    Great video.. needed to see this. Was looking at the HomeCourse retractable screen as a solution in my garage. Question, when the screen is folded, how wide is it? Trying to understand how wide the retraction unit is. And, with being two years ago, how has it held up? Thanks!!

    • @timothyleible6361
      @timothyleible6361 Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks Kenny! When folded it’s a little under 9’ wide, including the end caps. It’s held up pretty well; considering I teach part time in my garage. Lots of juniors beating balls, I replaced my net insert about 3 months ago.

    Awesome space saver...however, I am sorry, there is no way your ceiling is 8ft. I'm 5' 9" and have 8 foot ceilings upstairs in my house and cant even swing a full sand wedge without hitting the ceiling. However, downstairs in my dining room I can full swing any club with 9ft ceilings, but still not a driver.

    • @timothyleible6361
      @timothyleible6361 Před 2 lety +1

      Yes sir, 8’3” is my ceiling height in my garage. I’m 5’7”, can swing to about 8 iron somewhat comfortably, anything longer has made some marks on my ceiling.

    • @Latebloomergolf
      @Latebloomergolf Před rokem +2

      @smitty8403 Před rokem

      @@Latebloomergolf just curious but do you have personal insecurities that would lead you to posting a comment like that? 🤣🤣 Bruh... just Google it.. if you have a flatter swing, you might get away with it at 8ft, but at minimum you'll need 8.5-9ft.

    How far is the projector from the screen. Also, how did you garage door opener not get in the way?

    • @timothyleible6361
      @timothyleible6361 Před 2 lety

      Projector distance will be dictated by your projector and the specific “through” that it has. Mine is about 15’ back from the net. With the garage door opener dead center, the follow through of the swing will be left or right of it depending on if the player is lefty or righty

      The bottom of both the side nets and the main net have heavy inserts to help keep them in place and the net taught. I’ve had a couple students hit shanks on mine...I was happy the side nets were there; had a lefty almost take out my washer machine!

    • @timothyleible6361
      @timothyleible6361 Před 4 lety

      Hi @Ben Schroeder, thanks for your question. I’m using and Epson Pro EX9220 projector. It works well however there are plenty of good options out there. When looking for a projector for sim-golf, be sure to know exactly how far the projector can, or will, be mounted from the screen so you know if you need a “short through” or not. Regarding the ceiling, the screen is approximately 8’ tall and the overhang is a couple feet. I’d recommend putting your hitting mat as close to the screen as you can with being able to swing safely. This should hopefully keep any shots from hitting your ceiling. Good luck my friend!

    • @timothyleible6361
      @timothyleible6361 Před 4 lety

      Hello @Adam Alday, thank you for the question. Deflections aren’t bad in my set up cause the screen isn’t real taught. My garage ceiling is quite low so my screen bunches up a little at the bottom, so bounce back is minimal. If wall mounting, you should try to get at least 18” from the wall. Play well!

    • @kggsports
      @kggsports  Před 4 lety +2

      It’s great. I’ve had/used several other nets and projectable impact screens, and the Homecourse has been as good or better than any of those. As far as durability, so far so good. I seen some divot spots from hitting shots repeatedly into the same location but nothing dramatic. My biggest issue was letting my kids do soft toss and tee work with dirty baseballs which left a few marks on it. Now I use clean/new baseballs and with no issues.
