How is she still being described as "up and coming"? She's had her own set at the Apollo in 2018, been on several panel shows and this year is headlining her own tour! I'd say she's pretty established at this point. This was a great set. That last bit about the sweatshirt did me in.

First time i have seen her. She is very good!
I like her standup but it kind of feels like her original debut happened before she was quite ready. She seems to have struggled to have fresh material at times.
For what it's worth I expect this is not an uncommon problem, and one can't control when the lucky break happens either, but it can make things a bit awkward.
She was by far my favourite on this year's taskmaster!

Fern Brady co-hosted a radio show called the wheel of misfortune, it’s well worth a listen for her contributions alone.
She's hilarious! That bit about getting married because she wanted her beloved to be in charge of pulling the cord was wonderful! I laughed so hard... I feel the same way! And the bit about the hoodie was awesome as well. She is great!

As a frequent "borrower" of my boyfriends hoodies, the last bit really cracked me up.
To be honest, I still have one pair of knickers of unknown origin, but as they are fitting perfectly, I stopped asking questions some time ago.
I’ve been following her for years and she’s really growing her own special style.
Marriage is one of those things I entered because none of my bio family respects my choices ,so I'm happy to have the reassurance to know that the one person who does is the very person legally authorised to do so.
Wow! First time I've seen someone that's been really funny, talking about great topics and having good timing on this segment. Hope to see more of Fern in the future (although I'm pretty sure I've seen some of her other sets online)!

Fern Brady is like a feisty little cat who sometimes wants to be cuddled but always ends up biting you a bit.
This is a perfect analogy for Fern. Adorably cute, playful at times, mischief and naughtiness but a fierce filthy side to her constantly.
LMAO, I can relate to the doctor calling you at night thing, except in my case I had cancer. Also, my parents got married, so my grandmother on my father's side could more easily lend my mother money for college. Turns out lending money interest-free is easier if you have the same last name.

Does the UK not have advanced directives of care? Documents you can fill out as a sane adult to tell people what to do if you ever ended up in a persistent vegitative state? Or documents stating who is in charge of your healthcare if you can't be anymore? I can't imagine having to get legally married just to decide what happens to you if you can't make your own decisions.
Of course it has. The joke setup itself is just a sideways dig at the fact that laws used to consider first father and then husband the person with ultimate say over a woman's agency, and instead of lingering on that, she just ran with it and trusted the audience to get that this isn't actually the case.
