Awesome decks! Grateful to not see any "The Deck" / UW types in the finals. That game 1 was insane ... Shivan v Serra, Fork'd the Tutor, Back-to-back regrowths
What a great match and tournament! Thanks for running this Timmy (and Joe for the spreadsheet work). It was a lot of fun and a lot of close matches. One of my games came down to having to top deck a balance to win.
Great final, well worthy of such a great tournament! A battle between a deck asking the questions and a deck providing the answers. I'm most fond of the proactive kind of Magic, so I'm thrilled that the deck asking the questions was rewarded for doing so :)
I agree, I think one of the early design flaws is that its too easy to answer threats. You cast a Water Elemental for 5 and your opponent taps a single white at instant speed and your creature’s gone 🤷♂️ The Zoo strategy offers a lot of different creatures with low and mid mana costs making it harder for the opponent to keep coming up with answers.
@@TimmytheSorcerer Spot on, that's why we get to see the same creatures time and again because there are only so many worth playing - if you aim to win that is. I think Earth Elemental is an underplayed creature, by the way: only 1 more mana than Erhnam Djinn with no drawbacks. In a green/red brew it could be great combined with birds, elves and Erhnam I think :) And it kills a Su-Chi, the one everyone plays in every deck ;)
I love this format. I grew up playing in 93-94 and I kept all my power, THANKFULLY 😂 but a lot of us back then didn’t use the power we had if our friends didn’t own power, so a lot of our games looked like this format, since most of our friends started at fourth edition. I also would like to see some original type II decks or type two decks from the 1995 period. The first pro tour forced players to use five cards from all sets, so the decks then had a lot of bad homelands cards. 🎉 I’d like to see that format without forcing people to use homelands 😂
Ah yes, Homelands love that too. Would be cool to do a type 2 tournament. We did do a tournament with Homelands once. You can find those matches here, czcams.com/play/PLsGeV_wxUkUaS_cvNkJK1Gs2poXgXSj2Y.html&si=xtfAsagRUz-jD97d
What a glorious game just like back when we were kids...
One of the best match that I saw on this channel!!!
One of the best match I've ever seen!

When the Shivan hit the board I was like; YEAH, COME ONNNN.
Not surprised no "The Deck" because no Moat and no The Abyss.
This tournament deserves to become a whole FORMAT
It’s def a lot of fun. You can find the rules and other info on the tournament website, sites.google.com/view/masters2/home
Watching in preparation for Reprint Masters 2022!

Great final! Exciting games :)
Amazing finals!
Thank you for putting on this tournament! It was great fun.
Any time!
Such a brutal match!
Close all the way to the end 🤩
Fork on Demonic tutor ! That’s great ! 🤩
Fork should be played more imo
Beautifull match
So tight! Had some great games in this event. Only a handful of cards diff to Matt's final deck.
I also played great matches. Sometimes the difference between a win and a loss is just one card or one moment.
Man such an amazing final

@@TimmytheSorcererthis format in the video with the dark, fallen empires, would be sweet. Maybe arabian too.
That Shivan alter is MASSIVE 😬
Frank sure did a great job!
@@TimmytheSorcerer so simple but that's what you want to see. Shivan fire breathing to the max!
What a boss!
This Gideon has some mad skills 🤪
🤣🤣
I cheering for the red white green deck. I always cheer for the deck that plays with balls
My boy won
Both wizards realize creatures are no good here and decide to throw fire balls and bolts until someone dies!
😂
Hoe did the Zoo deck board? Disenchant in, red blast in, en what else? But what goes out?
If I remember correctly, I boarded some small creatures out to focus more on the long game.
