  • Let's talk about momentum, momentum rates and how they work on SoundTraxx decoders to make your model train operation more prototypical.
    CVs Used in this video:
    CV 3 Baseline Acceleration Rate: controls how fast the locomotive responds to increases in throttle settings.
    CV 4 Baseline Deceleration Rate: controls how fast the locomotive will respond to decreases in the throttle setting.
    Both CVs can be programmed with any value from 0 to 255, with 255 corresponding to the slowest acceleration or deceleration rate. Lower settings yield a more responsive locomotive, which is useful for switching. When both CVs are set to 0, the locomotive will respond nearly instantly to any throttle changes. A setting of 255, on the other hand, will require several minutes for a locomotive to reach full speed from a standing stop. Setting acceleration and deceleration rates can allow the speed of the locomotive to match the sound effects regulated by Dynamic Digital Exhaust.

    Thanks for this video, George! I've learned to open up CV3 and CV4 on all my Tsunami2"s. So that they will run like a big heavy locomotive. It doesn't matter if it a GP38, MP 15 or ES44. They run like they are heavy. I love the Tsunami2!

    I have just bought two of your Next18 N Scale Sound Decoders with the GE for my two Farish Class 60's. I will be posting my videos on how to fit them when they arrive to me.

    I cannot wait to do a Blunami!! I think it is "So the way to go"!! If I can fit it into an old Kato RS3, that will be my first project.

      N-Scale? The BLU-2200 will likely be too large, but you can see the specifications on our website: soundtraxx.com/blunami

    Hi George, great video. I have a question. How can I change the sound in to decoder if I would like to do it? Exist a sound bank? Thanks for you response.

    • @SoundtraxxDCC
      @SoundtraxxDCC  Před 2 měsíci

      There are a lot of ways to change the sound. There are several CVs for bell, airhorn, chuff, prime movers, ect and even more CVs for volume, pitch shift, echo, reverb, and equalizer. All of this is explained in the manuals available on our website. To better answer your question please give out Support Team more detail about what you are wanting to set up: (970)259-0690 or support@soundtraxx.com

    George, how about setting a top speed so our kids or grandkids can't run our trains like slot cars? I do not need to have a locomotive rocketing around the layout.

      Check out this video: czcams.com/video/MEz7ajwM7-Y/video.html and use it to build a custom table for speed, or set a max speed. CVs are the same, but on the Blunami these are under speed settings.

    Does everything you said about CVs 3 and 4 also apply to N scale Sound Value decoders?
