  • I decided to take apart my Sig Sauer P250 subcompact for a thorough cleaning. The slide disassembly is fairly easy. The reassembly is not as easy. Over all the P250 is a very simple firearm, and has fewer parts than most. If there are any questions feel free to post a comment or send me a pm.
    It is not necessary or recommended by Sig Sauer that you disassemble this firearm any more than just a basic field strip, but here is some help if you want it. This may void your warranty as well.

    Thank you for these videos. I looked everywhere trying to find out how to replace the rear sight till found your videos. Sigs is are great gun and good company, but I find it amazing they try to strong arm you into having their gunsmiths install night sights on this firearm.

      The P250 is probably the most difficult to put night sights on. That being said, it is definitely doable. Just take your time and know that it might take several tries to get the roll pin back in. Thanks for watching.

    @bgomusicco I've got around 500 rounds through the gun. Sig doesn't recommend doing this thorough of a cleaning. I'm a 1911 guy and do a complete disassembly after every shooting session. The Sig on the other hand really wasn't too bad. I'll probably end up doing a complete cleaning every 6 months. It is my carry gun, so it gets a little dusty. It's all personal preference. Thanks for watching.

    Thank you for this video. I am about to Cerakote a P250 slide and this was very instructional.

    Thanks. I picked up a P250C used and did a through clean (save for the slide disassembly) to make it 'mine', I'm an over maintainer. I knew the roll pin was integral to getting the slide broken down, you video filled in the missing pieces.

    Thanks for info, I had a P250 compact with night sights and a sub compact that didn't. Since a CCW the sub I watched this and switched them out. The roll pin was a little pain but not compared to changing out the front. Let's say Dremel, sand paper and metal files. 👍🏼👍🏼

    Thanks - glad I found a good video for slide disassembly of the P250. My compact .40 has either a broken firing pin, or most likely, firing pin spring. I won't know until I punch out that roll pin and take it out. The P250C .40 is probably the most accurate hand gun I've ever fired. It's still an awkward pistol - DAO. I'm considering a P320C .40. I want to get the .357 Sig barrel for my P250C and try it out. The P250C is not meant for true rapid fire, like a true semi automatic, but still, for a DAO, it's a damned good pistol

      Turns out, the tip of the firing pin had snapped off, AND the spring was broken at the very end. 2 coils had broken. That's really weird it happened that way.I hate to admit it, but I did a LOT of dry firing with this P250. I think most people do though. That might or might not be the cause. Anyway, I watched this video, and it was a piece of cake removing the broken parts. I've order the new parts.

    i would like to know how many rounds you have through your P250, and if the inside of the slide gets dirty enough to warrent taking it apart for cleaning the fireing pin channel etc. i have well over 4k rounds through my 9mm compact and was thinking about taking the slide apart to check the build up.
    thank you.

    Great video! Thank you! Have you ever removed the front sight on the P250? Just wondering if you have any tips on that process.

    • @TheManWith2FirstName
      @TheManWith2FirstName  Před 5 lety

      Karli Loves turtles Thanks. I never did remove the front sight. There are specific pushers available. Some people end up using aluminum punches. You just have to be very cautious with night sights and breaking the tritium vials.

    Good video. Worked great for disassembling my slide to put on a rear night sight. That roll pin though..... that roll pin was a bitch to get back into its' proper position.

    Have you ever experienced any malfunction/ftf on this gun?

    • @TheManWith2FirstName
      @TheManWith2FirstName  Před 9 lety

      Adrian Rubi No malfunctions. The grip was a small and my thumb did want to hit the slide stop. So it did lock open and close on an empty chamber a couple of times. I did shoot 2,000-3,000 rounds through it.

    This is the most painfully slow slide disassembly video I have ever watched.
