The Scary Truth Behind the “Ideal” Future Human Body (EVE Online)

In this video, we explore the prospects of humanity becoming a proper galactic species and how could this possibly affect our biology. To try to mitigate exposure to low gravity and radiation NASA is already working on technological and even genetical engineering solutions, but how far would we go? We explore this process of becoming homo galacticus using the latest scientific advances as well as best science fiction worlds from books, TV shows and even games. Such as EVE Online which is set in a rich sci-fi universe, where players can create their own character and explore a vast and complex virtual world built according to the complex set of consistent in-world rules. It feels like a real simulation of humanity's future in space, including all the body modifications needed to survive in it.

You're asking the wrong question. Rather that asking about all the ways we could change, consider a more foundational question:
*_"What does it even mean to be "Human"?_*
Evolution remains a constant, even in relatively static environments. Whether we influence it through deliberate genetic engineering (& we've barely scratched the surface of its staggering potential), or merely leave it to natural processes (mutation/gene drift/natural selection/etc.) both the biological & eventually the mental aspects of what define us as *"Human"* are going to change - this is an inevitability.
Ideally, what we want to promulgate through our futuristic descendents are the essential core characteristics of what we consider to be *"Human".* So far as it goes, it doesn't matter if they end up with 6 arms & four eyes, so long as they remain capable of Empathy, Creativity, Rationality, the Emotional Spectrum, as well as whatever other aspects (both Positive &, perhaps, Negative) that we consider to be quintessentially *"Human".*
We've already got a significantly greater quantity of variation amongst human traits than perhaps what most people would consider to be standard as *"Human":*
▪︎ *Human Intellect* - Depending on what we call, Human Intellect, how many variants of thinking being do we already call *"Human"?* People with *Autism, Dyslexia* & *ADHD* each diverge (from a slight to a significant way) from the Neurotypical & certainly remain people. So, how much divergence is acceptable before an individual is no longer *"Human"?* Suppose that only people with a severe form of *Autism* (making everyday social interaction very difficult) are capable of navigating through the incomprehensible anarchy of FTL Hyperspace, making them essential for the colonisation of space (at least in human timescales). Would we be justified in deliberately cloning an entire population of Navigators to serve the rest of us? How about taking neurotypical individuals & making them Navigators through brain modification? Would they still be *"Human",* or would a future society be justified in calling them "replicants" & treating them like organic computers..?
▪︎ *Human Sexuality* - (very roughly defined as the genes which we class as necessary for sexual development/maturity & their phenotypical morphologies, eg: gonads, primary & secondary sexual characteristics, etc.) HS is demonstrably bimodal, with the two primary sexes of Male & Female, along with myriad other forms of intersex development (taking only the chromosomes, there's XXY, XYY, XXX, XXXXY, etc.). This would also include how *Human Sexual Attraction* (which seems both genetic & congenital) factors into sexual development. Would we still consider a future subspecies with 3 Sexes (eg: Male, Female & Neuter, evenly distributed across the population) to still be *"Human"?* How about accelerating population growth on a human colony through Reproductive Cloning (freeing up the Female part of the population from their historical Gender Role in new colonies as baby factories)? The children would be identical in all respects, except how they were gestated in artificial wombs - so are they still *"Human"?*
▪︎ *Human Gender* - (including Gender Identity/Gender Roles/Gender Expression), being a Social Construct (which often, but not always parallels Sexual Phenotypes) is absolutely going to change, and in profoundly radical ways compared to our current, relatively superficial (the science is barely a century old) understanding. If future science makes it almost convenient to undergo an external (leaving most of your genes & neurostructures intact) physiological transition (that's eminently reversible) to a different Gender, would more people undergo such procedures? Perhaps in a long-lived future society, people would spend half a century in one aspect before becoming the other (fathering a child, before gestating & birthing others)? Wouldn't they have experienced a far broader perspective of what it means to be *"Human"* than we can currently envisage?
▪︎ *Psychological & Cultural* - It would take hours just to dip a toe into the deep, deep pool of the comprehensive Psychological & Cultural aspects of what it means to be *"Human".* Consider that if you spent much of your existence plugged into a Matrix-like virtual reality - where you could alter physical perameters at will - how would you be able to psychologically deal with the "real" world? How rapidly could a Culture/Language change before it became incomprehensible to the rest of us, if the people experiencing it were living years in the Matrix for every minute IRL? How glacially slowly would new groups/tribes/nations appear, grow & mature if FTL weren't possible - meaning that it takes decades, even centuries, to travel between planetary colonies? (Or even the months/years between the planets within the Solar System?) What aspects of our modern Culture would you find absolutely necessary to take with you to another colony on a far distant & likely radically different world?

I’m sayin animal heads, tails and extra body parts such as limbs and organs.
Perhaps even going so far as to purposely remove body parts to replace with robotic organs and limbs but that’s most likely only if we can simulate feeling through said parts.
