought one, you could just return it or swap for another version or something. They definitely take care of their customers. I think what you are feeling is possibly the same as me, I just wish they stuck to slipjoints and we kept seeing new patterns. That excitement a year or 2 ago was an amazing feeling. It hasn’t felt quite the same with all the locking knives and fixed blade. But i understand why they do it, its a business, they want to grow. That said the products still feel dialed in, I carried my After Hours today and it’s a top 10 folder. Anyway, there are my 2 cents 🤣
Oh and the acrylics. I think its mostly to have variety in their releases. Ultem is popular. The resin stuff and kirinite stuff is interesting and definitely some have been the top sellers. I don’t think wanting those to be cheaper is quite fair because they also don’t charge more for the hand satin versions or DLC versions. So if its within a range they are just keeping it all the same so it doesn’t confuse dealers or customers. Also is easier for bookeeping and such if everything is priced the same. That would be my thinking on that.
@@LeftyEDC Fair enough. I must say, you are definitely correct. They do have amazing customer service and that makes total sense about the centering issue and about the acrylic vs hand satin/dlc blades.
I'm 99.9% sure the grin on that is a Saber grind🤔
A saber grind is like a compound grind, doesn’t denote the type of grind. So yes its a saber grind but the main bevel is hollow
@LeftyEDC it's definitely different from his other 2 looking knives. His locking knives are the same as your Divo knives with me. I have EVERYONE of them🤘

I'm not crazy about these tiny bearings for this size of knife. I may actually pass on this one for this reason.
I asked about it and Ben said it never was considered and hadn’t been brought up by the oem. He likes the cross compatibility of parts. Makes sense but i tend to agree larger bearings would have been nice.
