The Way Eye See It

This abstract movie was predominantly filmed using an iPhone 13, with intentional degradation to achieve an aged, Lo-Fi aesthetic. The visual and auditory elements aim for a nostalgic yet high-quality feel, resembling a journey through time.
Interwoven with the scooter scenes are snippets of my musical explorations, recorded ad hoc on my phone and used as background music and transition fillers. These musical interludes provide additional depth to the narrative, reflecting the spontaneity and creativity of the filmmaking process.
The movie incorporates imagery of nature, animals, landscapes, and scenery, transitioning seamlessly between each scene. These elements serve as both sources of inspiration and visual cues, enhancing the overall storytelling experience. Creative techniques such as using dish soap bubbles, syrup, and water for scene transitions add a whimsical and captivating touch to the visuals.
Technical nuances, such as simulating old Super 8mm footage for sound effects and employing creative methods like burning green paper for transitions, contribute to the movie's authentic and immersive atmosphere. Additionally, incorporating scenes of myself holding cue numbers, filmed with an iPhone SE inside a Super 8mm casing, adds to the nostalgic, unstable film look.
Conceptually, the movie explores the theme of perception and memory, encapsulated in its title, 'The Way Eye See It.' It delves into how our perception of reality is shaped by individual experiences and perspectives, creating a unique lens through which we view the world.
Philosophically, the movie reflects on life as art and art as life, presenting 'States of Being' as achievable strengths and unique traits rather than mere goals. It encourages viewers to contemplate their own experiences and interpretations of reality, fostering introspection and self-discovery.
