Thanks so much for this tutorial! I repaired huge deep scratches on my car (took me maybe 10 hours all up across 2 days). I'm a car noob but following this video helped me get perfect results! I really appreciate the simplicity of this video and the fact that I saved around $1000 by doing this myself. Something I didn't expect however was the mismatch of my car gloss with the acrylic lacquer so I had to buff out the repaired area afterwards.

good tip: in stead of using tape on the left on the bumper what will leave a line you want to use a A4 paper and fold it in half so you have the round side of the paper facing the part you want to paint. in that way you wont have a line but you have a smooth trasition.

yes theres a hard paint line where the paint was applied right up to the taped off area. This could have been avoided by not taping the masking paper tight down to the bumper but placed over it instead and secured. However with a fine wet and dry paper it could be feathered in and buffed up. which i later read is what the guy did and got a seamless transition. Good repair.

I enjoyed the video you made repairing the Audi, but this video made me believe that even I could do it. My biggest mistake in the past was not taking enough time ( impatience) and applying the paint too thickly, both of which I now recognise as my main mistakes. Thanks so much. Colin.

great video but one thing you never do is cut a panel or bumper in half to prevent paint from going over. what it will do is leave a line when you tear the tape off like what happen at 8:40 . you should be better at leaving it open and light spray over to do a blend in

A tip. Apply the filler first and then sand the whole thing once. Yes, it's unorthodox but the deep part of the scratch has already been abraded so it will stick unless it's an old repair and has been waxed.

You need to start with 80 sand it until the BLACK do not do it like he shows, as the filler will not grab on well on the finish of the bumper!
Then you will see deeper scratches fill those. Then use 80 again to take it off the filler. Then use 180 to smooth it out gently and primer it, a couple times then fine sand it, then paint it
