For anyone about to take it, try not to use “I” in your essay. Another thing to try to do is add context after using quotes. The graders know the quotes, but they don’t know your context to support it. That is what they want to see. Good luxk

Your review is amazing ♥♥♥♥! I watched this before taking my English regents on the 17th and got a 92, and I'm sure I couldn't have gotten a 92 without this video😁!
To be honest the teaching system in school sucks. All my teachers said I would fail my regents exam because I gotten 1s or 2s on my essays. After watching your video I went to the english regents and got a 94 it's crazy how 1 person making a 17 minute video can bring your score from a 50 to a 94. Thanks for the great video!

Firstly let me say something, during the test I took way too long with the argumentive essay (since it valued more points) and I think it was pretty solid. Unfortunately when I got up to the 2nd essay, I didn't have to to read the message and make a good essay. BUT- a 96% wow 😳 thanks you so much again ❤️

This is such a help !!! In English for us we just read not really preparing for our regents or tests, so this really helped me out. I was so nervous to take the test and after watching this I feel more confident in myself. Even though I'm taking the test in around 2 hours, this is so much help.

You should also look at the one called “argument essay.” That also helps with part 2 a lot!! I honestly think my annotating video helps the most with reading comprehension. It’s a skill that will truly make you a better reader, and you have lots of time before June to develop that skill. Hi Choo! Try not to be scared. Get a good night’s sleep, ok? Did you see my other videos? There is one for each part of the Regents and one about How to Write an Argument Essay (which will also help with part 2). Remember to use three different texts for part 2. Good luck! I’m sure you’ll do just fine! 😊

Choo Do your best with multiple choice. That’s all you can do at this point. Stay positive and do your best. Put a mark next to the ones you are not sure about and go back to multiple choice at the end if you have time.
Part 3 is usually a literary piece, like a story. So, remember that characterization and conflict almost always will work. Look at my examples. Good luck and stay positive!!

Choo Well, of course I really have no idea what the passage will be, but it is usually a passage that reads like a story. It might not be fiction; it could be a true story, but it usually reads like a story.

you should never put 'I" in an argumentative essay...
Fay Berig Thank you for your comment. Look at some example essays that got the highest scores. Many use “I.” If you can omit “I,” go for it because it is best, but for many students, it’s better not to worry about “I” and put focus on well-developed argument.
