Maybe you don't have the time or money to get away. Maybe you're stuck in quarantine. Whatever it is, you can turn your own space into something magical- and enjoy THAT, no matter what your situation.
Even if all you have is a balcony- get some plants, some lights, candles- throw down a sleeping bag and enjoy the fresh air!

I Love your magical space! I'm in a highrise, but I do have a balcony, with a full hammock on a stand, plants all around, my homemade beeswax candles, a little table for some tea and a book. And I feed and water the birds, so I've got some wildlife too! I often sleep out there. Headphones in, listening to some forest soundtrack!

Hi, I’m a new follower. I just discovered you about a week ago. Since then I have been binge watching you and your husband. I’m 76 years old and I live in a cabin surrounded by woods. I thank God for the beautiful nature all around me.
Hej yes this is a very nice channel you get to follow when she camps and fun to see her different projects. It's been a tough year with everything going on so when I'm home I put on a pot of coffee and watch the girl in the woods. So you have come to a very nice CZcams channel take care and have a nice week.
I think it's great to enjoy what GOD has made in our very short life. I almost died from a heart attack. It made me appreciate life more.

I wish you were my mom.. I’m such an outdoors girl, I love the woods, love camping, love fires, love Christmas lights in the woods, love creeks, my boyfriend & I lived in a cabin tent for 10 months once. The woods is my happy place.

During the pandemic of 2020, when all had to stay home in Washington, I started on my backyard. My yard is very small, but I have made it cozy. I like your lights, I think I will add some. It's good to see you again. Be well and stay happy.
We bought a couple of strings of solar lights for our fire ring out in the woods. We have to pull the battery packs and bring them up to the patio to charge because of the heavy foliage.
You stay well and safe also!

At “almost 80” (3 more months), I get such a kick out of your energy and enthusiasm for life. Thank you for this post- like creating a “secret garden hideaway”! Reminds me I have a string of lights, need to replace some flower baskets, more hummingbird feeders, and small wind chimes, etc.

When Covid shut down the forest (which is a stupid concept) I resorted to making a campsite across the creek, in our back field. It's less than a 1000 feet from my house but is very secluded and at night you can fool yourself into thinking you're "camping". LOL I'd seen your videos and never knew until recently that you all were on Alone! Amazing couple, both of you are incredible. Been binge watching Alone, such a shame that money didn't go to you two. Love you guys!

I love this!!! I am in the process of revamping my backyard into my little oasis. A little back story...I was 48 when My 50 yo husband of 30 years passed away unexpectedly April 2015. Needless to say my life has been turned upside down. We were avid campers, kayakers, geocachers, etc.. We had a Travel trailer and truck to pull. I couldn't financially maintain everything. I focused on saving our family home. Which, as of right now, I am able to do. Unfortunately, due to many circumstances, I have not camped since his passing.
Which leads to where I am now. I am in the process of transforming my backyard into an outdoor oasis/magical getaway. I have a 1972 Shasta travel trailer(Bday present form husband 12 years ago), firepit, flower/vegetable gardens, chicken coop, seating areas and a play area for grandkids. I live in a subdivision in the county and my yard is not huge but perfect for my needs, I believe under 3/4 of an acre. My goal is a camping/homesteading atmosphere aka my happy place. I am well on my way to end goal. It is a work in progress...like me.

Love the tent! We have a "nothing spot" at the back of our yard with a willow over it. Seeing your hanging chair has given me a great idea for that willow. And setting up the chimnea and stuff down there will transform that nothing spot into a happy spot! Cheers Brooke!!!!
OMG I love all of those spaces that you've created. A wonderful fairyland. I would so do all of that and I totally understand carving a peaceful spot or three, to be still and peaceful. Well, ya' know whatcha' got there...💗 A real life, human sized (and sweet dog) fairy house/enchanted grove! Love this! I don't have my own green space, but I've made my upstairs, enclosed back porch into my "getaway" happy place. 😊
Got a new tent,a spot cleared and were waiting for Elsa to pass, now that she's gone it's on! Camping out in our woods,cooking on the fire and loving being in my own woods.
I love it! It brings back memories of my childhood when all I had to play with was outside and my imagination. My imagination brought me on many wonderful adventures. 💙
I have turned my veggie garden into my secret garden. When the sun goes down and the lights come on, it is magical. Brooke, you have inspired me so.
We just bought 16 acres that adjoins our current property, and my kids are coming from Australia to live for a few years with us on the property. The woods already have walking paths. I've envisioned setting up a cabin and gardens here and there so we can camp out and enjoy the woods with the grandkids, and you and your husband have inspired me even more to get something started. Love the charcoal colored cabin you both built.

Beautiful little area in the combination of nature. Your energy and excitement about being outdoors is so infectuous. I live in a small apartment, so not able to do this in our yard area. But thank you for being an inspiration bringing out the love of nature in alot of us shut-ins.
That's what we did. Picnic table swing and firepit. My husband is disabled so fixed up a vacation spot for us to enjoy in the evenings with our dogs. Love you annette
loved how each magical room led to another. I'd have to have elevated/suspended pathways at night, tho. Four rattlesnakes here so far this week and I'm already wearing my Alaskan mud boots when I go out to tame the tall grasses.

Brilliant garden camp it looks amazing 😍..slugs..I've found the best natural deterrent ever..I was sceptical but it works..used coffee grinds ..that's it just sprinkle it over the ground where your plants are and the slugs/snails absolutely hate it! This is the first year I've had whole 🪴 I normally end up with eaten stalks and a flower if I'm lucky lol..but I've not had 1 chomp since putting the used coffee remnants down,I sprinkle just 1 batch from 1 expresso every day around the garden, give it a go and it's another way to recycle (much to the slugs horror) 😁..

I love your videos so much! I subbed and have been binge watching your videos :D. I live in an apartment, really miss having my own garden/backyard. So inspired by your adventures, that I started going into this tiny wooded area behind my building, just to sit,take pictures and listen to the birds. My neighbours have been very curious about what I'm doing back there, just enjoying my secret garden. To them its just a neglected part of the lot, to me its heaven :) It's like having a little bit of wilderness in my landlords backyard :D

Absolutely love it. I used to live in a mobile home park. Not much of a yard. But just enough room to set up a canopy & my own place to sleep with a patio & fire pit. It is the most peaceful relaxing setup to have for our mental stability.

While there's no outdoor place for me to do the same, I've turned my bedroom into a cozy, happy place. Put fairy lights around my ceiling, even. Turned my bathroom into a tropical space. I love it! I can Only camp in my yard! I do it every weekend it isnt 90'! I have a dozen rescue animals, 4 dogs 7 cats n a parrot...cant leave my home! Love you sweet stuff. You're such an inspiration. ROCK ON!!!

That's awesome. I'm living in a camper by my daughter's. I lived in one all winter and I live in central New York. Some chilly nights for sure. But I survived and even had covid. It was risky at my age(62). I'm still here. Thank God

This is awesome, always love your videos and ideas! Our family lives on 11 acres in SW Georgia. Our cabin home is pretty much in the woods and we have made a campsite right behind our house that we spend quite a bit of time hanging out at. I'm an avid trail runner and last October I did a 30-hour 50 mile running challenge. My son and I camped out in our tents in the campsite. I kept the fire going pretty much all night, as I would run a mile each hour. We had SO MUCH FUN, eating breakfast, lunch and dinner by the campfire. My son cheered me on from his tent as I ran looping through the campsite along the trail. Going to do it again this year, great memories and time together!
When i was a kid my dad was was building the house we grew up in and there was huge grape vines we would swing from..what kid could say they've ever done that ..memories are amazing

Brooke, you and Dave are such a joy to my heart! It is late August here in TX, 2022, and just cooling down enough for this fall chick to "get outside!" Mowed and cleaned out the back tree area yesterday and thought...I need to put up my hammock, add a firepit area and recharge. Then, here you are on video...with delightful inspiration. I am catching up on some of your earlier adventures. Your daughter is a jewel!!!

Actually, I am living in the second smallest flat, I ever had, together with my son and dog, but I love it for being so cozy and I filled it with all kind of plants, which make it so green and also have such a light string, because every day deserves to be celebrated and cherished. Plus: nature is just 7 min to walk away. You can create a lovely home and nature spot everywhere

Great to see this happy, awesome place you've created. Years ago my wife and I would set up tents for us and the kis n grandkids, with a couple tables for food, and a campfire with folding chairs all around it, doing hot dogs and s'mores! Fun!

Just a suggestion to make that lil hot tub work well without leaking. You can pick up some rubber pond liner for really a reasonable cost, run it inside and allow the rubber to go over a bit, form a band with aluminum or tin molding that can be screwed down to keep the liner from slipping in, and you are set to enjoy that wonderful rustic tub. :). Great channel. Love your energy.
