This is spot on. If our politicians had imposter syndrome they may actually achieve something!
He's from the Greeters Guild. Worth checking out.
@@ReadySteadyExcel thanks!

The only thing more dangerous than a politician who doesn't achieve anything is a politician who achieves something.
Troy Hawke deserves his own show!
Comedy is dead. I'm not a conservative but one thing I do agree with is that wokism has totally ruined comedy. This wasn't funny. Comedians are terrified of offending and being cancelled nowadays by the twitter outrage brigade.
He has a CZcams channel - czcams.com/users/Billix1videos
@@lauralishes1 Have you not seen Ricky Gervais or Jimmy Carr? They're not afraid. Troy Hawke is a different type of comedian, founder member of the Greeters Guide.
@@pinocleen Thanks, I'm already a subscriber 😊
@@lauralishes1 Oh, go away, repeating your opinion doesn't make it any more powerful.
I love this guy's aesthetic. He looks, dresses, and sounds like an uppercrustman from 1927. He has real _The Great Gatsby_ energy.
Genuinly enjoyed this segment. It's great how this show also introduces people to other comics as well.
Genuinly don’t know what that word means
@@stuartjohn5149 - which one?
"Enjoyed"?

@@lauralishes1 this guy not being funny isnt related to the general belief that comedy is "too woke"
@@lauralishes1 That's just your opinion. I disagree. We both have valid opinions. Get over it.
Never heard of this bloke, but I love his comedy. Cheers for giving this man a shout out Russ 🍻🇦🇺
I have seen him a few times as compere at our local comedy club. I enjoyed his stuff.
If you'd like to see more of Troy, he has his own CZcams where he uploads content of him standing outside various buisnesses and pretends to be an employee from "The greeters guild". He compliments shoppers coming and going and is a lovely human being in the process. He also does quite a few stand up shows! Never seen him on stage myself (appart from this instance) but I'm sure he's a good laugh
He has a funny Tiktok channel too he's so funny
@@lpsftw8572 he seems like a genuinely funny bloke, what’s his CZcams called?
I am privately educated and he has a point. At my school we were repeatedly told that we could do anything, we could shape the world. It instilled firm self belief in us. Everyone deserves to have been given strong self belief at school.
It is possible to have self belief AND self examine. Imposter syndrome perhaps is self examining without self belief. It's dangerous to have self belief without self examination - that's toddlers and shameless narcissists.
@@AJ-fo2pl Right on! AJ in 🇨🇦❗️
@@AJ-fo2pl perhaps you have to be a shameless narcissist to make it in the Tory party
That's interesting to hear. In a public school we're taught to always doubt ourselves and that the [authority figure] always knows more or is better than you in some undefined way. Self belief and confidence is seen as shameful and arrogant. So public schools are full of kids with no self confidence (because puberty) being reinforced that they should always doubt themselves and praise authority, so they never grow up into strong adults.
We were told that it doesn't matter what we do because the world will never change and how much can one person change the world. And when individuals that did change the world were brought up, it was always Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin. Always in the negative. Never Tesla, Einstein, Mozart, or Augustus. We were taught helplessness and shame.
It explains a lot that privately educated people are seen as arrogant and self serving. Although I'm not sure many of them have the ability to self-reflect, that seems to be connected to intelligence rather than schooling.
"Imposter syndrome perhaps is self examining without self belief". Jesus, did you just fix me? That was bananas insightful.
@@maryntalysenazjwa6096 aww that's sweet of you. Glad my words from 9 months ago that I've completely forgotten about helped someone :) you deserve to believe in yourself! And I hope your self examining leads to becoming the best person you can possibly be :)
I know this is meant in jest, but it comes across as particularly insightful. Impostors tend to not be afraid of being found out, because they think they've already fooled everyone, and are convinced they can keep doing it. The only people who fear losing their jobs are those who actually have something to prove. If you're afraid of getting something wrong, then you at least care about the work you do, which is more than can be said for those who couldn't give a crap, because it's just bragging rights to them.
I thought this was a Ted Talk with jokes and the jokes were just the delivery vehicle.
Milo McCabe (Troy Hawke) is a qualified Psychotherapist. He studied at Liverpool University and uses his knowledge in his comedy.
Good heavens, this chap is damn smart, dastardly funny, and dashingly handsome to boot!
Glad to see this guy go from CZcams to actual stand up, his videos always gave me a chuckle, and he’s a natural on the stage too
*Character!* Finally a modern day Comedian _with a gimmick!_ I'm loving this lad 👌
🤣 Ahhh man, I haven't genuinely laughed that much at a comic completely new to me - we need more Troy Hawke on our screens !
Comedy is dead. I'm not a conservative but one thing I do agree with is that wokism has totally ruined comedy. This wasn't funny. Comedians are terrified of offending and being cancelled nowadays by the twitter outrage brigade.
@@lauralishes1 why are you copy pasting the same sad reply on multiple comments? You don’t need to step in every time someone expresses their enjoyment just to say you don’t find it funny. If that’s the case, just don’t watch and don’t comment. I thought the act was good, it was a bit different and it made me laugh!
@@lauralishes1 Oh, I completely agree - the current state of British comedy especially is saddening, I mean look at the decline of Frankie Boyle. They're definitely afraid to challenge the status quo for fear of not "succeeding" but I don't think this set was pandering any which way, just some funny stuff + some modern commentary which was quite fair
@@samueljones1262 a lot of people these days feel like they have to win .... Something. They don't like the set so we must agree or they're wrong or some nonsense 😂
@@samueljones1262 Exactly!
His delivery is impeccable! The part about Boris having to be dragged out with his fingernails still embedded in the door frame.. 🤣
I had never heard of this man before this clip and he is my new FAVORITE comedian. Holy shit. Good job man. I'm American and I'm still not sure what kind of store he's talking about but I was still laughing my ass off because it literally doesn't matter. I love this person.
Equivalent of your Home Depot.
I now went back and watched almost all his greeting videos. The guy is hilarious. It's criminal how underrated he's.
I thought I saw myself in his analysis, but then I realised it wasn't me.
He got booted out of B&Q and such places for greeting customers. Guy is so funny
Such a good comedian he needs to be hyped more, get this man a special 😂
You're joking right? Comedy is dead. I'm not a conservative but one thing I do agree with is that wokism has totally ruined comedy. This wasn't funny. Comedians are terrified of offending and being cancelled nowadays by the twitter outrage brigade.
@@lauralishes1 Just because you don't think something is funny, that doesn't make it true. Haven't you ever heard of people having differing opinions?
@@lauralishes1
Did you hear the audience laughing?
It's not that the comedians aren't funny, it's that you personally don't find them funny.
@@mcjs8640 have you ever noticed when people say theyre not a conservative. What follows is mean nothing sentences and buzzwords.
@@lauralishes1 tell that to every comedy club on the circuit that he regularly takes the roof off of. He smashes it in front of every type of audience whether its working class Liverpool or a London TV audience like this. Also, I bet your blinkered view of comedy is only what you bother to see on TV. There's a thriving circuit of comics in Britain that for the most part push the artform and plenty that are faaaaaar from terrified of offending people. You've clearly never seen people like Freddie Quinne, Fin Taylor, Simon Wozniak, Adam Rowe, Jamie Hutchinson, Kane Brown etc.
Saying that, whenever I see a comment like yours I do always wonder what is it you really like hearing jokes about and what words that offend 'the twitter outrage brigade' do you especially miss hearing comics say?
Holy shit! Noel Coward has officially been reborn as a stand up comedian lol!
Well, he showed up looking like Russell had dragged him out of bed unexpectedly after a night at a Victorian cosplay evening - but he walked away having made us all laugh AND leaving a genuinely positive message as well. Well done that man - more of him, please!
OMG!! I LOVE this man- I yearn to be “greeted” by him….
He just lifts people up with seemingly genuinely nice- yet not sugary- greetings and salutations! 😊 and is funny af to boot!
Scammer and a bot. Dont follow anything they send.
Milo is a gem, so funny and on point with his observations, all while being this lovely, goofy character Troy Hawk.
Love Troy what a legend 🤣🤣
Troy Hawke is coming along nicely, another year or so and he'll be ready for a full length show 🙂
couldnt agree more
Mate he's been touring and doing the circuit for years. I saw him do an hour show early this year and it was brilliantly crafted from start to finish. He murders in front of any crowd, especially in the north and especially Liverpool. Search for his clips from Hot Water Comedy Club where he regularly takes the roof off. He was ready years ago.
Outstanding description of Boris Johnson Mr Hawke, outstanding. You’re a damn fine judge of character. Bravo 👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻
GIVE THIS MAN A STANDING OVATION 😂 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This will go down in my personal history as one of the best uses of 7 minutes ever! That was brilliant.
troy Hawke is an amazing comedian.. saw him live at a local charity event.. fantastic
Anyone that has not seen this genius on The Greeters Guild, do so now. Jan Mowlby says so.
Troy is a genius!
Caught him on Russell’s show a few days ago and went straight to CZcams, sat and watched him for a couple of hr. Absolutely hilarious, shoulders back Troy and carry on.
I didn't know what to make of Troy when i first saw him, Was he a posh boy ripping the lower classes, was he a lower class boy ripping posh toff's? What l learned is he's a really nice guy with a sharp mind, quick wit, and a bunch of great authentic characters that are comic gold yet lovingly represented. I have to say, Seeing him quick switch into his scouse characters at the Hot Water comedy club in Liverpool was the funniest routine I seen for years. Find his interview on youtube "The hilarious Troy Hawke and Darren Smith" to see what a really nice guy he is too.
What an amazing and refreshing style of delivery. I have been a big standup follower since the days when the comedy store was in it's old location, when the Biscuit Tin Circus was operating in west London (Lee Evans, Pub Landlord to name but a few.) But this guy was truly original and poignant. I wish him well, he was certainly a new style. 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Your shot at the big time Mr Hawke and you absolutely nailed it! 👏👏👏
Nice one la. 👍
The funniest & most ingenious comedy is that with truth running through it.
Damn, I needed that. Might make myself a poster of the most pertinent quotes. Might forget, of course, but here we are.
Absolutely LOVED this guy!
What an amazing self deprecating joke to start off with!
A bit of advice I remember about this that helps me a little. Just embrace it. "Look at these idiots! They have no idea that I've infiltrated this place, not an iota of knowledge that I don't deserve to be here! What a bunch of witless fools!"
But that can easily go into the deep end without a bit of psychological mustard to keep you grounded.
Wow! So very well written and equally well delivered. That was fantastic!
This guy is brilliant! I love his voice!
Troy Hawke is a revelation!
I saw Milo McCabe at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2011, where he played Troy in one show. Lovely guy who deserves every success.
That is one of the best standup sets and one of the best bits of advice and wisdom I have ever seen. 🎉❤
Great episode love this guy and Boris is having another go at getting in!
Really enjoyed this segment on the show, genuinly one of the funniest comedians that's been on it. I hope he tours as i will certainly go see him.
Great set Troy. Never seen you before but am sure (and hope) that I will see you again 😎
Absolutely brilliant and spot on! 👏👏👏
As someone who's a trainee therapist I have massive imposter syndrome even though I try so hard to learn more things and be good to my clients. We all need to be kinder to ourselves and appreciate our efforts , intentions and knowledge is good enough
That's funny. I indeed took my own 'left' and now work in a hardware store in the Lake District. It's also much better than B&Q and my marking load has been cut by 100%. The pay isn't much, but I have a lot of fun. I loved teaching but I am now less of an imposter. Happy days. Power to you!
What a gem!
I have seen Troy live in my local Comedy Club - he's a scream! 👍
This man is fantastic!
I have seen him at our local comedy club. Very funny.
Wonderful. Well done Troy/Milo.
I remember being on the tube going towards Hampstead last week, and I overheard a girl of no more than 11 years old teliing her friend that when she grows up she wanted to start her own 'consultancy business' in the most self assured painfully posh Hampstead voice! The 33 year old me who grew up on a Leeds Council estate felt an imposter syndrome you couldnt describe, and yet hear was an 11 year old girl who seemed more self assured than most 35 year olds!
He has one of the sexiest voices ever. He could read the phone book to me.
Oh my word, that is one well-written routine. He's VERY good!
This guy is wonderful! I agree that he should have his own show. Thanks for the introduction! 🌹😂👍
hes very good, well done Russ
That was great, thanks for the laughs!
Nuff respect Mr Troy❤

Hi "Troy" your no. 1 Irish fan here. This clip gets better every time I watch it. Great stuff from Milo. I wonder if he'd consider doing a programme with his dad. The craic could be mighty.
Greeters guild for the win 🏆
Comedian/therapist. That set probably provoked a lot of conversation.
I love clever, witty, well-constructed humour.
It’s true, I got to a good medical school from a really poor inner-city comp. The school always discouraged me and never gave me any awards and recognition for achievement. I never failed an exam or test below 96% upto gcse level and coasted into med school; first person for 9 years that did from that school. So I felt I didn’t belong at med school and when I saw others on the course full of confidence about their knowledge and understanding I thought I didn’t fit in. I eventually dropped out. Glad that I did now as I did graduate in comp sci from another uni and have been relatively successful.
Thanks for the introduction! I’m going to head off now and look for some Troy Hawke on CZcams!
I love this guy he's brilliant on Tiktok too.
Perfect! I like how his voice has an air of Lord Charles.
He's a genius

I saw this dude do the best Setlist set at the Fringe I’ve ever seen about 8 years ago. Fucking genius
I love him Lol. His Tiktoks are absolutely brilliant
Loved it!
Brilliant!!!!!!!
Love this guy!
I think it’s fair to say that the element of “upper class” characters that we all secretly admire is conversational eloquence……….. Troy has that in fecking bucket loads innit !🤣
Love Troy! ❤
That was most enjoyable humour. And had me tittering....from someone pronounced getting ahead of herself! Oh yeah, waking up, thinking it Monday and cancelling a local service to get somewhere, only to realise its actually Sunday, and the said appointment is a few days away...thanks for sharing this humour 😀
Brilliant routine, as always! Your shoes look excellent, of course ;)
Love Troy!!
This is an excellent and on-point discussion of imposter syndrome, presented in the pleasant veil of comedy with also a bonus poke at our country's ongoing cavalcade of inept leadership in our country. Well done, that man.
Imposter syndrome is just a humble brag - “I have an amazing job but I don’t want you to dislike me or think I’m arrogant because of it.”
You never hear some 20 year old freshly trained bricklayer or plasterer saying he has imposter syndrome, do you?
its the guy from tiktok, i didnt expect to see him here, this is pretty cool, i didnt know he was a comedian, but it makes so much sense now..
Omg my two favourite comedians met!???
Imposter syndrome is just a humble brag way of saying “I have an amazing job.”
Literally every keynote speech I’ve had to sit through from some highly successful person has always claimed they’ve felt it. They’re just saying it because they don’t want people to think they’re arrogant. It doesn’t work.
I've watched his stuff on CZcams .. the clips I've seen were very good.
He was actually genuinely funny. I gotta search for more from him
....would definitely watch a whole show from him. Get it done!!!
If you wanna see more of him, he has a CZcams channel! It's under his name and is a nice collection of content.
Just got reccomendation clips of him doing greetings in front of stores and few of his stand ups. And suddenly he showed up in Russel Howard's show too!?
