- It’s the 2017 Jaguar F-Type and Simone tells us all about it. The new Jaguar F-Type is a true luxury 2 door / 2 seat sports coupe. It’s just been announced that Jaguar will introduce a new 4 cylinder 2-litre turbo engine to the F-Type range later this year. But in the video, we review the mid ranged engine which is the V6 Supercharged petrol.
The Jaguar F-Type has to be one of the best driving cars we have reviewed at CarTell.tv and hopefully, we will also get a chance to review it in its V8 guise, what a sound that would make.

What I learned watching this video...
1) She's hot.
2) Australians pay a ridiculous amount of money for cars. That's literally 2x what it costs in the USA.
Simone. In my opinion, this F Type is the loveliest looking Jaguar since my [THEN] near new Jag XK- 'E Type' Coupe in the mid Sixties. It too had all disks, limited Slip Diff., a heart-vibrating exhaust note, all independent susp, etc. & on the straight, was probably faster than some of the training planes I'd flown. I still believe I retain the record for the ultra winding 'Clyde Mountain' 3500foot ascent from Moruya to Braidwood & onto Canberra. The layout of the cockpit of your 'F Type' is beautiful, but like my 'E Type' even seems to lacks space for a child capsule. Thanks again. Your test drive has made an old man very happy.
Love mine. Boot on the coupe if you ditch the spare for the repair kit is ample for most day to day use
$230,000.00? What the fuck! in the US this car is on only $75,000.00

The subtalties of foreign currency movements were never a strong point for our US friends. The vast majority of them believe there is only 1 dollar in the world, well guess what, Australia has one too and it has a deferent value to the US one
I have a 2017 S AWD just like this, except mine is in Firesand. I’ve done 20,000 miles in it and not once have I noticed any heat from the centre exhaust when opening the tailgate. 🤷♂️
I live in Dubai and Iam 19 y/o. I love my 2018 3.0l V6 S, I’ve got the quicksilver sport exhaust system upgrade and it sounds even better than it does stock. I’ve also got a 500hp tune on it recently and its really fast now 😂

The F-Type V6 is not lightweight at all! It's one of the heaviest sports cars at this price!
So difficult to focus on the car.
1:39 those are 20 inch. You can tell by just looking at them or if you know anything about the F-type.
Pricing makes sense here in the UK but no way is this car worth more than 200k! Ridiculous.

I don't think many of reviews of this car making a valid point about no iPhone / android system synchronisation or whatever is the problem with it - It's a damn Jag that meant to be driven - not for checking your emails and FB messages.

Entering my 3rd year with one. Still feels solid and no problems so far. In fact probably going for the SVR next year.
51k miles. No issues....5y. Great cars. Equal to a Porsche in reliability frankly and nicer seats, looks, and sounds. It may only be 98% of the track car the 911 is, but on the street it is actually better. Had a 996tt....so I can say this....and the new 911 got even fatter.

Yet my choice is the smaller V6 RWD and proper manual gearbox - that's how sport car should be spec!

I would like to see someone try and change gear quicker and smoother in a manual; most people cannot change gear(s) properly anyway.
A ZF Box is awesome, smooth faster & better fuel economy as a bonus.
@@bobbarrett2631 All that doesn't matter! ZF (and any automatic) box is welcomed in a luxury limousine - a sport car is about connection and control and then manual is the king!
I knock my 2017 S AWD over into sport mode and then use the stick as a sequential shifter.

Having driven both, I feel qualified to comment. am also very lucky to have spent a lot of time in a Group 4 Escort. My daily drive is an S4 (maybe I just love V6 alu engines?) which is very capable, but so boring; the Jaguar is not. (Go drive one :)
Not a fan at all of the painted side skirts. Makes the car look fatter... Loved the 2014's with the side skirts black. Seems like every year they do something to change the looks ever slightly and make it look bigger... shame really. Still love this car though.
It's not a 2017 because it has a old system, new have In Control Touch
Q: Is it extremely expansive regarding; maintenance/spare parts availability in the US. I live in the states.
I live in the states. Free services for 5y..then it is what it is...but that "is" is less than Porsche or frankly BMW, Mercedes, and Ferrari....the spark plugs are a pita to get to though....under the supercharger. The rest is average. My mechanic says the bolts and such exude quaility and durability - way more than current competitors.
I wish you guys enter into comparison between cars...

Did I hear right ???? $ 200,000.00 Dollars plus ???. I have a 2007 XK Convertible,1 of 97 Winter Gold that I really enjoy, and I would be hard-pressed to have the F type over what I have. especially since mine has MORE room and gets better mileage. Somewhere along the line the F-type just doesn't sound or looks like a $200,000.00 dollar car, at least for me.... I'll be keeping what I have. thank you... And enjoy every car show I have it in......
and then the Gazzo Racing Supra was released with as much style, better performance, more practicality and 150k cheaper. Really like the shape of this Jag but the price seems beyond ridiculous. I would be hard pressed to pay 130-160k for such a car
Simone, did you introduce earlier any MacLaren Models like 540C or 570GT or a GT?? If you show and present a Jaguar i think it would be fair to show one of these or all of them! But beware! You will fall in love for sure, you will get addicted about MacLaren!

Would you consider adding comments about comparative cars to your reviews? For example, I think the Porsche Cayman or the BMW Z4 are competitors, I think. (You must be tired of reading this, but you are gorgeous. )

Is it possible that everything is a reason for an argument? She's not underestimating Indians. It's a market thing. Think of the Indian market and cars made there. Mostly cheaper cars aimed at practicality with price cutting features. Then think of Jaguar. Does not fit the previous description, does it?
If anything, this is a compliment for the new Indian owners, since it obviously means that they are well familiar with what they own and are definitely clever since they are sticking with the quality. The same with the Chinese and Volvo. Good business moves, rather than underestimating.
A weaker engine than the V6 is an ABOMINATION! How could you put a crappy engine in a car like this?? Sad days Jaguar... Sad days... (Yes, I own a 2016 F-Type R 550HP AWD Special Edition) and I love it. Don't weaken our car by adding some pile of crap engine, just make a smaller coupe that you can add that thing too like BMW does! Great review though!

I own a F Pace S with the big V6 SC and agree with you. Good pull, even great from the powerplant ..... but room for lots more ......

Not "so unique" Simone. It's either "unique" or it's not "unique". If you subscribe to everything being 'unique' because, in car terms, it's number 4362 vehicle of that exact model including extras, colour, inclusions etc., yes it's unique. So in this sense, everything is unique. Yet, nothing is unique, because, like the car, it was 4362, but it was still a Jag of this model. So like everything else, the Jag is not unique, in that there is/was a production 'run' of this model. I wouldn't make a point of this, but in as much as I understand you attained you HSC/VCE at 99.98, you are a genius, that is an intellectual outlier of the highest calibre. From an old pilot who, in the nineteen sixties owned a new Jaguar E-Type XKE and loved every minute of it, second only to 'the cockpit' of aeroplanes.

How is the car for a guy that is 6' 3" tall? Is it a good fit?
Hi Doug, thanks for the question. Our Producer is about 6'3" and he found it rather comfortable. His only issue was, he had to put the seat right back which meant the leather rubbed against the back fabrics of the car and made a squeaking noise while driving, which was a little annoying.
The new F-Types for this year have thinner race style seats so they don't rub the back of the cabin and give you more room too. On the older models the squeaking goes away pretty quickly, as they did on mine - so if you are buying used get it from a tall person ;-)
