Nick I think in the Wildcat, I'm going to tell you something that happened to me so it won't happen to you. I was cruising one day at speed and hit the water like I have seen you do on here and hydroplaned and it threw me sideways and rolled me over upside down in a pond. I couldn't get out and my life was fading fast and on the verge of my last breath a guy saw me wreck and happened to roll the machine over and saved my life. Don't know how he rolled it over and he don't know either but for the grace of god he did. I still drive the Wildcat like a bat out of hell but not over or in any water. Great vids and be safe out there boys.
Crazy story man. I agree on the dangers of skipping across water. Maybe I'll reevaluate it's importance come 2017..?
These old videos they made remind me of when I was a kid and my whole family would go to Colorado to ride in the mountains.
I hate to say it, but the damn wildcats looked the best in the air. They were flat and seemed composed when they landed.

I just stumbled onto your guys' channel the other day. You guys have had some good times. I especially like the Silver Lake videos as I live on the East Coast and I'm no where near sand that I can ride on. Riding on beaches in Nova Scotia is a definite no-no.
I seriously thought Doug was hurt after watching the tire-popping jump. Looked fairly violent.

things to know before u start jumping k case u didn't know .man and in 4 wheel drive when u punch it it will make it perfectly level and it 2 wheel it while raise the front end and obviously when u let of or hit brakes it drops the front
as u can see w b en the rear lands first it's smoother and when ur on the gas and the rear lands first it will be insanely smooth

Where are you guys from? I'm from upstate NY, I just got a yxz and might make the 800 mile drive next summer.
What's your overall opinion on the wildcat? I can find them pretty cheap in my area.
Not bad units. Just can't really push them like the others. Theyre not built as tough.

how do you get the suspension on the yxz1000r to not buck forward when you jump it?
That jump in particular was just good. As the video progresses Doug does actually nosedive and nearly roll lol
have you guys messed with the suspension at all? I noticed for rebound stiffness the stock shocks had 15+ clicks on it. i changed both to 10 and ive noticed its a lot easier to keep the nose level, as long as your foot is hard down.
Always wanted to go to silver lake, worth the drive over Hatfield McCoy? Both about 12hrs from me
Ryan, we haven't been to Hatfield McCoy yet, so it's hard to say. Certainly way different types of riding so it comes down to what your personal preferences are. The dunes are cool, and I'd say worth a 12hr drive to experience them at least once.

Ok. Well ya we don't drive it like a baby would they are made to have fun like we don't mind to change belts it takes us like 10 mins to change one now so ya I was just asking cause belts are pretty expensive and I was just wondering if u could run with cover off cause it would keep the belt cooler
just for future reference when the front drops in air punch the throttle and it will level out

This is Doug, and no, I never had it on mine. Rick does but rarely uses it. Most of our riding is at speeds higher than low range is useful.

No, unfortunately it's tough for us to get all the way over to that side of the country and there is so much to do. One day maybe!
When are SXS machines going to be equipped with REAL onboard compressors (not 12 volt low cfm compressors) that saved Doug's tires? Somebody needs to start inventing!
