Minegumo which means Summit Cloud was the eighth of ten Asashio-class destroyers built for the Imperial Japanese Navy in the mid-1930s under the Circle Two Supplementary Naval Expansion Program following a design created after Japan departed from international treaties aimed at restricting naval armament. During the Pacific war Minegumo played a role in the invasions of Malaya, the Philippines and the Dutch east indies. Minegumo also took part in the battle of the Java sea and frequently transported reinforcements as part of the Tokyo Express. It was during one of these transport missions on the 5th of March 1943 that Mingeumo was sunk along with fellow japanese destroyer Murasame by an american squadron consisting of 3 cleveland class light cruisers and 3 fletcher class destroyers.

Another enjoyable and informative video, well in line with the usual high(ish) production values. The in game chat was most amusing. However while watching it I noticed a small black cat who seemed to be pointing towards my bathroom, outside my window. When I went to check I found some footpad searching the bathroom. Luckily I had my coat stand gladius to hand, and gave the intruder chase out of my abode!
Later did I discover they had lost some green spandex as they tried to vault a barb wire fence, obviously it was none other than that fiend Warshipman, alter ego of Carbine Carlito himself, no doubt seeking to steal precious bodily fluids, yet again!

Well I do love Japanese torp boats, so I might have to get this one.
An interesting boat, slow turrets could be an issue but overall looks pretty good
Looking forward to it, although she has capable of switching Torpedoes regardless on her Torpedo Range but she does not have a Torpedo Reload Booster Consumable like Asashio.
No reload booster but torps that are useful against all targets
I think you can swap out the gun accuracy mod for faster turrets. This is a DD after all with DD dispersion.
Interesting boat, this... slow turrets : par for the course if you sail an IJN torp boat... not quite sure if one would need this above and beyond a Harekaze and a Yudachi... but well colour me interested
It's a very good destroyer. Great concealment good guns with usable torps. It's got all the tools
So many DD variants that mostly play the same. Jager and a few others are the exception.

Just traded for one Potato Quality says Forget The Guns. Torps Torps and occasionally Torps.
I'm Thinking (which is always scary) lose Grease The Gears & Man Battery Expert for Swift And Silent.
Now i disagree because one build is focussed on damage and the other is on being super effective against enemy dds. Minegumo has very good concealment and alpha strike so it can really put the pain on enemy destroyers. Once enemy dd's are dead you can torp to your hearts content. Its a gamewinner

Struggling to see why you would take this over the kitakaze? Feels worse in every dept other than detection
Never underestimate the power of concealment and being able to control how you want to fight. I've beaten hardcore gunboats like Smaland, Sherman Daring Kita Aki and Yamagiri plus others in recent days in gunfights
Seems way too expensive. Cash price is pretty high and it seems you can't really get it any cheaper in any other way. Am I missing something ?

This same Yudachi there is nothing different plus Jupiter jerwis better then Jupiter torps with he gun lol 😂

Dude why build this into guns? Like you build Yugumo or Shima to guns? :DD I don't think so and this has even worse reload and turret traverse time than Yugumo. So really no reason to build into guns instead of torps.
I thought I explained why I built into guns to specifically hunt other destroyers. You can build into torps and get the reload down to 76seconds but with slow long range torps you still have to get through the screen of enemy destroyers first
@@CarbineCarlito I think you can build ships like Harekaze to guns. Cos it has good turret traverse time around 11s, it has ok DPM for its tier so boosting it up makes sense. But this thing has 26s turrets travel time! And reload mode will make it just worse. Also DPM is shit. What dd you can outgun with these poor guns? Your main "gun" is great concealment and some torps not guns. Also 15km torps are really not great I would rather have standard 12km torps from Yugumo and 6.5km F3? WHy the hell its not 8km? 6.5km is really short. Also no AA like really not at all. You can't even shoot down spotter plane. I think this ship is even worse than Yugumo or even Harekaze which is tier 8. It has worse long range torps than Yugumo and on distance like 5-6km from BBs it really doesn't matter if you use those 6.5km F3 or standard 12km from Yugumo. It will still not dodge either of them. But that's just my view of the matter, maybe I'm wrong of course.
@@vitezslavlorenc3479 I've killed so many destroyers on stream the last day or so with this including Lushun, Smaland Yamagiri and Forrest Sherman just to mention a few..with guns not torps. Its not all about dpm it's about alpha strike. It's how I like to play. I'm not saying everyone has to or that they should. All I'm saying the option is there and its valid
@@CarbineCarlito This is possible in this playerbase, nothing to be surprised about, but I guarantee you that if the fight is 1 vs 1 and the other player is at least a little capable, Lushun and Smaland will gut you alive. Also if you can somehow outgun them in Minegumo you can outgun them also in Shima or Yugumo which both have better guns.

It has just just 400HP less than Yugumo. So HP is really not problem. Thats normal HP pool for Japanese DDs.
