Regarding feeding weeds, once they're present at any level of development, wouldn't a higher rate of nutrition be required, since the nutrients would be now shared?

Good question. Weed response to nutrients varies depending on the individual weed and where it is in its life cycle when the nutrients are applied. It's best to identify your weeds first before determining when to apply nutrients and when to implement weed control strategies. We suggest contacting your local Extension agency for strategies involving weeds and nutrients for weeds specific to your area. Thanks.
