LYRICS:
The sum of all the things you were
stayed in my mind
The people that you loved,
The ones you left behind
When you prayed
When you cried
When you broke down inside
All the light
Empty night, waiting
Get out
I broke down the wall on your side
I never should’ve put it up
Needed to shelter my mind
You’re never gonna know
When everything else is over
You’re just another memory
Maybe the test has just begun
The darkness of the sea
When you said it’s not for me
The mountain air so cold
Like the stories that you told
When you danced
When you smiled
When you walked through the fire
All the light
Empty night, waiting
Get out
I broke down the wall on your side
I never should’ve put it up
Needed to shelter my mind
You’re never gonna know
When everything else is over
You’re just another memory
Maybe the test has just begun. - Hudba
This guy is sooo smart... he retired from his previous band where he wasn't leading and maybe not doing the sound he liked, so he went back to CZcams and continued building a mega hyped community with his awesome tricks and showoffs. Once he had millions of followers, he knew launching his new band and making it something big in internet would be really easy, furthermore, his hook about "we are aware this is gonna be reacted and we'll post all reactions in our social media" is another brilliant play, because he knows a lot of the reactors will now do it fast to get more views and get hooked to the hype he generated... the results are there ... about 780k views in his first day!!
He provided high end content, with great marketing. The dude works hard, gotta respect it. 🤘
@@metal-adjacent don't think I don't!! I reckon his hard work dedication!! I was just stating what kind of genius I think he is!
@@metal-adjacent btw, I LOVE the song with it's late nineties vibes and I'll go to any of their concerts whenever they play near me... Gotta support local bands!!!
@ hell ya!
I got early Breaking Benjamin meets Deftones from this one (& that's a solid compliment in my book!), but considering Peter & Chris play together in a jazz band, they likely have the musical chops to take us down all sorts of interesting paths.... & I'm 100% here for it!! :)
Should be fun!
Thank you. Finally someone mentioned Queens of the Stone Age. The flow, groove and vocals of this song reminded me very much of them. But the chunk, tone and certain riffs are much like Deftones and several other late 90's Nu Metal bands. My first impression was that Korn, Deftones and Queens of the Stone Age had a secret love child. As an old school Metalhead from the 90's having worked in the industry for a while I very much look forward to seeing what these guys bring to the table. I am very impressed with them thus far.
I loved it and it's been playing in my head the last day! It's funny to me how everyone compares them to other bands and tries to categorize them. Realistically, every group is using the same Western chord structures, instruments and vocals so unless they're throat singing or using spoons there will be similarity. Every artist is influenced by the music they hear and like. The genius is taking the influences, instrument choices, etc. and blending them with your own creativity and making something great! I think this was a bang up first song!
I would agree
You should check out his drum covers! He’s insane on the drums
I've seen some. They are really great.
That nostalgic feeling you're getting is the return of Nu Metal.
The intro pitch bend instantly reminded me of 46 seconds into Bullet for my Valentine 'Tears Don't Fall', but the song itself was nothing like it, love the track, bought it instantly
They kinda have a Sevendust vibe to them. Amazing!!!! Great song, can’t wait to see more.
Same! Seems like a cool project
Ufffff , si sick . Love this first single from The Cost. Hopping for more excellent material from them . Best wishes rock dip✊🏻

"This reminds me of something, so much, and I cant put my finger on it" - Pretty much sums this up. I've watched like 10+ reaction videos to this, and the comments name pretty much every nu-metal band in existence. I feel the exact same way, it reminds me of several bands, but none at the same time. Amazing song, cant wait to see what they do next.
Reminds me of a lot of late 90s-early 00s post-grunge and more mainstream nu-metal & alt metal, but there's some twists to it, some contemporary metal, a little R&Bish. I mean, there are a lot of specific bands I could name but people have mostly already named them. Sounds pretty good and fairly polished for a new band working together less than a year though.
@@mediumvillain I agree 100% - Everyone will draw their own comparisons, and I guess its the same with their inspiration.
And as you say, its how polished they are which surprised me. And if this is the first thing they release, which they did in like a week, I wonder what they will produce with more time. Definitely looking forward to seeing more
The harmonies of the singer reminds me of Killing Joke
I'm not familiar with that one by name
great song, also he demonstrated his hability on the drums but not needing to just go nuts overfeeding every part, it was just on point (in my opinion)
specially crazy considering its their first song, it absolutely does not sound like it
It was bugging me too, your thinking of Sleep Token but The Cost are more Grove, with like a Nu Metal Korn Vibe but also totally not.
Reminds me of Breaking Benjamjn
love to see my main man on the screen!
Thanks bruv!
Reminds me a lot of Chevelle's groove.
I get early Chevelle vibes from this song.
Take all of the soundtrack of Queen of the Damned and smash it into 1 song/ group and here ya go. 😂
This sounds like Petit Brabancon minus Kyo's voice. I like it.
I had a band that I wrote and arranged all the instruments. Went in to recording with 5 songs and came out with 13. The first 5 were planned and scripted. The other 8 were like… my brother and I jammed on this riff 10 years ago, can I make a song out of it? Then full on writing a banger(for me) in under an hour. It does not surprise me that these musicians could write and record such a song in a week. How tight everything is a statement to their proficiency.
Fair enough. I just know how intricate a recording process can be. But of course, a lot of different approaches are used.
@@metal-adjacent my point, I guess l, is that creative juices can excellerate when approached with a deadline. I made my own originals and slightly inspired songs. Many years was 5 songs, a month with pressure is 8 songs. I honestly don’t you think you understand how songs happen.
@@mybrotherjames8579 songs are made in many ways. For example, Periphery writes as they record.
Queen of the Damned
When you said it reminds you of something, i said the same exact thing, i have no idea!. When you think of it let us know, and if i get it ill let you know!😂😂
Hell ya! Good idea
Alice and chains | Them Bones
it sound similar to deftones
Agreed. For some reason I got a chill Queens of the Stone Age vibe
Is it sevendust it reminds you of?
I can't remember. I'm going to have to re-listen with fresh ears
First!
Luh yew. Psss whss hwss hwss
Avon
Not being to put your finger on 1 specific influence makes it a great track.
Music should have been louder while playing the video man.😢
Maybe a bit. It's tricky because I do this live, and every video is a different volume. Also, usually I edit the video and add compression which helps my mic sound a bit.
It reminds me to a Catalan band called "Madee" but I don't think you know 'em...??
I do not! Come check out my livestream on Fridays and bring some stuff!
