SUMMARIES:
- Michael Jordan was one of the most popular players in the NBA during the 80s and 90s. Similarly to how McDonald’s collaborates with movies to create new toys, they sometimes did the same thing with athletes.
- As we mentioned before, it’s common for McDonald’s Happy Meal toys to be in collaboration with the newest children’s movies that are out in theatres. For the promotion of the live action version of the film 101 Dalmatians, released in 1996, McDonald’s decided to release a set of toys based off of the film.
- Hello Kitty is a popular Japanese figure in the world of kids TV and basically any product you could buy worldwide. For the 40th anniversary of the character in 2014, McDonald’s decided to release a line of Happy Meal toys in her honor.
- In the early 1980s, McDonald’s determined it needed to help this issue and promote better oral hygiene to kids so it decided it would be a good idea to place a toothbrush and toothpaste in its Happy Meals, to get kids to scrub off all that grease from their teeth after eating the fast food.
- Before the whole McDonaldland marketing concept was dropped from the restaurant in recent years, it was common for some McDonald’s Happy Meal toys to feature popular characters from the series.
- This next toy combines themes of two previous categories of bad McDonald’s Happy Meal toys we’ve seen: encouraging kids to be active and go outdoors and basing things off of McDonaldland. Kids love camping, there’s nothing better than spending some time outside in the wilderness, and imagine just how much better camping would be if it was McDonald’s themed?
- In 1992, the Disney film Mighty Ducks was released, gaining lots of popularity and grossing over 50 million dollars domestically at the box office. This led to an animated television show spin-off that featured actual half human half ducks who played hockey. Shortly after the release of the show in 1996, McDonald’s released a line of Happy Meal toys based off of it.
- The first ever Happy Meal toy set included a McDoodle stencil, an ID bracelet, a puzzle lock, a spinning top, a McDonald’s character shaped eraser, and most bizarre of them all, a McWrist Wallet. The McWrist Wallet came in several different colors and looked like a plastic wristwatch, except there was no clock on it, just a blank circle.
- It was to be expected that McDonald’s would release a line of minion toys for the promotion of the film Minions in 2015. But, there was a slight problem with these minion toys.
- Beanie Babies were all the rage among kids in the late 90s and nearly everyone you know had one, or even an extensive collection. The immense popularity of the toys led to McDonald’s using miniature versions of them called Teenie Beanie Babies in its Happy Meals between 1997 and 2000.

Y'know those 101 dalmatians are *NOT* sad. In fact, when i was a kid, my aunt and uncle had almost all of them. My favourite thing to do while at their home was play with dalmatians. No sadness in that toy
The beanie babies were by far the best ones and I still love them, and I do like that they did Beanie Boo-ish versions of the original Teenie Beanies back in 2017.

The reason it was on the list was because there was 101 to collect, which would take a lot of time. It’s also very unhealthy and a waste of money to buy 101 happy meals. Probably even more cause you could get a duplicate

The Dalmatians were wrapped in white paper so you couldn’t tell which one it was. And we were also told to look for a golden Dalmatian. I worked there at this time. But I never heard of anyone actually finding a golden Dalmatian.

They recycled a lot of the Michael Jordan fitness fun toys for their summer games 1992 promotion. The basketball, soccer ball, water bottle, stopwatch, baseball, and frisbee were in that set too!
The garden set was one of my favs as a kids. But that might be because we used while playing in the dirt & at the beach.

powerpup97 #7 they wanted kids to also make better life choices by brushing their teeth a lot more their hearts where in the right place with #7. They were trying to Promote Good Oral Hygenie at the time it was back in the late 1980’s. But they eventually stopped.#7 was just excuted the wrong way. Just like the NBA toys were suppose to promote kids to be more activate and get excerise and the books that McDonald now sells whenever they can promotes kids to Read more.
#9:it was probably only overkill to collect because you had to collect all 101 of them without getting duplicates which would take way too long.
#6 they just wanted to do the characters/mascots for the restaurant in the toy collection somehow flying aircrafts.Mcdonalds for the longest time had to come up with ideas on their own they probably just weren’t sure what colors to use at the time and solid colors was just there go to Idea even if it wasn’t the greatest idea but still. This was probably one of them.
#5 is a collaspable red cup all the toys in this collection were camping themed they just couldn’t be used properly due to how they were made.
They fixed number #8 immediately after the two incidents and recalled the whistles and replaced with a different hello kitty toy. The whistles weren’t manufactured properly somehow the manufacturer should have spent more time on the whistles to make them properly.
#4 It was based off of the animated tv version of mighty ducks the one done from 1996-1997 which is why they had the ducks ontop of them. The characters just didn’t stay ontop of the pucks properly to be played with when the characters were ontop of the pucks.its not that the characters didn’t look like the characters they were just poorly badly cheaply bad so much that the characters just didn’t stay ontop of the Pucks for very long

#2:Parents just weren’t hearing the toys speaking properly they overreacted the minions don’t swear at all. they just say 3 different catch phrases that their characters used in the movies like Hahahaha,Para La Buke&.Eh Eh Eh and A Lot Parents Took Those 3 Phrases as the Minions Saying What The F(As In What The Fuck). It’s why McDonalds didn’t stop selling them because A Lot Angry Parents weren’t hearing the minions correctly.
#1: IAm guessing it’s either because they’re cheaply made or they aren’t extremely rare yet since McDonalds still sells them in happy meals to this day with different collections. They wouldn’t be the same as the ones from the store where years later you could make a fortune off of them.

I worked at McDonald’s when the Dalmatian’s was the toy. Adults were so annoying trying to collect them all. McDonald’s did sell the full set I believe.
