I've been watching too. everyone I know buying a home are GOING THROUGH IT! I don't want a headache trying to have a home. My dream is to buy a tiny house with vaulted ceilings, or a 3 bedroom duplex. my goal is to only buy what i need, and a big house isn't for me. when the home is huge SO IS THE LIGHT BILL, AND LANDSCAPING!
Those hard working stressed out people are the ones who are paying for the majority of their rent, along with food stamps, free phones, and every other government program they take advantage of. I don’t know why I am seeing all these videos popping up. Maybe to supplement their income or to show the taxpayers that they take care of their place, unlike many section 8 tenants.
That’s the key “as long as you NEED to” ppl get comfortable and get stuck and most of the time it trickles down to the next generation. The only thing about staying in low income is the rent and the food stamps. Most ppl don’t/can’t own anything of importance. Once you get a job and start working everything gets adjusted (rent/cash/stamps) so, sometimes you feel like you’re either struggling or not getting ahead. I was, honestly lucky to live in the projects for 10yrs, didn’t have to send my kids to daycare, got to stay home 24/7. I worked every Christmas season for money to make sure we had even more for our kids for Christmas. However, the future and the fact that I didn’t have anything for my kids including, life insurance always weighed heavy on me. I got a permanent par-time job worked a whole year, before everything was found out and reported. My rent went from $0 to $350, with a ticket of $3,000 in back pay. It was either pay the back pay in full or move. Pfft…they wasn’t getting my income tax check, so I moved. It wasn’t easy by no means. My kids’ dad died and I was really stuck (he payed for everything for our kids, clothes, sports, Christmas, birthdays even always made sure I had a car). It was ruff for a minute. But, I’m so happy I made that leap & got out. I’m a homeowner, a full time job, 401k, medical/life insurance, even extra insurance (if I break a bone I get paid, if I was to get admitted even for observation I get $1500). I’ll take the headache of being a homeowner, (believe me it can be, but I also have insurance for that) but my mortgage is cheaper than rent and I don’t have nobody monitoring me about anything. I’ll always be grateful for the opportunity I had to live in the projects, because I was able to be home for my kids. I’m also grateful for the first chance I was able to get out. All of that to say, let it be a stepping stone not a way of life.

Thats a very nice low income apartment! I had to move back too. I pay $905 for a 2bd 2ba for my low income apartment and its decent, no bugs, neighbors are cool. This will be hopefully my last year here though. Im not stressed about how I'm going to pay my bills etc. Im stacking my coins.

Absolutely not true I live in one of the wealthiest counties in Indiana and live in one of the very few places that they have in the state that is low rent. I have a person above me one across from me and another one above me I am out 55 trying to get into 55 and up place and there’s hardly any in Indiana that I can afford. So I am stuck here living with people that have mental issues out the Wazoo party all the time which means us neighbors have to call the police all the time maintenance never catches up to the work I have to practically bag and call at least 3 to 4 times to get a lightbulb changed out front. It’s just terrible and terrifying. But I can’t afford 1600 a month no way I would be homeless without it, but I’ve gone through a lot living here in the past four years, especially with crazy people upstairs getting evicted, one after the other for subleasing, drugs, prostitution, and then one day we had the swat team come, they had to get me out of my apartment before they went upstairs and took the guy, that was a want to felon out of his apartment. It’s just insane. I literally have PTSD from living here. I just keep my gun by my bedside and fully loaded. Ready to go. Just crazy not happy.

Looks pretty nice for low income. The flooring is nicer than mine. Didi see the dog had a tablet or phone in his little house? Cabinets are nicer than mine too. I own so I need to get this work done. Floors are big job. Especially when you have your live in the space at the same time. Anyway it looks like a really nice apartment. Granite counters too. She has decorated nicely and is organized. You’ve done a beautiful job with your apartment. I lived in low income housing when I was young and my kids were very young. You’re so right about it’s not about where you live but how you live. I kind of miss those days, we had a good community with a lot of us helping each other and enjoying the time we spent together. That was nearly 40 years ago, times were different then. ❤

@Ralondat if nothing else, you can try a little Dawn and some really hot water in your spin mop bucket. I have used that as my go to cleaner when I don't have any other product.

All I ever heard was guns being shot. My kids usto FALL DOWN TO THE GROUND. I taught them if you ever hear any popping, drop down to the ground, crawl to the hallway closet. That’s no way to live!!! One night I heard a lot of ppl, than I heard pop, pop, pop, than I saw red and blue lights, I’m 🧐…..so I opened the door. Cause the cops here. It was a unalived black dude at the bottom of my steps!!!!! Well……Now I know where some are In Florida that all the drug addicts hang in and live in so they are everywhere.just know (when you see that the owners only about getting paid, or their in a situation, and won’t complain because they can’t risk loosing getting that money.the ones I lived in definitely don’t play!!!

I live in income based housing and they just did a full remodel on our apartment. We had to move out for four weeks and then back again. They put us in temporary apartments. AGREE, I don't have a washer dryer hook up, but you see we do have a laundry room closet in my apartment. That's the only thing I'm missing.

Looks pretty nice for low income. The flooring is nicer than mine. Didi see the dog had a tablet or phone in his little house? Cabinets are nicer than mine too. I own so I need to get this work done. Floors are big job. Especially when you have your live in the space at the same time. Anyway it looks like a really nice apartment. Granite counters too. She has decorated nicely and is organized. You’ve done a beautiful job with your apartment. I lived in low income housing when I was young and my kids were very young. You’re so right about it’s not about where you live but how you live. I kind of miss those days, we had a good community with a lot of us helping each other and enjoying the time we spent together. That was nearly 40 years ago, times were different then. ❤

@Ralondat if nothing else, you can try a little Dawn and some really hot water in your spin mop bucket. I have used that as my go to cleaner when I don't have any other product.

I have low income housing have had it for yrs I don’t regret having a voucher during this economy I had so many hate comments about me having a voucher it’s ridiculous but the same ones who hate is the same ones who wish they could get a voucher congrats on your apt and true saying it’s not where you live it’s how you live and that’s facts

It’s not easy to go world wide and say I LIVE IN A LIW INCOME APARTMENT, but years ago god started working on me, and I mean hard.. I was driving one day and had a heartfelt feeling and thought. How I’m gonna be embarrassed for something GOD GAVE ME AND MY KIDS!!! Listen I was DRIVING. I closed my eyes and prayed. When I opened my eyes something felt so good. As time went on I was no longer ever embarrassed about anything that god has blessed me with. You know, I know the NOOK WAS ALREADY WRITTEN. If I was supposed to be in a home god would have me in one!!

I used to visit people in low income in Illinois where we lived. Their places were. Older and not nice. Their was a lot of people on drugs. My friends that lived there was scared. I guess it's it's it is what town you live in.

It’s not funny but baby, I ain’t never seen such a thing in any I’ve lived in and I’m from Daytona beach Florida PROJECTS AND I HAVE NEVER SEEN THAT in the two I’ve lived in. Now I lived in one in Jacksonville when I first moved here. I didn’t know anything about, what side not to live on🥴 I’m not naming them, but I lived out there 4 MONTHS. All I ever heard was guns being shot. My kids usto FALL DOWN TO THE GROUND. I taught them if you ever hear any popping, drop down to the ground, crawl to the hallway closet. That’s no way to live!!! One night I heard a lot of ppl, than I heard pop, pop, pop, than I saw red and blue lights, I’m 🧐…..so I opened the door. Cause the cops here. It was a unalived black dude at the bottom of my steps!!!!! Well……Now I know where some are In Florida that all the drug addicts hang in and live in so they are everywhere.just know (when you see that the owners only about getting paid, or their in a situation, and won’t complain because they can’t risk loosing getting that money.the ones I lived in definitely don’t play!!!

I live in income based housing and they just did a full remodel on our apartment. We had to move out for four weeks and then back again. They put us in temporary apartments. You have everything so best and organize. That is right up my alley.
