if you watch the entire set Layne blows his voice during Love Hate Love. given how hard these guys were touring at this time, it's not surprising, especially the way he sings
Laynes vocal is so high in the mix, Its actually so impressive how good he is given that a live performance like that with the vocal up so high would usually lay out every bum note for even the most tone deaf of audience to notice.
Layne was such a good vocalist. You could see him adapting to what notes he could hit with the limitations being sick presented, and still delivered a good performance.

Who knows what second row front and center would cost? Never missed when VH and AIC came to the East Coast!!!!
My favorite performance of my favorite song by AIC! I love everything about it but my favorite part still to this day is at 1:05 when Mike is just jamming out looking at Jerry. The last verse and the pause always gets me. Such an amazing band. Layne was struggling a bit on his high notes here but still amazing.
Ladies and gentleman, this is the quintessential Grunge
lopazio Alice In Chains was not grunge. Don’t dishonor them like that.
Nathan Explosion but they were...
BlueBotMemes no, they were not.
Nathan Explosion what were they?
BlueBotMemes they are nothing but a softer metal band. Grunge is a music genre of simple riffs, a few chords and usually no solos. All of which Alice In Chains contridicts. There are many attributes to their music that prevent them as being labeled as grunge. Even Alice In Chains as a band agreed they weren’t grunge and were kind of annoyed they were being labeled as a grunge band, being that grunge at the time was very mainstream.
everything about this song is great the singing, guitar solo, bass & drumming
if you watch the entire set Layne blows his voice during Love Hate Love. given how hard these guys were touring at this time, it's not surprising, especially the way he sings
Curte Bones e curte AiC, foda mano!
Falou tudo
Banda formidável
Maaaaravilhosa
AIC with Layne is the only AIC. The best vocal. RIP
Laynes vocal is so high in the mix, Its actually so impressive how good he is given that a live performance like that with the vocal up so high would usually lay out every bum note for even the most tone deaf of audience to notice.
The drummer is awsome he is so spot on. Love him and his work 👍
Layne was such a good vocalist. You could see him adapting to what notes he could hit with the limitations being sick presented, and still delivered a good performance.
Layne sure pulls it off. Even though his voice sounded like it was gone that day. 🤘🤘
Even though layne was so sick beyond imaginable it’s still better than any new song that has been released
Tive a honra de poder estar neste show, um dos que mais me marcaram!!!
Soo lucky, bet the show was incredible!! I got to see them open up for Van Halen in like '91 I think and they IMMEDIATELY became my favorite band and singer of all time, still to this day although Mad Season truly holds a special place for me too ❤❤🙏🙏
Eu estava lá nesse dia. Experiência pra recordar toda uma vida.
this is still better than any impersonator that tried to be him afterward
beyond legend thank you layne
Que timbre foda, no geral! Sistema analógico de excelente qualidade! Pena que hoje em dia não se faz mais som ao vivo raiz assim.
Funny how people notice and comment on the cracks and voice issues. The following artists have covered this song and only the first got through it without a break: Aaron Lewis, Corey Taylor, James Hetfield, Breaking Benjamin,, Sevendust. These are people that sing for aliving and they can't handle this song. The fact that Layne was having an "off night" and still sounded amazing is just a testament to his ability. Best singer of all time.
This band came together as a whole without the mix of the group we would not of known Alice and Chains
Absolutely brilliant I love it.
Damn!!!!! That voice. So powerful. Sounds so badass, even when it's off....it just gets raspier and sexier. Mmmmmm. True master of his craft.
Easily one of the greatest rock singers to ever live! RIP Layne!
Quem viu esses caras no Hollywood Rock em 1993 como eu hoje lamentam o rock atual...
Such unreal control to keep it together that in key that level of improvisation while sick
Amazing performance!! Rest In Peace Layne and Mike, this performance shows how amazing this band is at what they do!
Amazing voice
📻 🔊~ Such a great era for music.
Obrigado pelo vídeo!!! 🤘🤘🤘🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Damn, this is great concert footage. Miss these guys so much. Devastated with Layne passed.
The last breath of fucking rock and roll. The end of it. Layne 26 yrs.
Love him forever!!Awesome video! Made my
day. Thank you!
Back then when you enjoy the concerts!!
Fantástico 🇧🇷👍
His voice was rough must have been touring.
Come on people !!! For crying out loud... when U just did 26 shows in less then 40days I wud EXPECT you people 2 get it... Plus if ur on this site U must be a AIC Fan 2 start w'. So give him a break !!! He PUSHED his voice on some songs & the normal good singers cud not Sing alot of them as him dones 2 start. Does it have 2 be "thus or that's Cas Thy are Not easy 2 sing (exp/ this 1 = 'Box' & "Bleed the Freak" Very hard 2 sing So pushes his voice often in many of the songs 2 start w'. Does it have 2 be "Coke" or any of Ur others belief you are "guessing at" What about singing 2 hours a nite - many shows - in a shot time & many are Hard 2 songs (like Adeles) anyone cud get a little sore throat or ur "cords" have just been pushed & need 2-3 days in a row every 2 weeks to Rest... Be Realistic !! evidenly - Ur NOT a singer.... Peace & Love 😚 bella bell
Bella Bell He clearly does understand though.....
I think he actually had a cold or something
He was also high on coke
Adam Bialkowski he cried a lot before this concert, as mike starr (bass) overdosed before this concert, when doing heroin with cobain, staley (and maybe courntney love) and they brought starr back to life.. also touring too
Gawd, I miss Layne! This was the last great era of rock music. The Seattle songwriters were savage poets man, especially Cantrell! I'm so grateful I got to see them live! RIP Mr Staley
The first song i remember and loved by them and it still relates all these years later , strangely but truly...
Neste show a primeira música foi them bones, e o volume ou o retorno do microfone estava baixo. Isso fez que Layne forçasse a voz para se escutar. Resultado: sem voz o show todo.
Obrigado por explicar. Achei a voz dele diferente nesta apresentação.
Somehow i love his voice like this... he is really high here...
I saw Alice and Chains open for Van Halen In 1991 at the Cap center in DC. I really didn't know who they were radio just started playing man in the box. With the house lights on this long haired blonde dude just started ripping on guitar by him self. I thought damn this guitar tech or roadie can shred? It was Jerry a couple minutes later the other guys came in and with the house lights on they finished their fffing awesome!! I wanted my ticket to be on EVH side but all they had left were obstructed view. They were the best seats I have ever got second row on the side of the stage. Who knows what second row front and center would cost? Never missed when VH and AIC came to the East Coast!!!!
Layne has never had a bad show always did the best no matter what
can you upload the rest of the concert? this is the highest quality audio of this show on youtube that i've ever found.
I'm sorry, pal, this is the only SBD track I've got
ManWithouties do you mind me ripping the audio from here and putting it under an 60fps video? if so it would be highly appreciated
Melts my heat and soul...❤️
AWESOME
amazing deep, powerful sounds! everything is perfect about this! RIP Layne and Mike.
Layne's voice sounds amazing
I truely believe Layne is in a good place. Amazing singer and band. ✨
Him and Andrew Wood.
My favorite performance of my favorite song by AIC! I love everything about it but my favorite part still to this day is at 1:05 when Mike is just jamming out looking at Jerry. This guy had everything at one time being able to make music with his best friends for a living to all of a sudden letting drugs and addiction take it all away, ultimately losing his life. It makes you appreciate the little things. I’ve also heard this was Mike’s last show with AIC and he cried during one of the songs.
love this
Escutei essa música 2 meses seguidos todos os dias durante uma das minhas piores fases com a cocaína.
Foi a fase mais destruidora com a droga, 60 dias seguidos se drogando sem parar. Dormindo de dia e acordado nas noites.
A great vocalist cut short
So much potential
I loved this song....played it over and over
Rest in peace my brother
Amazing.
I so love Mike Starr's bass in this song.
This had to be near the end of Mike’s tenure with AIC at this point.
@@jjcaron72 Yes agree.
As much as I respect Mike Inez as a bass player, I miss Mike Starr's contribution to AIC to this day.
R.I.P Mike Starr
