- Going fast on a budget? Nobody does it better than RUSH Auto Works in Houston, Texas. Their SR-1 is a $28k track-tearing monster capable of 0-60 in 3.3 seconds. In addition to being FASTER and CHEAPER than most supercars, this affordable exotic is also incredibly eye-catching with its recessed LEDs, dual exhaust, and optional carbon wing. Plus, Rush is planning to release and even more powerful RUSH GT hypercar sometime in the future! Can this new cheap supercar brand compete with well-stablished names like Factory Five and B-Racing?

Something like this should be in between Karts and F3. This is definitely about the same speed as a superkart, but likely drives more like a car than karts do.
@@TeodorSpiridon yep that sounds about right
@@TeodorSpiridon I honestly feel it should be more of its own series rather than an F1 stepping stone. Imagine the innovation in a series where cars can only cost 50k or something like that. Essentially the original stock car racing but the target is absolute highest performance on a budget affordable to normal people. If you could make that a big thing then I think it would not only be great for the automotive industry it would also be thoroughly entertaining.
Yup

Much safer than one of those karts but not the same capabilities. This car definitely isn't for newbies though. I'd definitely be very proficient at a track in a "regular" car before getting behind the wheel of this thing.
Karts are really fun and relatively cheap, honestly don’t see why one needs to go for a bigger vehicle, except the convenience of possibly driving it to the track

This reminds me of the bac mono but 1/8 the price
Like how the promo video shows a C5 pulling away from it through, and out of a corner. Just how bad ass those cars are.
Cool concept though. Ive been thinking something like this for a long time. Center seat, 1000cc inline 4 screamer, something smaller, like the college mini F1 style cars. BAC Mono esc type car. But i would also want a very simple AWD system. Ala-these new hybrids. An electric motor for the front wheels, that only works at under 45-55mph at 60-75% or more throttle for front wheels only, while gas for the rear. Both at same time. Then it kicks off at 45-55mph and rear wheela gas only power stays. And make it a throttle input like that so you dont always have that front pull if you dont want. But if you mash it, you get it.
Some real simple breaklight type switch would work for that. Or a real simple controler, at 60% throttle you get 50% power, 70% throttle gets 75% power. Or just ramp the power with speed instead, 0-60mph you get 10-100% power spread out. Obviously whatever testing to make the front not spin would be needes.
But pair that, with the motorcycle gas enegine driving rear wheels and you have a super fast acceleration car that is cheap. Waiting for my detached garage to get started.
Love the center seat. If they made a three seat road car, I would buy one!
There’s about a thousand miles between a bike-engined track car and a street legal GT.
The Artists-rendering depiction of the street car is just that-a drawing. No one should hold their breath awaiting it.
Pretty slick....
Ya. $30,000 isn’t exactly CHEAP. It is when you’re talking about track munching hypercars. But that’s not what this is. It’s a motorcycle engine in a small car package. Honestly, if you gave me $28,000 to spend and make my own “track” car I could make one that would be nearly this fast. I can’t wait to see what their next vehicle comes out with though. This is def a good start.
No you couldn't.
Great idea.
I want to build stuff like this for a living
Get an engineering degree. I'm not one of those "everybody needs college" types but you'd need it to get into this realm.
Way fast....And, great price! What's not to like?
I'm down looking at the website ATM and yay affordable racing 😃😃
Very interesting 👌
As expected, these received a price bump of over $10k recently, and now cost under $40k to start
Still something worth considering though
A nice turbo or supercharged Hayabusa or zx14 drivetrain would put it into untouchable territory for this price range.
It already is in untouchable territory for this price range. Overpowering the chassis would be a terrible idea.
So awesome!
Great idea let’s keep things cheap so everybody can get in but now this is a great thing.
Will there be other engine options? This would sound sick with the R1 crossplane in it
Wouldn't that double the cost?
@@Iffy50 I'm sure it would. I can't afford it anyway. I just think it would sound good. 😄
Spec engine for spec series! Yamaha canceled when the canceled the R1 Dirt car project!
Whit 145hp It's more a Porsche killer than a Ferrari
Brillian car. Wonder why they did not just use the Hyabusa motor? I don't think it would cost much more than the GSXS motor and provide more power with more longevity. The Hyabusa motor is also used in many vehicles like this.
Many reasons, 1) 200hp in this car for most folks would be too much. 2) Engine life 3) Costs, the R needs to be dry sumped. 4) Stability of the platform we are running a spec series Also Radical advise a 50 hr rebuild we advise 150 hr!
@@RushAutoWorks 1) could the engine not be restricted for certain people and race classes, and unrestricted for those who want the power? 2) Engine life, the GSXS, former GSXR1000 motor has better engine life that the busa motor? I always thought the busa motor had very good longevity. 3) I don't understand, the hyabusa needs a dry sump added and the GSXS does not? 4) I assume you are mentioning the spec series requires 1000 cc or less, this makes sense. So the Radical is running a stock busa motor and you are running a stock GSXS motor and a busa motor requires a rebuild 3 times as often? This seems odd, but I am no expert. Very cool car, cant wait to find out more about it. It looks like you have a very good design.
@@f1hotrod527The Radical with the stock Hyabusa motor is 100 hours for rebuild. It's the 1500cc version that is 50 hours.
The Rush doesn't need big power. Everyone is so focused on the engine. Drive one, then let me know how you like. I can arrange for that, at $300 per track session.

Yep it was designed to fit guys that are a little larger, Talk to Adrian at Primal he has driven it and is your size.... he may be a 14!
Kawasaki tried something similar years ago, and it didn't get enough interest. Affordable race cars I have always believed, is what would help save automotive racing sports, well into the future. It's those low costs, that helps more people get into racing, and makes it cheaper to manufacture, sponsor, and build teams. Many automotive racing associations have been trying to find a sweet spot, when it comes to performance and cost, along with keeping fans interested. This ideology, can help bring in more sponsorship for cheaper, and allow more funds for advertising and promoting the sport. I give them props for trying there hand at this ideology, and hope it works out for everyone involved.
Luckily, the Hosie's gamble has paid off. This car is a huge success

No watch the video they tell you :)
There’s only one important question- when can I buy the street legal version?

29 grand, affordable for "normal guys", normal upper middle class guys. The median American income is in the mid 30s.
