I love your content. It’s informative, interesting, and Sarah adds that, “Je ne sais quoi” to your channel. Hold on to that woman and treat her right because she’s gold! Not only does she know her way around power tools and supports you in your hobbies but she’s such a good sport too.

No need to hold the muffs the hose pressure will fill the leg up to the impeller and once running the impeller (in the leg) will suction/ meter as much water as needed any extra will just push past the Muff ears. Just think when your idling on the lake the water pressure 1 foot down at the pickup point / impeller level is no where near what a hose puts out

I've been near it, once, but never been there for race night. Oddly enough I met Charlie Strang, the inventor of the Stern Drive, very important man in Marine history as he was very high up both at Mercury, and VP of OMC. He died a few months after I met him, was a surreal experience. Once Covid is over I definitely want to make it down there...

Just got my boat out on the water last weekend and this weekend. Probably going today if it doesn’t rain. After rebuilding it from trees growing inside. 1996 sunbird with a 112 spl Johnson. Runs great. 42 mph and plenty of power to pull a tube or skis. Lots of satisfaction on my end. Many days of being covered in fiberglass dust and sweat. I have a few videos on my channel. O yeah I did all the upholstery work myself.

Over here in Europe we don't really care about displacement.
Power to weight is indeed key.

I was so scared watching her put her arms in the prop. If that had been in gear she would have lost both of them,,,,,,, PLEASE never do that again.
Oh and on a side note. There is an old axiom for speed,,, "There is no replacement for displacement". Drag racing in particular, it is much easier to go fast with a V8. Not that 4cyls can't be fast, its just much more expensive.
