The stark contrast in power and rawness between that "yeah" scream and the many lines of buildup that came before it had me "shook," as they say. That scream easily raised the energy in the room. You can even hear a guy in the audience going "hohhh" right afterwards.

I remember back in January 1993, I went to see Alice In Chains at Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. It was my second ever concert (Cheap Trick was my first), but this was the first for a band I really enjoyed and knew all the songs. Meanwhile, they used this song to open it up and they had a curtain up in front of the band and all you could see were there shadows. You could tell it was Layne Staley by the way his nose stuck out. Right when the song got loud, the curtain dropped. It was one of the coolest moments I have ever witnessed. This, along with "Would?" and "Down in a Hole" is my favorite Alice In Chains song. That moment and the fact that my grandfather was in World War 2 (yes, I know the songs about Vietnam, but it still resonants the same). Good memories over at Aragon and The Metro

lmfao I love Layne's sense of humor at 2:06 jerry screwed up and at about 2:10 layne looks straight at jerry like he was thinking um ok then he slowly faced back to the mic idk if anyone noticed that.
Ryan Beasley LOVED that!! Hilarious how Layne just carried on....Jerry NEVER screws up- said he was a little "sick", & truthfully Jerry looks a hawt mess lol. What's SO cool is how they all covered for each other, like in Rio when Layne was losing his voice, Jerry & the band went that extra mile to compensate.....just like LAYNE DID THIS NIGHT!! Boy did he deliver!!!
My god ! The naunces in his voice that you get with time ! I always discover something new.
The ups and downs ! 5:11 Oh god PLEAAAAAAAAASSEAHHHH won't you help me make it through😢 ! Mmmmmmeh
Agressive then soft but firm then even softer right a the end. And in the please part he sings away from the mic right at the second half. This is just incredibly impressive.
forever thankful to whoever recorded this
I’m so glad this exists. This is the best version of this song. I’m right there in the crowd every time. And lanes voice is showcased as the main attraction 🤘🏽 thanks for uploading
5:13 when he looks up. Its like he was hoping for someone to be there...but I dont think he saw anyone. I miss Layne.
