Nice video brother... I've got a 2017 ranger 3.2 and I wish to do the PMS myself... hope you will post more videos... just subscribed to your channel... keep rockin'
Stupid question maybe but I've never had a start stop button for the engine. Just ordered the facelifted 2019 ranger and this one has one. How do you do a stage 2 ignition to prime the pump without twisting any keys? :D
Do we have to unplug negative battery terminal before everything or what? I saw you remove an electrical socket, does it need battery unplug first or not?
If motor runs only about 20sec and then stalls or after priming it runs only 2-3secs. Just keep priming like 3-4 times and then let startmotor crank the engine like 3-4sec and if motor start running give it immediatelly gas with pedal. That helped it run further than 3sec in my case. Just repeat this and motor will work again eventually.
I made a mistake and opened the top lid of the fuel filter housing. Now fuel is leaking when the vehicle starts. I have been looking for the o ring but to no avail. The company is telling me I have to buy the entire housing. Someone please advise. Thanks
Oh now theres a question, and to be honest I'm not sure. The basis of the process will be the same, as for if Ford used the same shitty pump on an Everest I'm not so sure. I know it's in the Rangers and the Transits.
Just a quick question dave, I've got the 3.2 2017 and when I sit at constant speeds it goes all jerky and bucking about, only for a few seconds then stops. Dont suppose you know what it can be? No fault codes and no one seems to know what it is 😔🤷♂️
Not really, but could it be bad fuel? Fuel pressure? MAF sensor? Sorry I know a wide range of things but off the top of my head that where I'd be starting.
@@DetailingandtheBeast thanks for the reply, I've always used esso supreme diesel (yeah pricey but I wanted my truck to be clean) I just thought about throttle position sensor 🤔 maF sensor could be another on the list, thanks Dave
Detailing and the Beast - DaveCHCI the only reason I'm deciding to do it is because I can't see it on my service invoice.....which I had done 7K mike ago😳!
Not a big deal My hose coming from the engine has two clips on it one on the bottom and on the top (late 2017)all straightforward thumbs up (I’ve done heaps of these on Toyota hiace van so housing is very similar
Yes I believe so. I have just checked the part numbers for the filter on the 2.2 and the 3.2 and they are the same (Mahle 503590530). So the process should be identical.
Officially I think it's like 50000miles or 4 years. Realistically and looking at mine after 20000 miles 2 years, I'd say that was a better schedule. The price is dirt cheap so makes no sense to put it off.
Followed all your instructions...have the same situation the car starred and after 20 secs it stopped by its on and now would not even start. I have Ford Ranger Wildtrak 2014 diesel 2.2 and with new batteries. I can here a whinning sound and wont stop. Would stop only if i switch off the key. Tried 7 times to prime with no good result. Fuel tank is half full. ....any recommendations?
@@DetailingandtheBeast I have read about his case but i have done more than 8 times cycle of On and Off ignition but still not working. I am avle to start for 2 to 3 secs qnd it dies off
@@eduardojr.contreras5883 it should be self purging which is why you do the priming actions. Have you checked that the connectors are all on correctly, in the correct order / position, and that the markings on the housing are lined up.
Brilliant.
Saved me money.
Thank you!
You're very welcome
Very useful. Thank you.
That was brilliant thaks a lot for the lesson ...Jan Strydom South Africa
Thanks Jan. Appreciate the feedback.
Cool mate, great vid
Love the vid man. Can you do a vid replacing the fog lights on a px2 as well? Would appreciate it
thank you for sharing this.
No problem. It's easy now you know how!

Hi again Dave ,Would you please show me how to remove and clean the EGR valve on the 2015 Ranger px2 !

Thanks mate! I was wondering why the engine still stalls after priming, luckily I've read this comment and helped us solve the problem immediately.
Is it okay if they are not in line? only the middle one but the top and bottom one are in line. It's too tight

Hi there Dave is it the same procedure as 2015 Ford Everest/endeavor? Thanks!

Hi Dave.....do you think this whole process would apply to my ranger? And how often do you change yours?
Yes dont see why not. It's an easy change and for the cost it should be done more often. Mine is done every 10k miles.

do you have the tdi tuning box? do you recommend it?
I do, but not sure if I'd recommend it. Not certain it's worth the steep price tag.
Did you do this while the battery was still in and connected?
Yes. Battery wasnt touched
Is that applicable in Ford ranger 2.2?
Yes I believe so. I have just checked the part numbers for the filter on the 2.2 and the 3.2 and they are the same (Mahle 503590530). So the process should be identical.
good video =) - how often we need to change fuel filters btw?

Followed all your instructions. Truck stared, ran for 20 seconds and cut out. Now won’t start at all....
Any advice?
Probably air in the housing still. Try the priming process again. Should not be any whirring sounds or similar when it's ready.
It’s all good! Primed it a further 4 times and it went first time ☺️
Four! 🙈🤣
7 primes in total ain’t too bad 🙄 was on panic mode for a good 10 mins though🙋♂️💁♂️ #NotaMechie
Dont forget to clip the wiring harness back into the bracket. It was removed at 1:29 but reconnection wasn't mentioned??
He reconnected the wiring harness before reinstalling the whole filter tank, you can see at 5:58
