Hey, great vid! This is pretty late after the video was uploaded, but I am thinking about buying one of these for my birthday. On of the questions at the moments I have is does it have a metal clutch. If you have an answer I would greatly appreciate it

Is the clutch made of plastic or metal?

Is normal for plastic tube that holds the leads inside to break when is brand new ?
I got the same issue for both my Lamy Safari & Vista mechanical pencil ( is the same place where the eraser goes )

From what I’ve heard, the “break” is there by design for the eraser to fit better. I may be wrong though.

I don’t like that grip. Because what if we want to turn the pen around a bit to get to the sharper part of the lead?
That grip only works practically with fountain pens.

It's a bit different than the fountain pen one, it's sort of triangular in shape, while the fountain pen had two flst side and a rounder "belly" . I use mine for my sketchbook practice and my illustrations in general and yes, I do rotate it quite a bit. However, I do love the grip of the Safari, in general. All the best!

How do you feel about those pencil grips that you can buy and put on pencils or mechanical pencils?

+TheSonyGuy1 I don't use them, but I believe everyone should do what they like. I just happen to prefer skinnier grips, so putting one on a pencil would be going away from what I prefer.

In my experience wih various mechanical pencils, lead breaking has more to do with the user than the pencil. Grip and how often you drop it are the most frequent reasons.

Your personal issues with the erasure are design related…not quality related.

"Cash grab", so a LAMY standard then.
