If you're looking for stews, deep fried bread and crispy pastry then you're in the right place and they'll be plenty of Paprika, tomatoes and onions involved. So please enjoy the video and I hope I'm able to persuade you try a bit of authentic food.

Budapest is actually not too far from Bratislava and I've been many times but your video makes me wanna go and EAT their food soo much right now, hahaha! Brilliant! 👌🍲😍
I need a personal tour of Bratislava from you 😂❤️
Remember, Bratislava (Pozsony) was once upon a time Hungary's capital...
bratislava is hungary stolen from my country,,enjoy your meal
I'm married to a Hungarian woman. We lived in Budapest for 4 years and we now live in Canada. Like him honestly tell you, there are so many more homemade dishes and their way of doing a backyard cookout is unbelievably good. It's cooked in a cauldron hanging over a fire
That sounds amazing!
I came here from your other video and now I want to go even more!!!
ooh garlic soup sounds good!! and the langos!
The garlic soup was amazing! I need to learn how to make it 😂
@@ANobodysHerstory where did you get it served with langos? 😭😭 I need to try it.
@@MTeana it was in the Menza restaurant ☺️ it was so good!!!

It’s a beautiful country!
Tetszett a videód, és örülök, hogy jól érezted magad nálunk!
Thank you so much! I’m so happy you enjoyed it. I loved Hungary so much! 😊
If you loved pörkölt, and want to eat it sometime at home, mushroom (gomba) pörkölt, and green pea (zöldborsó) pörkölt are easy amazing, cheap, fast, and meat free (my top pick is actually green pea pörkölt, even as a meat eater). Sour cream is highly recommended, but if you have alternative that you eat, it might work.
Thank you! I’ll have a look at those recipes 😊

Balkan food is the best 😊

So Hungary is a good place to be when you're hungry?
Yeah. The name makes complete sense now 😂
no
@@cintiaarnhoffer Have u been there? I'm a lifelong resident of the USA. I don't travel much really. I was in Germany once when I was young. That's where my mom is from. I don't know why my fellow Americans would go to Mexico when from the looks of things many of the Mexicans don't even want to stay there!
@@jackschitt6235 have been where? In Hungary? Only 21 years as I born there :) I am Hungarian living in Dubai now :)
@@cintiaarnhoffer Y haven't u come to the USA yet like so many others from around the world? My endocrinologist is from Pakistan! Of course many Americans are bothered by the out of control immigration. I don't know much about Dubai. Muslim! Oil wealth?
Vouching Getto Gulyás as one of the better places to go to for Hungarian Stews :) As a local, that is where I bring my foreginer friends.
I really enjoyed it in there. Great food and such a nice atmosphere! Thank you for watching ☺️
Thank you, you were "delicious"!
😍😍💛💛👍👍
Allow me to clarify a bit.
The shepherds probably never ate goulash. They were too poor for it.
Meat was a festive food. Her's they only guarded and cared for the animals. Even the dead animal had to be dealt with strictly.
They mainly ate pasta, which was prepared with onions and bacon. They didn't know paprika.
The goulash, pörkölt, lecsó is very diverse, as many varieties as there are people who make it.
Hurka. There is also a bloodless version. The base is minced boiled pork offal. Boiled rice is added to this meat. They are seasoned and stuffed into the intestine. Blood is added to the bloody version. In the liver version, minced liver is the main ingredient.
Stuffed Cabbage. There are many variations of this as well. From sour cabbage and sweet cabbage, kale..
What you haven't tasted is the Somlói galuska, madártej, fruit soup.
The market hall is a place very visited by tourists, so it is also expensive.
By the way, this is also true for all such tourist places.
Thank you watching and thank you for your insight! I will have to try fruit soup when I next visit! 😊
They did know paprika after Columbus. Until then they got their pörkölt (stew) without paprika of course✌🏻🇭🇺...
@@gaborszadai1992 Igaz, csak azt tokánynak hívták.A paprika megjelenése után mindenképp.
@@gaborszadai1992paprika is from the new world?? I thought it came from the far East?
Yeah, garlic soup and many similar soup is coming from the AH times, when FR cuisine influenced the city meals, and after 1848 the revamped pastoral food called gulyas become famous, and reverted our identity to Hungarian. But the old version comes from the Hunnic times, when it's made in cauldrons, as we do usually on free fire and not in restaurant way. Similarly we have many pastoral food, that is belonged to the nomadic life, and as we are came from the east we have more soups, and boiling cooking culture. Yet, as the westerners don't know the soups, and they have more like a roasting cooking culture, that is the reason why you can find pörkölt (stew), and gulyás soup from the same ingredients. Yes, also we have some sort of celtic influence in food, as scottish, and cimmerians (welsh) people lived in the carpathian basin... but i don't want to go in deep details. PS: The chimney cake originally came from the HU Szekely people in Transsylvania, and become famous, and copied by everyone - even you can find in Asia, where the fill it with sausages, and avoid the sweet versions.
Thank you so much for this insight! I love learning more about the culture and appreciate your comment 😊
@@ANobodysHerstory I didn't mentioned the traditional Jewish cuisine, what is similar to ours, but different. If you are interested in HU cuisine and it's story, I can give you old recipes, and even a cookbook from AH times. Also interesting aspect if you search for turkic (not turkish) food similarities, and you will see that Szekely cuisine is completely other than the widely known local traditional.
@@ZoltanHoppar I would love that! Thank you!
@@ZoltanHopparI wonder if she knows what "AH" means✌🏻🇭🇺...
In Hungary, vegetarian means eating vegetables for sausages or meats 😄😄😄
I leik hungry garil i marit only hungry garil love you garil and hungry ❤❤
And Jeeeesus, lángos is the cheapest food in Hungary! 😱 Where did you buy it??? 2-3 pounds tops! Buy next time from a corner foodplace or so.
I know I felt so cheated! 🤦🏻♀️
Oh. You got the wrong goulash. It should be thick as f*ck 😂 At least the real deal. Super hearthy, super filling to the point, where one small bowl is enough as main course. Next time, try it at another restaurant. You won't regret it!
😂😂 I definitely will! Thanks for watching 😊
Hungry is batiful cntri
Some help..to pronounce 'lecsó" is ... like "letchow"...anyways, it is Hungarian ratatouille.
i wanna fix you chimmney cake is not from hungary neither czech republic but its from slovkia origin from place called skalica.
That's all we have either its a stews or deep fried bread, onion and paprika. The food is heavy, makes me have head ace and food coma. :) Most of the Hungarians are fat and unhealthy looking. I am Hungarian, can't stand most of the Hungarian food. Interesting to see another viewpoint. Glad you have fun and enjoyed! Where else are you going to go to check the food?
Do you think so? 😅 I didn’t notice any far Hungarians at all 😂 in from the UK and we have an obesity problem so Hungary seemed slim in comparison 😅 UK food is also very heavy and stodgy but plain so I liked the added spices in Hungarian food. I really loved the vegetable stews as well. I did really enjoy the food! Thank you so much for watching. I’m off to Korea and Japan next. I’m not sure how well I’ll handle Korean spice but I’m looking forward to it!
@@ANobodysHerstory hahahaa, coming from UK I understand :) yeah, well it's ok. If you liked our country, I do not want to say anything bad :) Hungary is definitely worth a visit, happy you liked the food :)
Enjoy Korea and Japan, let's see your feedback! :) Have fun and enjoy!!
