This is so far the closest video I've found to explaining how it works but as some trying yo learn PCB and the components that are placed on it I wouldn't mind a more indepth revisit of this with a schematic and explanation of how it switched from solar panel to battery. That is if you are willing. Thank anyway for this video.

HUH? that wasn't much.. any one with a touch of curiosity has pulled these apart before.... But I see what you did there.. and yes I am gonna follow the rabbit trail and see what you did with them.. nice trick.. I am in!

Ah yes, you make a good point re curiosity and dissecting these. Believe me... I don't even need to have a reason to start taking things apart. My "What's Inside" videos range from very simple items to larger, more elaborate stuff. This one is simple indeed and actually is a stage setter for future videos that I have in mind to do (that way I don't have to repeat all the what's inside and how it works stuff).
Thanks for watching and taking time to post your question.

@@DialedInDIY I suffer from an over abundance of curiosity myself, that was why I was kind of disappointed in your video.. although it got me looking (and subscribing) to your other video's... Carry on my brother.. I think this is gonna be a fun channel.. Thanks for all of your hard work!

Will never forget the Coolnegative!.. but like many other comments lately this one did not show up in my notifications (I really need to figure out what is going on with that). Thanks so much for the feedback... I've been tinkering with those lights while working on a couple of other projects for the season. My next vid will be on my take on the Disneyland fireflies used in the bayou but I am also finishing up making a 9 foot, fully articulated skeleton creature (not sure yet if that one will be video content so perhaps I make a short or just post pics). Hope all is well and as always I greatly appreciate the support and comments!

Is it possible to change the light bulbs to grow lights and change the battery to turn on during the day instead? Would be an amazing way to use these lights to help with flowers during growing season that are planted in shade.

Hello, if I change the inductor for one with a higher capacity, will the LED be brighter? If so, how many mH do you recommend?

It would be neat to make these smart, but the smart components would cost more than the actual light.
