- I've just watched this back and realised I mis-understood one of the questions. It said: If you got married would you have the honeymoon in the van? My tired brain read it as: would you have the ceremony in the van!
The answer is: Probably not, I'd like to have the honeymoon somewhere like Vegas and stay in a nice hotel.

I brought a 22 year old motor home. A 2 birth, built on a Boxer chassis. I travel all the time and free park. I love it. When I was young and my husband was alive. We owned 5 V.W. Combies. Over the years. But now over 70. I cant crawl around in a van. Motor homes have a bathroom and I have a full kitchen. I just love it. I have a house but happier in my motor home.

My husband & I live off-grid & have for a year now. We're not youngsters (ha), but in 2019-2020 our life "spoke" quite clearly and we listened and acted.
We've had more conversations about poop the last year than I ever thought possible!
We don't have kids, so we missed the opportunity to talk about it then.
At the moment I find "bathrooming," showering & trying to survive the cold the most difficult parts.
We are not near any significant towns or cities & having that infrastructure could be helpful (and maybe comforting).
On the other hand we are surrounded by acres of peaceful beauty & stillness and that makes my soul sing.
So all of this by way of asking you what is the "unit" you are mentioning?
I'm tempted to think it's what we would call a storage unit in the US but there is no way you could use a toilet or do office work or anything like that in a storage unit here in the US.

Jane: yes the unit is a storage unit - it can be seen in one of his videos. Some have a toilet and some don't, depends what you want to pay for. The UK is much smaller than USA (Ha Ha ! But it's something you don't appreciate unless you've been there). I have been to USA so I understand it's vastness. In the UK you can travel from top to bottom usually in two or three stages and it will take two days, but James lives almost in the middle (more north than south) and then you have to consider the petrol costs. I'm glad you are enjoying your peaceful life 💟
Thank you so much, your life sounds wonderful. My unit is similar to a storage unit but I have 24hr access and there is shared bathrooms but it's very quiet, I very rarely see anybody.
James I watched your first video a few weeks after you posted it as I watch a lot of van life videos it just popped up and at first I thought ahh this is just another boring van life youtuber but I have to say I stuck with it as we were in similar situations and backgrounds and I have to say I'm glad I did because the content you produce is unique. It's so interesting and fun and most of all you and Helen are so open and honest. I'm not surprised you have more fans as nobody on CZcams is doing what you are doing. You my number one favorite channel and apart from a few car fixing up CZcams channels I don't watch much van lifers as its boring bollox and they copy each other. You and Helen are the best by far in CZcams land and keep up the great content and work💪😊

Me and hubby got married in Las Vegas just us 2 and Elvis impersonator 😂😂😂 walked me down the isle in the Little white wedding chapel it was absolutely brilliant best thing we ever did it cost ue 2ooo pound for everything including the flights coming up to 23 years in December 😂😂😂😂😂

Great content James honest and funny as usual the best parts is when you’re showing us the pubs and trying out the fish and chips as for you having a new van sometimes I’ve found that when van lifers upgrade the content seems less interesting and more corporate regarding sponsors etc love your channel I’ll look forward to your next adventure 👍

Hello I lived in a large motorhome for a year 10 years ago parking on the streets and although it was comfortable I don't recommend it People are always suspicious and bother you even though it was modern and expensive plus difficult to blend in and parking in supermarkets when shopping takes up 2 spaces

Loved this question/answer video. Nice to hear that your daughter is really enjoying the van and doing little trips with you. About full time van lifers, most of them do take a break from their van whether it be staying with a friend or relative, or an Airbnb and there's a couple that do house/pet sitting so they can take a van break. You're definitely a full time van lifer. Looking forward to your up coming trips, I love Spain too. Have fun wherever you're off to now....enjoy!

Personally I like your little one on one chats, it’s great to see how well you are doing and the confidence you have since the first couple of videos too. Also personally, I’d love to see a van build, I have finished my van but always look for new van builds as love watching people make their own little homes. I think it makes great content. But whatever you and Helen do, it’s always nice to watch and as they say, variety is the spice of life so just keep doin whatever makes you happy 😊

Loving the channel. When I was young I lived in vehicles full time for 12yrs. I had lots of ridiculous comments if I wintered up at one place for a few months. "You're not a proper traveller" bollards. Live your life. You only get one. We all do wrong and we all do right. You have to navigate the moral compass in a way that your conscience feels comfortable with. The rest be damned.

Since I’ve been subscribed to your channel James, I decided to buy a Motorhome and go full time. I absolutely love it, recently on my own. Buy that Motorhome…quick it’s a game changer

understand the bill anxiety. i've come close to an itinerant life style like you but i wouldn't handle it as well. Especially in the winter lol. My thing is motorbikes, old ones and i'm considerably older than you - as i've travelled about in the UK i have become ever more disappointed with towns and resorts, often so taudry and alien from how i remembered those i went to when younger.
From the 22nd of September there is a big country and western festival at brean sands Somerset near western super mare. Great fish and chip ship in Burnham on sea should check it out 😊
