Taking a look at the ASUS Geforce RTX3050 DUAL edition, this is ASUS's more budget option in the RTX3050 line up and has all the same features as the higher end models such as 8GB GDDR6 14Gbps memory over a 128 bit bus, and pretty decent cooling setup for a pretty small GPU.
Does this card do enough though? It does seem like a "cheap" video card in terms of the actual look and design and uses a cheaper plastic and lacks premium features like RGB support, but it still games like a champ and performs within a narrow margin of the most premium RTX3050 cards on the market, so do the looks matter? Lets find out.

Very informative and helpful video Mike. I have asus dual rtx 3060 ti & I am happy with it. Thank you!
Great to hear!
Should be; the 3060 Ti is a much better product.
I Do love the asus dual design and aesthetics 😀
I have the 3070 verson of this card, had it since launch time of rtx and its been excellent, I would highly recommend the dual series to anyone 😀
I have the dual 3060 Ti
3070 is excellent.
Thanks for another solid review Mike.
No problem 👍
Great video thanks Mike
Glad you enjoyed it
I like the idea of smaller size without loss of performance for say an mAtx case. Agree the Msi version you reviewed looked better build design but these cards dont really need it. Reference to dies being cut down puzzles me as heard said before, so my little brain thinks their "seconds" or rejects! Think the Asus wud make a useful upgrade to the RX570 my dter uses and suit mAtx build. Thanks for reviewing Mike and Kath👍
@Nick Barnes definitely would.
Mike's Review is Worthy of a Support comment. Like & a share 🙂
And of course I am full support of the Support Comment.
Think ill be happy with one when i upgrade from my 1050 ti
i was about the get this since i liked the small factor but i end up getting a 2060 12gb same model asus dual and outperforms the 3050 nice review mate
thanks and i think you made the right choice
@@mikesunboxing agree.
@Sunka Wicasa: price difference?
@@PapaMav here in México were about the same price even 3050 was a little big higher
@@SunkaWicasa TY
tbh im not looking to get this Card just supporting the channel with this one Mike But my friend has one and it does a Job i want better a 3060 ti at least hoping to get even better well see what i end up with lol decent card in general use cases though beginners budget builds etc
Hi, Mike. Looks like a fancy new doorstop to replace my old 1050. 😂 I watched AMD's stream and have to admit the new series of Ryzen CPUs looks awesome. I may actually change my mind about not jumping to an AM5 system right away. I like seeing Wreckfest included in your list of tested games. I've been playing the daily Tournements and I now have over 640k Fame Points. Too bad I can't exchange them for dollars.
i like the daily tournaments adds a bit of fun to the game
@@mikesunboxing and I DON'T like that you left out War Thunder....
@Oletta Liano: one of these days Big O, one of these doorstops is gonna jump up and bite/trip ya and y'all will go ass over tea kettle and crack your noggin.
@@PapaMav Sorry!
@@mikesunboxing better be Mike, LOL.
Can you show me the Gpu fins under the fans? I got a really loud Asus dual mini 3060 ti, and i do want to replace the 87mm fans with 92mm arctic f9s.
sorry don't have it anymore
Again Im gonna put aside the 3050 arguments etc and I still maintain that the MSI version of this looks like to be the better performer but I cant deny that this card is a damn fine looking version :-) If it came out at a competative price then i can see people favouring this one over the MSI. Thanks Mike and Kath
i agree entirely
I know JM would't, but my decision would be based entirely on price....
I actually looked this Asus “Dual” model RTX3050 for purchase … then I got the Asus “Phoenix” (itx sized single fan) model for literally a handful of dollars above RRP ($256USD) here in Australia on an awesome sale, and as an avid itx enthusiast builder the Phoenix was the right choice for me 🥰🥳🎊👍. The Phoenix is definitely a vg performing GPU with minimal audio fan noise under full load!!! The 3000 series prices were a sign of the times / C19 / Scalpers / Miners etc and realistically should be a $200-220 USD GPU imo….. but it’s a great little GPU nonetheless 😎🤯🥳! This GPU can 1080p (some 1440p) game on high setting with RT enabled with decent fps. I personally love this GPU!
sounds like a great little card
NOTE: Also playing with DLSS on 👍😎
@@mikesunboxing with corrected pricing, th3se are a great 1080p RT gaming GPU
@@michaelthompson9798 time to put 1080P to pasture and think 1440P. Too many past cards are great 1080 cards, time to think 1440P and up. The only people who should be considering this card are those who never had a desktop before and are the tight wadest of budgets. I feel badly for anyone who buys this just to 1080P game on.
Hi, does the card makes noises when playing video games like cyberpunks or call of duty
Thanks for the video btw
No mine was pretty much silent
@@mikesunboxing ok thank you very much
@@Vino_rs No problem 🙂
I wonder which GPU die is now being used here on the RTX3050?…. The RTX 3060 GA106-150 die cut down with 130w OR the NEW RTX 3050 GA107 die with 115w and better overclocking potential (if it’s BOT BIOS power limited)? MIKE DO US A CLOSE UP SHOWING OF THE DIE PLEASE 🥰👍🥳
it was the GA106 die on all three that we reviewed
hi just want to ask, what performs better is it ASUS Geforce RTX 3050 DUAL or MSI Geforce RTX 3050 8GB Gaming X 8G? thanks
Gaming x should be slightly better but not worth paying much extra for it
thanks for the response@@mikesunboxing
question is can you get a bigger card with faults and take out the pcb then install the version you have now as much greater cooling and bigger fans for controlling the temps
great idea i am sure it can be done.
if you have the skills anything is possible
@@mikesunboxing you need just to know or extend any wiring for the fan system ,the die can be helped but depending where the four screws are going to attach to the cooler and not break the pcb.
But why bother to do that with a brand new GPU? Baffling....
@@PapaMav why the reason is because you can ,buy a gpu big enough not working then use the pcb out of the 3050 then it will have more cooling power.
@@XENONEOMORPH1979 just how much more? Seems like a lot for a little (in return) my dude.
Where is the 115W revision of this card? No one seems to sell it.
good question
Can you control color of the led with software?
no sorry
can it handle 1440 resolution? im planning to buy one.
it can do up to 4k and beyond, just don't expect modern AAA games to run well at that size
thank you@@mikesunboxing
is better the msi 3050 8gb 2x xs or the asus?
there are both very similar so get the cheaper one
I sense an ASUS slight coming....
which one is better zotac or asus 3050?
zotac
Don’t spread false rumors that isn’t the best price for the gpu because it has ray tracing
sorry i don't understand
Got the same gpu but I have 6pins only. why?
not sure? maybe a design revision
I got one but no video, i think its broken 😢
sorry to hear that
@@mikesunboxing it gave video bro 🥹, it just didn't show video at the moment of pluging in but saved it by installing the drivers with the integrated grafics, if I didn have integrated grafics I was screwed
For an RTX series of GPU you really want the RTX feature to actually work properly, it's 1 of the main reasons why people are buying them, without buggering performance and offering good stable Framerates. 1440p should be the target output. 1080p is just not ideal anymore. It's supposed to be an upgrade instead of a step backwards. This card is currently being marketed as an awesome product, though it's actually extremely basic in terms of working features and price tag. An entry level GPU.
I agree 1440P should be the target output and what should be measured.
Weaker than a 6600, and cost about $100 nite here in the USA.
rx6600 is the way to go right now for value
"Hot and Loud" just like Lord Erectus likes his women....
lol yep definitely
the rx 6600 is cheaper and better.
yes it is at the moment by a big margin
@@mikesunboxing any teething issues with RX 6600; ya know, such as, Drivers?
In before JB calls me an MSI shill again. The MSI 3050 is better. Shilling complete, now to go into hiding so JB cannot find me. 🤡

RTX 3050 is a weak graphics card and should cost $150 - $180 at most. NVIDIA has gone crazy with the prices!
In my country the RTX 3050 costs $400. F*ck this shit!
#boycottnvidia
6650 xt if priced well should be bought over the 3050
I just got an ASUs 3050 Pc dual to go wit my ASUs prime motherboard wit an i7 8700k 16ram and so far limited testing i love it altho on Witcher 3 next gen, when ray tracing on it fuckin bogs down hard .. but dlss runs nice 60fps min not 1080p tho I have it on something goofy like 3000 can’t remember but I gotta play around more but I will say, right off the rip just basic functions, the display it puts out is beautiful all my icons and total display is just so much richer and crisp and true… I got my daughter a gaming rig for 800 that came wit a cheapo pny 2060 and it runs great for what she does but I noticed this same rich display it generated when I booted it up xmas eve to get drivers and what not so she could play asap .. I was jealous of her RTx at the time I had a gtx760 which was bottlenecking my shit to hell 60% bottle necking gpu way way too weak… technically my build still bottlenecking because the i7 should be paired with skmething higher than this 3050 but for $260 I felt it was a responsible, reasonable splurge wifey offered to pay so I didn’t wanna push it and get a $500 card but resaistoxslt for my build that woulda prob been the base where to start to pair my i7… one day thats the good part bout pc.. when I need to my shit is ready for another 5 years maybe more
thanks that was an interesting read and made me smile at points
@@mikesunboxing ive made a few additions in the time passed. just figured id share lol i love this stuff.. so im not sure if i mentioned my AIO nightmare that ended up having me fry my i7 8700 ugghhh...in the process.. i bought two strixx boards, one for the wrong socket lol wow.. and the other 300 series z390 E to go with an i3 9100f that i had to buy to replace my i7 which i didnt have an extra 400 surprise surprise... to my surprise, the i3 is actually a better pair with my asus rtx dual... but i got a few parts since then including replacing my CPU, had to replace my PSU, bought ANOTHER corsair AIO, bought a Asus z11 for a mini ITX while having a ATX!!!! my lord i swear i never cease to amaze myself... with some bending of metal and some absolute frankenstine Hijinks, its all in there, connected and working... 2 months later... hahah what a nightmare its been, everything finally working, scored a #1 on Time Splitters 3dMark for my set up 6033 which is hardly worth bragging about but amongst those with my set up, im doing something right Lol.
