People are so critical even though they can't do what she can! She's absolutely amazing! I can't wait to learn this song and try to somehow reach the greatness she presents when she performs this song!
wow.. The last time I heard this.. I was in New York.. I caught Marin Mazzie in Ragtime and saw Noll in Jekyll and Hyde 2 days later.. what an amazing trip that was.
Christiane's eyes are a little placid, yes, but her voice more than makes up for it. She has one of the most expressive, sensational voices out of anyone out there.
It is a very expensive show to do, Nearly 100 characters with background characters and with a mint condition Model T. It is probably the best show I've ever seen, but cost is the down side.
@Christinasvenska When does she indicate? I couldn't see it. Do you mean when she looked up for the stars and down for the ocean? at least she wasn't wobbling her arms up and down to show the sea...
Nate Golden apparently cost was such a big factor here, that they agreed to just perform just to get butts in seats or the fear of closing. They were already over budget and could not afford a full staging with costumes!

@Christinasvenska There are countless acting methods. Yours is not the "universal" acting theory by any means. She is imaging quite nicely, actually. Where did you get your degree in Musical Theatre? How long have you had your Equity card? Have you even done either of those things? Your opinion is valuable, but your tact is poor. Instead of making it seem like your opinion is commonly accepted to be true, try realizing that there is no "should" in acting. It's art, not math.
@Jason Bornstein sorry Jason, but Marin is and was a consummate storyteller. Christianne is a great singer and actress, but Marin DOES own this song and role. Maybe because they’re in the studio, but there’s so much reverb added to her voice it almost sounds artificial, and she’s way better than this recording.

you may think shes flat just because of her vibrato but thats not the case! :) she's quite on pitch !

this was a very awkward staging choice considering they were trying to save the show :( Im so sad I didnt get to see the real thing.
