Awesome overview Ron. Looks fantastic and the right approach to update the GT. Very timeless design and looks to be better for daily use than the old one. My only observation is it makes the grecale trofeo look like a bargain. Is there a major step up in quality of the interior of exterior compared to the grecale to Warrent the major price hike?
Good point. I think what you'll be shopping is the allure of a sportscar v.s. an SUV. The suv might be cheaper but who doesnt want to be seen in a sexy coupe?

LOL, my Audi A4 can support 8 garage doors, this only three. 🙂 I know right, who the hell has 8 garages and drives an Audi? Better for this to have that capability! I'm glad they didn't change the look that much; the previous one is timeless automotive beauty. I'm also glad they went up market with it-----in a day when people that live with grandma drive Hellcats, and a guy working overtime can afford a Corvette Z06, Maserati has to maintain that separation. A Maserati should be a dream car----not something you cross shop and buy only if you get a better deal. However for me personally, I'd put $70K on a 2018 MC before putting $170K on this----the lack of interior tech doesn't bother me one bit; the only tech I care about are engine, brakes, etc.
Thrilled to see the new GranTurismo in person! Yes, I understand they were forced to downsize their engines but given the limitations, this engine makes way more power and the sounds of the Nettuno engine with this exhaust sound fantastic! - 17:13

Great Review. But FYI The Platform is new, so it's Not Redesign. It Is All New.
The Platform Is Called 'Giorgio Sport' , and Is Built from High-Strength Steel and Aluminum.
The glove box is opened from the center infotainment screen.
It’s good that you can see more of the engine compare to the pervious version. However, I don’t like the exhaust note..
Thats a tough sell v.s. the V8, we'll have to wait to see what the Trofeo sounds like.

That antenna is too big. Is it smaller if you don't get the rear view camera option?
The glove box opens from a button on the touchscreen which is down and right on the screen next to the esc off button. Amazing car, amazing colour...

Will be looking to get something different in a year or two and the granturismo EV will definitely be intriguing. I owned a Ghibli SQ4 7-8 years ago and liked it, so wouldn’t mind another one
i really wish Alfa would get a more sporting limited edition 2wd version with a manual and no rear seats...they could use the same front face (or at least headlights and grill) and rear tail lights as the giulia to keep the costs down and then offer it all for $120k...

they call it a "cofango" because its a combination of the italian words for hood and fender...in italian a hood is called a "cofano", and a fender is "parafango" which means literally "mud stopper"...

Ron, The 2023 gran turismo is nice but my 2013 gran turismo sport in blu meditoraneo with v8 engine has a much better and more impressive sound.
I think the biggest thing the old GT’s will have over the new ones is the engine sound package but that’s almost all new cars these days.
I agree, nothing beats the V8 Maserati sound, but they have managed to get a great noise from a V6. What a gorgeous addition to the Maserati line up. I cannot wait to see what the Gran Turismo Trofeo will look like.

I would rather have the shifter than the push button controls for drive, park etc.
I wouldn't mind it either or better yet using the paddle shifts to shift from P, N, and D

Great review, Ron as always! Love the new GT design. The color is also incredible but how come no one is talking about the ridiculous price tag... 170K+ for a GT!! The price of a trofeo will put you close to an MC20 ... I think Maserati is making a mistake and wont sell anywhere near the amount of cars it should. As gorgeous as the new GT is, it is NOT a 170k+ car, its more like 120-130k

Amazing car but I personally prefer the styling of the old Gran Turismo!
For being a completely new in-house design the engine looks and sounds exactly like the Alfa Romeo Q. I also spot multiple Alfa miscellaneous parts all around the car; it's not a complaint, just wish Maserati would fess up about it... it's so obvious.

Too expensive for what it is. The Modena really should have started around 130-140k and the trofeo around where the Modena currently start around 170k. Even then that’s still probably too much money for what you’re getting.
