    What weird 8x4 you guys stil use in NZ the 2+2 truck. Back in day we use them to in EU when 8x4 where stil new for truck who need pull trailer but we use now 8x4 1 axle up front and 3 in back where all weight is. Most time 6x2 4x2 and 6x4 for total weight 150T heavy transport and 8x4 / 10x4 can go up 260T
    Onlye time we stil use them in EU is for dump trucks or cement or truck with crane on them
    4:25 we holland wil have 3 in back one axle on front because front is realy light.

      Agree with you, but in my case I drive MB Arocs log truck with the crane behind the cab and the steering axle can be overweight quite quickly, so I have to load logs a bit to the end of the truck. If you have the crane behind the chassis than the front axle is light. Cheers from Slovenia.

      8x4z can carry what a 6x4 or 100x50🤣 . It all depends on setup and requirements you need it for and trailer and axles etc. In NZ most 8x4 tractors go in front of a super quad. 15.6m trailer with 4 axles or tnt 8x4 with a 5 axle pull trailer for 50T-58T gross. Nz has strict axle weights because we dont have billion dollar road systems like such countries so we have to distribute the weight to slow the damage of roads and bridges. Try driving here 58T up and down steep hills is just as harsh as towing road trains fro. Aus

      @@nztrucker1542 sure it all depends on setup and needs I agree. NZ have really nice roads (I've been to the south island on vaication for a month). In Slovenia we have bad roads because they are old. Our axle wheight is 8t per axle and 40t gross. When my boss bought a truck it's 6x6 but the axles are strogner than regular so there is less damage on the truck, but this added weight, same goes for the trailer (2 axles). More axles makes the ride more stable and confortable. In Switzerland tipper trucks are 5 axle but they don't carry that much more weight. Cheers to NZ 😊

      @nztrucker1542 Před 5 lety

      @@edijeglic yeah that's all it's about distributing the weight. My preference twin steers look better on some setups spesh the k200 tntrailer north island has most population and busier roads and probly more hills and corners

      Peoples choice. There's a big market in NZ for all types and combinations of trucks . Me personally love euro but also love kenworth k200 and argosy. So it's a choice owners choose when purchasing such as tare weight. Setups to your requirements for the job the truck will be doing.engine,gbox,diff for the job . Cab sizes etc
