My highschool runs these defenses:
1-2-2 press
2-2-1 press
Man to man help side defense
1-2-2 zone defense

How do you defend if the offense is playing 4 out with a big at the free throw line? Have the 2 and 3 squeeze as soon as the pass is made to the big?

in that case run a man to man or my low 1-4 as the other coach has figured out that your running a zone and he has plays to beat it... in this case you might want to run a zone for 2 possessions and man for 2 and keep alternating to keep them confused... maybe set up in man and switch zone or set up in zone and switch to man

You can have the 2 or 3 on weak side come over and deny that pass
