I used to criticize authorities whenever it floods in Takoradi or elsewhere in the country, especially Accra but I have realized that it floods everywhere in the world when the rain is heavy. I live in America and it floods here too. Right now floods in Texas have killed four persons. Floods in Kenya recently killed many people. However government can still do better to control the floods in the country. Where are our civil engineers? Our universities have produced lots of civil engineers but where are they? They should come out with ideas to control floods in the country to avoid future catastrophe

With good planning Takoradi should never experience flooding. There should be a drainage system directed into the sea.
